any penalty if I leave an academy?

I joined an academy, and I am wondering what will happen if I leave it. When I tried, a message popped up saying that I will be penalized some points. Now, what points are they talking about? and I leave an academy, can I rejoin another one? I searched around the forum and couldnt find an answer to my questions.

just a 24 hour penalty (you cant join to a other academy in this period)

The points are refering to the honor points you would have given your academy leader if you had graduated at lvl 40.
