I thought if mobs killed you any of your items could drop but if your PK'd or killed by someone in murderer status it wouldn't drop.

ACTUALLY thats really old
any mob has a % to "knock down" your weapon but it's very very small the champion mob has a higher % and so does the giant and the unique
a guild mate had his som glaive knocked down when a party giant killed him
so take care if you're holding something valuable or not yours

Joymax is making it so the game isn't just about your gear. Because now *If the dropping the weapon when you is true and not just a lil bug* a botter who has a 8d +7 Seal of Sun weapon will lose it and keep losing all their amazing weapon's until they have to buy a NPC one....because even if they can afford to buy a new weapon like their old one why would they? If they knew they were going to lose it again anyways?

wow this is AWESOME news. im origonally from a game known as neverwinter nights amnd some of the aspects of NWN and SRO are very similar. i actaully owned my own server and custom built world and one of my mods was that if players died they would lose items. it would depends on the monster difficulty to the person. it was an awesome script and made players think twice before battling the ultimate things with there nice equipment. go joymax!

if you are not in murderer status or doing PVP, ALL ITEMS from your inventory, equipped or not, can drop when you die! (honor, quest items etc ofcourse not..)If you are under murderer status everything except your equiped weapon can drop. This has been the same way for years now, and it's all in the Help Window in the game >.> btw... i believe SoX can NEVER drop from your inventory... (99% sure this is true )

so take care if you're holding something valuable or not yours No not at all. Read the help guide in game. It clearly states that you cannot drop your weapon. Only way to drop it is to have it unequipped. @Thread starter Sucks your wep dropped =/ Always sucks to lose gear. Unless its npc.

I dunno how many times i've posted it lol.
Weapons and everything else CAN drop if you die normaly, the only time it can't is when your in murderer.
I've seen it happen, i've gotten abotter weapon from luring on it, Sacch even murdered a bot and we got his +4 staff, they didn't change anything its always been that way.

As much as they complain about JM, they were certainly part of the problem. On-Topic: My guildmate just lost his spear dying PvE. I wonder if JM tweaked the chances of dropping your weapon or if it's just a coincidence. It used to be extremely rare. Lets hope it's not common.

equipped item never drop ... that was what it was supposed to be. items in inventory can drop, including your pots and return scrolls.
i've helped someone delevel his lvl 21 back to 16 during the good old days of bandit archer farming (me helping to do the rezzing while he did the suicide). deleveling 5 levels needs to die about 50x5=250 times. he was naked except holding his som16+5 bow and it never dropped.
so dropping items equipped will now be a new thing, at least to me.

You can drop ANYTHING equipped or not equipped EXCEPT for the weapon in hand. Thats the only thing thats not able to be dropped. I would know since I have a level 23 now 21 murder character and it dropped everything cept the glavie it was holding.
The only exception to the rule is events like CTF and when you cape PVP. You can, however, drop items when you die when jobbed.

No, you wouldn't know since it's different in murderer status, you can't drop weapons when red. When dieing normaly to mobs or being murdered you can drop weapon in hand. alZen wrote: equipped item never drop ... that was what it was supposed to be. items in inventory can drop, including your pots and return scrolls.

so dropping items equipped will now be a new thing, at least to me. That proves nothing, it's not a new thing, I can't prove either, other then showing a ss of the item, but still that doesn't prove anything, but you've always been able to drop your weapon when dieing normaly. I'm not one to lie or post something without knowing for certain unless I say i'm not sure, but i've seen it happen twice, both times before the 90 cap, once before euro, one was a bot dieing to mobs, the other one got murdered.

Ironically, after reading this I went out, died in a share party and dropped my 72+7 sword. Luckily it got transfered to a friend in the party. I had it in my inventory to use a different weapon for a sec... bad idea. First time I've ever dropped anything from my inventory from dying, aside from being murder stat.

Did you hold it when it dropped? It can drop if you're not holding it, anything can.
