This is something I have never understood. The str are tanks but they use garm. This seems to be a generic way to hybrid yourself. If we referance euro, you can see that str tankers use armor, as it should be. But if you wanna fit in and not get made fun of I guess you should go garm.

well, if you want to be the greatest tank ever (looking at your sig), and your saying physical tank, then its a no-brainer to choose armor. However, that cuts down like 1/3 of the game for you, since you can only pvp against other strs, and only job hoping on nuker will find you...
ya, but armor for a godly meat shield

Str inherently gives extra Physical Defense. When you add on the Physical Defense from the Cold Buffs, Shield Buffs and Shield you will have a huge amount already. Garms provides not only higher Magical Defense for you but it also gives you 20 % faster movement/less MP consumption and Physical Defense. All of that together is a lot of Physical Defense. Think about it. In Garms with Ice Buffs you already have more Physical Defense than Armor alone. Adding all these extras on helps you a lot more than Armor will, Armor will really only bring you down.

It's because when your a str build it means you already have a good amount of str defense. But have less int def, so in order to compensate for the loss str builds wear garments. @topic starter yes armor do look good on bladers, but because you said your an ice blader meaning you have more phy def from ice shield or whatever you call that. You have less def for int attacks, so better use garments..

Chinese =/= Euro You should pick the gear that balances your stats enough to be able to tank anyone. As an ice blader you should be able to tank all str's with just ice buffs and shield, you dont need armor. Go prot or garm, prot will still hurt you vs. int tho.

That's because even with garments, STR builds (with the exception of Rogues) would still have a hard time killing you because they have weaker attacks in comparison with INT builds. Yes, it will be a lot harder for STR builds to kill you with an armor but it's better to be covered on both sides. There's a dozen different reasons why one should not create an ice blade. Holy Word and Fire Shield + Ice Immune for example would basically defeat the whole purpose of being an ice blade.

As a chinese you cant be a tank.. I mean you have to way to hold agro for your pt, I guess you could be a solo tank just agro a bunch of mobson you and aoe them but that isnt realy a tank.
IMO bladers are best suited to prot especialy with the amount of str based chars in the game now.

Armour shouldn't be an option. If you can afford decent garms, then use garments. If your garms suck, then not only will ints eat you alive, the strs will rape you "American History X Style". Go protector.

But I still say that protector is the best looking so go for style and a good middle ground
