Unless they're looking for specific spellings of curse words that would normally not be possible without some kind of client alteration to get around the swear filter then cursing in itself has nothing to do with whether or not someone is legit. But usually people just try things like altering the spelling of the word or adding a period in between letters. An example of this would be lets say Joymax is a swear word blocked by the filter. If someone still wanted to swear by saying Joymax, then they may type in game as J.oymax or Jymax etc but ultimately the only way to say Joymax in full is to edit the client to remove the swear filter.

It depends on what you typed. If you typed: fuck, then that is suspicious. Only two things can allow that. I want you to tell me what those two things are.
Now, if you typed f_uck, kcuf, or F-uck then the guy that reported you is kinda dumb.

there used to be a way of cursing without a modified client. By holding ALT and pressing 2,5,5 you could swear whatever you want they removed that though (i believe), so if you see some1 swearing then they got a modified client...

I don't think anything beats the totally original (yes I say that with massive sarcasm), "Fack Mather" insult.

If you typed out a real curse word properly that is normally filtered by Joymax, that indicates you have a modified client or have edited the game files in such a way that allows you to do it. For example, many bot clients remove the swear filter, allowing people to swear. So yes, many times if someone uses a filtered word, it means they have a modified client. But I think they just recently made the 255 bug work again.

You can do it through pk2 editing (the swear filter) and to a lot of people pk2 editing is fine.
It's freakin words anyways they don't mean anything over the internet and surely shouldn't be un-legit
who cares anyways

You don't have to necessarily pk2 edit. Pressing Alt+255 right before you type in the curse word in chatbox allows you to censor bypass majority of the curse words.

You can only curse with a loader interfering with your SRO or PK2 Edit. If you used the loader you are not legit. If you used the PK2 Edit, you are.
