Hello SRO players :)

I'm someone who used to play silkroad and gave up on it because I felt like this little guy: :banghead:

The game has an enormous amount of problems and joymax doesn't really care. But there is a way to make them care. Unfortunately none of you have heard of the BBB in the U.S. which is a government agency that monitors businesses and their practices.

No business wants the BBB breathing down their necks and oddly enough, joymax has had no reports at all! If you want to get something done then use this agency linked here: http://sanjose.bbb.org/WWWRoot/Report.aspx?site=68&bbb=1216&firm=237291

Have a major conplaint related to your account? Report it!
Joymax must reply to complaints sent to the BBB, but do not make a false report.

hopefully they'd either force joymax to sell the game, or they'd impose a heavy fine on joymax for their stupidity, but all in all, I wouldn't get my hopes up, cuz i dont think that joymax is ever gonna chang their ways, even if someone shoves a big size 15 boot up their ass

wow I didn't think about BBB until you mentioned it.

Instead of everyone spamming reports why don't we just make a report from SRF itself

what exactly are you going to report them for? It's not the Better Botter Bureau, they probably won't respond to trivial complaints

iam guessing people are gonna report joymax for having a leak on their websites, putting their accounts in jeopardy, and not repaying hacked players who lost their accounts due to the security leak that was caused by Joymax

i dont know about anyone else, but an official report from the entire SRF to the BBB would be a great idea, we just need someone who's willing to help put it together

No, but the recent hacking and JoyMax's lack of upholding their end of their own agreement would be good. Everyone who got hacked should definitely make a report. ESPECIALLY ppl who had silk on their chars becuse JMs lack of security actually cost them money.

Joymax headquarters are in Korea. Last time I checked BBB is a federal program which only works for USA based business. They could shut down our cali based joymax, but it wont stop Silkroad International based in korea.

Basically what the BBB does is force a dialog between the customer and the company. But do not use the BBB for things you are not prepared to discuss.

For example, if your account was banned for CCF and you did not do it you'd have to present your side of the argument. Even if joymax decides not to reinstate your account then it becomes either an administratively closed case or a case that was unresolved depending on how the BBB saw how the case was handled. Neither look good on a report though.

Keep in mind that this is not for small complaints.

The only way I see anything getting done is if we get some people in Korea to report Joymax to a consumer protection agency there regarding the way they run international servers, but that may be a weak plan of attack depending on whether or not South Korea is considered to be an official service area for both kSRO and iSRO. Also, remember that Joymax was awarded for $1M USD exports last year, presumably by the President of South Korea, so we may be fighting the man as well. :P

Good luck breaking through that force field.

Hmm yeah what Cruor said.

Also, what effect would an American board have on a Korean games company? If you took time to read through a few reports of Joymax you would realize the company is hailed. It gets crazy amounts of grants, and like Cruor said .. from people high up.

So this won't effect anything. Nice try tho.

You guys have given up before even trying. I've seen what the BBB does to companies, for example:

A player was banned for hacking in a different game(also free). He sent a report to the BBB and sent an e-mail to the company saying he never used any hacks and that he'd sent in a report. The company responded before the BBB dialog was even opened saying that his account would be reactivated. The player then dropped his complaint since a solution was reached.

It's too bad you guys don't understand how this works. It doesn't matter if the game is free or costs money, you can still complain. And korean influence doesn't play a part here  If joymax doesn't respond to your complaint then it is recorded as an unresolved issue. And a high number of unresolved issues could lead to the federal trade commission investigating your company.

lol, dude you sound like a defeatist

OT; hmm well if we can get enough srfers and sro players in general to reach a consensus then maybe we can file a report.
[although i have my doubts alot of srf is like this dude above me]

Why does everyone keep saying that? How does that have anything to do with the issue that Joymax had a security leak on their website that led to the hacking of hundreds of players?

To answer your question, it's a matter of immaturity and or ignorance.
