I can't stand playing without a pickup pet. I'd go for a silver SP ticket and get a pickup pet.

1) Repair Hammer - 14 Silk - usable 11 times - You can use it during long quests which are far away from town or in case of immergency (lets say u r killing party giant and u realised that ur weapon's durability is 5/64. Use it only in these kind of conditions.

2) 100% resurrection Scroll - 97 silk - usable 11 times - If you die you can resurrect ONLY yourself. No exp and sp points wasted. Usage: When you die chose another one to resurrect you and right click on 100% resurrection scroll in your inventory. (I use it when doing job... İf i die i pretend i have no res and as the hunter/trader starts to walk away i resurrect and kill him  )

3) Ability Pet (if you don't have any) - 88 silk for buying and 48 silk for every rental period which is 28 days.

You can choose from this list but i guess 2 of them are over your limit :(

Repair hammers can be somewhat useful but 100% res scrolls are a massive waste of money. Think about it: it's about a dollar each time you res yourself. As much money as I've pissed away on this game, I'll be damned if I'm gonna spend a dollar each time I die. The 60% res scrolls are about 1/2 the price and can be handy if used very sparingly.

Those pets that grab items seem like a waste of silk, and honestly seems like a very lazy way of picking up items, because usually when u kill things you can grab the stuff quick with the pickup hotkey.

If you're a nuker or bow and using ice or one-shotting mobs, you can't grind without a pickup pet. In fast-spawning areas, your kill rate is double or triple with a pickup pet.

You are wrong ... + what blackfalcon and non ego man said:

You can use it as great inventory expansion. You can't carry to much items if you don't have an ability pet. Let's say your inventory is full but you didn't realise that and you have no pet to pick up your items. You realise that after falling of a SOX item right after you killed a giant. You will panic, try to decide which item you should drop off and until you drop an item from your inventory some f...ing idiod will have your SOX drop. And you will hit your head on the walls like this because you didn't get an ability pet: :banghead: :P

dont get silver premium, its a waste cuz you're missin out on a lot of exp for just $5 less than a gold.

dont get a pickup pet if you dont plan on buying more silk, you'll get hooked.

I can go grinding without PT but it's very hard to grind without the ability pet. Specially now I'm an archer and grinding inside the caves.

I'm basing it off personal experience. I can go a good grinding without having to go back to town to sell stuff. That's mainly due to the fact that if you're grinding in a specific area (say the crabs for example) they usually drop the same items over and over (sea sand, crabs hard shell, etc), and every so often i drop any arrows and bolts i have since i have absolutely no use for them. It takes mear seconds to do. And plus I have a job and a social life so it's not like I'd be playing the game enough to even need a pickup pet.

i only pick up gold and item drop , leave alchemy crap on ground.
pet grabber is extremely waste, u seem like a extremely lazy person.

i would get something useful like premium gold time and gold time sp ticket. 200% sp bonus + 100% exp bonus :D :)

Lets take the example of grinding on a place like ongs. If you get yourself any sort of bow character just leveling up there and you are 1 shotting mobs, you can kill constantly without having to move at all. The spawn rate is so great that there will always be a mob for you to kill. Now when you have to run 18 meters every 2 seconds just to pick up a few pieces of gold that are on the side of the ong mound you are wasting a lot of time. Simply getting a pick up pet will increase your grinding rate 2 or even 3 fold.

Why a monkey is better than any xp increasing scrolls

a. cheaper, only 88 silk the 1st months and 46 the rest
b. they will double and even triple your grinding rate and last more than 3 hours per day
c. they actually steal other peoples items if they leave them
d. they act as an extra inventory
e. you are still killing the same amount of mobs per level but at an increased rate, meaning the same gold per level
f. they look kool

all in all, pick up pets ftw

It takes on average 6 months for a Legit with Silk to cap and get Fully Farmed Playing 3 hours a day consistently and efficiently. Silk from level 10 - 80.

6 months (can be done in 4 months, but some people don't think its feasible) 3 hours grinding, and 2 hours doing the Jobbing, Pvping, and plain messing around.
Each increment of 6 technically consist of 28 days counting the PGT Length.

6*28 = 168
So 28 days * 6 would be 168 days
24 hours in a day
168*24 = 4032 hours.

4032 hours in 168 days
Now we want to find out how many true days were "wasted" on this game for the average legit:

5/24*4032 = 840

840 hours of a possible 4032 spent playing SRO
Lets see how many actual days that is:

840/24 = 35 days, a little more than 1 true non PGT month.

Now lets assume this Legit is just there for the grind and doesn't want to be bothered with other players:

3/24*4032 = 504

504 hours of a possible 4032 spent playing SRO
Lets see how many actual days that is:

504/24 = 21 days, a little less than a non PGT month.

24-3=21 hours to do w/e
24-5=19 hours to do w/e
Think of how much time some people spend in front of the T.V.

Just thought I would throw that out there.

That made no sense to me, where were you getting those numbers from and what did you mean? I started following at first, but you said they only played for 3 hours, and I know gt "doubles" the time, but they're still only playing for 3 hours, then where does this 5/24 thing come from? Explain that again please, because I still tried to figure it out, and if what I really got from that is true, then SRO is way easier than I thought.

the 5/24 was derived from the point that some people don't just grind for 3 hours then log off, they grind 3 hours then do the other things the game has to offer for 2 hours. 5 hours.

3/24 was pure ticket time, no guild, log in - log out, and you're done for the day. Basically Legits spend barely anytime in game, it just seems like a long time because of how it is spread. Over a 4 - 9 month period, for some its 2 years with several breaks in between. Either way very little time is spent in game. SRO is a relatively easy game to level in if you don't get bored easily and you know how to grind.

With SRO the chinese are great because you can spread your play time in the weirdest ways and still do your ticket time.

20 minutes before school/work.
60 minutes after school/work.
40 minutes before dinner/party/date.
40 after dinner/party/date.
20 minutes before bed/clubbing.

People who say they have no time just don't know how to manage their time.

It may seem like you have no time, but in fact you have plenty:
20+60+40+40+20 = 180/60 = 3 hours. You just grinded your ticket time over a large period of time. Sadly you can only really pull that schedule off as a chinese.

Europeans need to go through that 3 hours from minute one to minute 180, no stops, and sometimes you have to stay slightly longer than planned for the party's sake. Then you go mess around, jobbing, cap pvping, chatting, pwrlvling people: w/e or you log off an continue livving life.

how long do u think it would take a spear nuker to get capped and fully farmed(about 350k) playing 5+ hours a day?

I'll check nivlam to determine how much sp you get without farming.

EDIT:
If you get a SPT a PGT and a pickup pet, you won't need to farm. As a nuker it should take ~6 months, (thats 3 hours a day with exp increased by 100% and sp increased by 200%)(the extra 2 hours of normal exp gain should remove 1 month so ~5 months)

technically it wouldn't be a true month
28*5 = 140 days
140*24 = 3360 possible hours spent playing
3360*5/24 = 700 hours logged.
700/24 = 29 days actually logged on sro, thats 1 month. So counting only time spent playing it should take about one month +/- a day.

Spread over time it should be ~5months (depending on how well you grind).
