Do pets, like a penguin, bear, white wolf have a limited amount of time to be used, or do you have them forever and you can level them regularly?

Nope, use them as long as you want, you don't need to spend more silk to keep using them each month.
The only thing is that you'll have to buy "food" for your pet to keep them alive.

wolves are the same, but the bear sacrifices speed for more damage..the %'s are different
