Why did you bother asking lol did you even read it?
"The highway, connecting the Northern Areas of Pakistan to the ancient Silk Road, runs approximately 1,300 km from Kashgar, a city in the Xinjiang region of China, to Havelian, located in the Abbottabad District of Pakistan. An extension of the highway meets the Grand Turk Road at Hasan Abdal, west of Islamabad, Pakistan."

All the places in the SRO game exist in real life All the towns, all the desert, all the caves, all the rivers. Niya was a civilisation with a river which is now dead. Karakoram is a cold desertic area. Tarim basin is somewhere in mongolia, ch'in tomb is the tomb in china where they discovered thousand of soldiers statues, etc....

u can add http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Taklamakan_DesertThe Taklamakan Desert (Takelamagan Shamo, 塔克拉玛干沙漠), also known as Taklimakan, is a desert in Central Asia, in the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region of the People's Republic of China. It is bounded by Kunlun Mountains to the south, and Pamir Mountains and Tian Shan (ancient Mount Imeon) to the west and north. Taklamakan is known as one of the largest sandy deserts in the world[1], ranking 15th in size in a ranking of the world's largest non-polar deserts.[2] It covers an area of 270,000 km² of the Tarim Basin, 1,000 km long and 400 km wide. It is crossed at its northern and at its southern edge by two branches of the Silk Road as travellers sought to avoid the arid wasteland.[3] In recent years, the People's Republic of China has constructed a cross-desert highway that links the cities of Hotan (on the southern edge) and Luntai (on the northern edge).
