I could have experienced these times: 60 cap. It seems so pwnage, like everytime i hear oldschoolers talking about it... it seems amazing, now
i finally get what they were saying. "Best SRO Movie" should have been an excellant example of why 60 cap pwns all other caps. I want all oldschool players to spill their experiences and memories onto us newer generation Late 70 cap babies. 60>70>80>EuropeERA. I'll give some examples first:

It was awesome. I remember when item mall came, all was saying that gold ticket is almost like cheating lol

I remember the day the item mall came, I think every stall you went to somebody was selling gold tickets.

I remember buying a monkey and a gold ticket for 5mil, I wish those days would return. Back when you could log in without global spam, and when you started a new character when you ran out to manyangs people actually responded.

If the game returned to how it was at 60 cap, I would return to this game no problem. Even without item mall, the game was fun back than. I dont think anyone cared much about the grind simply because it was a fun game to play.

I think I may have been one of the blader's in that first video.

i rememebr even like a year ago in 80 cap? people would still talk to you at manygangs... someone gave me a sos 16 bow because i was talking back lol

used it to farm then i passed it to someone else

pfff i couldnt change my pw from the beta acc and i got hacked so i quit for a bit then started playing again >___> that was my worst memory ;d

I remember first time Isy died my GM and other friend killed her they were 54-56 lvl as I can remember.

I remember [not so long ago] when uniques spawned like crazy, never stopping lOl..

I started the day Troy opened (it was the 3rd server). It was a blast grinding back then because everyone would grind together. Bots were virtually non-existent. This was all back when alchemy consisted of elixirs only haha. A +5 level 52 SOS spear was an amazing site to see... +7's were unheard of unless they were drops. Gold buying was so rare that SOS lvl 52 weapons didn't break 20 mill.

I fought Isy for the first time at level 52. There were only a handful of level 60's on the server back then... it took us a while to kill her (much like the xLaw isy video)

I miss the days that I would see a thief with a blue moon glavie (lvl 42) and think he was high level haha.

Yeah i first played sro when Greece server first came out, it was SO fun back then...i guess i joined right as sro hit the skee slopes (spelling?)

still remember...
-those days when hotan was nearly empty and jangan was full of stalls.
-my first +7! lvl 18 sword made with 7 weapon elixirs
-reselling lvl 16 sos weapons and made my first million!
-the day arasyii and deebee hacked the game and spawned/killed hundreds of uniques!
-fly when he first got thief lvl 4.. dam i worshipped him back then.. some people say he cheated and asked a friend to help him do it, will never know.. (loooong time ago..)
-the sosun 24 bow i bought for 2mil! i almost burst into tears of joy, was so happy!
-lucky guild (back in 60cap) my first guild ever, and the daily trade runs we did with our members below 3x! we had so much fun back then!! no poppers btw (thieves didnt figure it out yet, lmao)!!
-deceptor and his unique kills, goddam you! all day everyday! get a life pl0x? lol
-when pompomtheice (biggest botter/goldbuyer in xian) was 4x and sold me his 6dgr sos armor.. he ripped me 25mil... that bish..
-the rollbacks!!!1
-the super 2x exp/sp/drops/zulie event and the first jewel box event!! little did we know that jewel boxes were gonna be part of every single quest after this one...
-first xmas event! omg reselling santa sets ftw!! $_$

i remember roflmao, i was a nub trader, but i was very determinated.
One time i got robbed by this guy on greece, it was so funny.

and omg, i hit 20, at like 23 i had my first trade run so exciting!
everyone did 2* , i didnt know what it was but we went through the ravine, i was excited.
the leader of the pt was 26, seemed so pro! A group of ppl transporting trades, going through this really dangerous place caled Ravine, we got raped because they got dc, so i remember i ran to town and managed to survive, i was like OMG THAT WAS COOL.
And when i was like drooling because i got 29 bicheon chains, and when i got my nukes too, and phantom walk

Everything was special, but it quickly changed..meh.
But still oh my god, if i loved 70 cap so much, and there was alredy full sos sets and stuff, +7 one or two +9 sos's, omfg i can imagine the 60 cap, omg

I miss 60 cap. I remember being scared of tigers! lol

pvp where you didn't have super high lvl botters, a 60 cap would make botting seam impractical for something you can easily get in not much longer time. That almost does make it look cooler, imagine a 60 cap with euro, and fort war, i still always have fun with lower lvls, those low lvl guild wars vs black hand and sd were really fun. Oh well i showed up to late for the lower caps

I only started playing 2 weeks before 70 cap came out, so I did not really experience 60 cap (since i was a noobie ). However 70 cap was much more fun that 80 to me. Their was always pvping and jobbing going on. The Jangan hotspot was always action filled, now you go their and see shit all. The game has changed so much, I wish they had capped it at 70 and never released Euro, I believe it was more fun back then.

I started Silkroad in Alpha, Oct 24th, 2005, just a little bit before it even opened.

60 Cap was great only good cus there no **** running thier mouths, no capped and farmed bots, no gold bots, no turks(sorry lol), ccf, +7-9 shit, sun, and joymax actually(or at least pretended) to care.

The content though I think wasn't as good for sure, I'd definitely take 80 cap for skills, areas, gears and stuff, I really wouldn't wanna be at 60 forever =x. Though I like the job system much better back then(at least no alias part), and even no euro lol, things have changed a lot. Just look at these videos, one of the things I miss most no bots EVERYWHERE, just look how empty places are, and the ppl you actually see.. are ppl! If you say hi they say hi back lol, or act all wierd or sumthin, but at least they are there ._., once you actually work for your lvl, it meant something and not anyone could just get there in a couple months, you were part of those that earned what they had, and part of the top of the server, you could make a difference in job wars a lot mroe and stuff, no full sun bots to need like 5 ppl to kill em.

This game would still as great as it was then if joymax wasn't such a pos, all they need to freakin do is ban bots -.-.

I have been playing for a lot more than most, but not all.

I 1st started playing during the christmas event of 2006. I admit im not a beta player.. but im pretty dam close.

The game was so much better than. Ok lets ignore the whole bot factor, gold buying factor, sun factors and logging in factors for a second and concentrate on what SRO use to be.

SRO was a simple but awesome mmo different in most respects from most. It didn't have the classical party system that most mmos had, instead it was oriented around the idea of solo play, where a random lvl 52 farming ice theif could come along and still manage to stop a lvl 60 hunter from stealing his goods long enough for his scroll to finish. Where any level 20 trader could have great fun trying to trade, making new routes to avoid 1* popping thieves, etc.. People use to walk around by themselves with which ever job suit they wanted and have fun doing it. These were the times and memories that are the 60 cap to me.

Now lets flash back to what we have now. We have a new race, Europeans. Now some people think "this is the re-birth of sro", but i think this is the death of sro. The reason i have played this game for literally over 2 years is because of the unique aspect of solo play. Anytime anywhere i could grind, pvp, anything. I never needed help from anyone, it was great. I could grind at my own pase in my own time without having to worry about a large group of 8 people taking over my spot. Now with the European race those days are gone. This is just like any mmo, simple party play with the classical "character classes" that most games have.

SRO's originality and uniqueness has been lost. The triangular conflict system is now stupid as all hell. Thieves cant pop? god dam there wasn't much that was more fun than that. Now days if you simply put on a suit and run out a gate by yourself chances are theres a whole euro party ready to kill you, if 3 chinese people with a non suited cleric dont first.

The things which drew me to this game have been lost. The times of the 60 cap and the very very early 70 cap is where this game was at its best. Now i see no reason why his mmo is better than any other.

Aye, i started at June of 2006.. And the game was so different..
Lol, beeing lvl 37 was considered "Cool".. When beeing 5x was considered High lvl (lol)..

And i mean how could u not love the job system back then lol, it sure was unfair sometimes but exciting.
HAH how many times did i get away, with 70 thieves trying to pop on my ass hahahaha.
I still remember this time, this thief was popping on my trading So, i quickly rushed to the ferry, acrossed it, and acrossed it again, then did it again and ran to the left and hide and got away with it haha, so exciting, watching the thief running and not finding you
I loved the fact you could thief on your own and still do good too.
Didnt like the mercs tho.

As much as i like euro, i gotta agree, i liked the game a lot back then, when Int Hybrids pwned but if u see atm, what is the use of making a chinese? When a wizard at 56 alredy outdamages a 64 pure int..chinese.
Sometimes i wish the game would just come back to what it was, so everybody could earn their lvl, no powerlvl.

Meh all i can hope for is, keep playing, have some fun with the actual game and hope somebody reproduces the old sro on a psro

70 cap was still pretty good, but uncomparable to the 60 cap...

from the sound of it its not the game has changed too much that has made it worse, its the people

i would have loved to be around when the isro had a 60 cap. i started playing just when the 70 cap was released. i remember seeing somone with 8D gear was a rarity and there were barely any bots too, then i quit for a while and came back to a totaly different game *sigh* my major problem right now though with sro is the euroes. totaly unfair ruined the uniqeness of this mmorpg and made it so much more liniar and lame
