Well lately there has been a lot of different opinions about whether or not joymax would ban a silk buyer. Many people say yes, if they are proved to be not legit joymax would ban them. others simply say they wouldn't ban the people giving them money, for fear of chargeback or simple loss of revenue.

Well i think its about time to settle this argument. With my own account and with your help i plan to put an end to this myth once and for all.

What i wish to do is create a thread on the silkroad forums, saying im a silk buyer and say things which would persuade joymax to ban me. This is where you come in. I need ideas of what to put in the thread, sufficient things for joymax to ban me with. All ideas would be welcomed as i think this will be an interesting scenario.

Also opinions on whether or not this would work are greatly welcomed. Dont be shy to say what you think. Time will be the key with your help.

Most likely way to get banned is to bot, and seeing as that's not supported on this forum, I don't think that's a good idea. Swearing at GM on SRO.net etc, I don't think would work.

Chargeback is good option, but seeing as you're taking back the money you gave them, they'll definitely ban you.

Im not trying to actually do an act to be banned, such as botting. Im a legit and its going to stay that way. Im sorry if i made my post unclear but i wish to make a thread saying -insert such words that the srf community thinks will get me banned- rather than actually committing an act.

Chargeback isn't an option either. Everyone knows that if you chargeback, you get banned. What im trying to see is if creating a thread which admits i am breaching the TOS and admitting i buy silk will get me banned.

And we alll like pink panties Twist, i often wear them myself.

This theory won't work to 100% accuracy because one, you're going to provoke them into banning you. Thats not nearly the same as being banned randomly from their bot punishment list they do every week, another unknown person banned if you will. You're basically just making yourself a big target to them by saying, "Ban me! I do this and this and that!!" regardless if you really do said things or not.

BUt thats exactly the point though. I understand your angle and all, but this is simply a test to see if joymax will actually ban a silk buyer, no matter how much of a target they make themselves.

Im not trying to prove whether or not joymax bans silk buyers regularly in their bot bans, but rather if they will physically do it. Thus where i need your help and ideas.

even if you would get banned, it wouldn't be the same as the bans from the botlist...

i think the best thing you can do if try to find like 50 goldbots with a premium ticket (yes they have PT these days...), and just see if they appear on one of the bot lists the next weeks..

i believe some other dude is doing this too, but with only 4 goldbotters... which is not enough :banghead:

if only 1 of them would appear on the banlist, it's enough to prove that silk buyers can get banned.

Well if thats your point, Mission Accomplished; they will eventually ban you -- if anything for annoying the living shit out of them and saying you're violating the ToS. You make yourself that big of a target, eventually someones gonna notice and take some action.

I don't see what you're gonna gain out of this if you're going to continue on with this plan; when its obvious what the outcome is.

My point? to prove its possible.

You say the outcome is obvious, than why do we have people arguing that joymax wont ban people that buy silk? Im trying to ruin the argument of those that say its not possible >.>

If they ban someone who makes themselves a target why not ban someone who bots and buys silk? If they are willing to ban a silk buyer in general and bots in general, why not a silk buying bot?

if you want your account banned that much... do it.

but it just won't prove that botters who buy silk will get banned.

The problem is, you're not going to debunk this myth. It's been proven countless times with people who aren't even doing anything WRONG that aren't buying silk getting banned. If this myth was put into Myth Busters, they'd just go around looking at all the goldbots that have a pet and silver premium, continuing to not get banned. I actually put time and effort into figuring out what kind of people get banned from Hera, and EVERY SINGLE ONE hasn't bought silk for AT LEAST a month, if ever.

Nothing you solely do will be conclusive.

Unless they ban you...

I dont think will solve anything, after banning you or not, people will still some think the silk buyers bot get banned and others think not since they pay money. The only solution for what i think is to just simply wait, if gold bots knew that they wont get banned by buying silk, then all the goldbots start to get premium and once they do, you will notice that all the servers would get full as the way it was before the massive bans started.

The whole myth is about botters buying silk not getting banned.
There have been few silkbuyers that did get banned due to stupid behavior on their server or the forum.

Well i can tell you what i did long ago....(that also gotta be posted in the noob stories :D )
My friends got their accound hacked (later we found out who it is and how he did it, but that's anouther story)...
So i was a noobie back then, and they ask me to post a thread on sro official page, asking if there's a way to get the acc back or somethig (at that point we still didn't knew what happened)....and i posted it....explaining how they buy lots of silk every month, how they are legit, they don't use any programs, they are not botting, they also buy gold often... (yes, i didn't knew back than that buying gold is not part of the game, i thought it was like buying silk).....i also did posted their names....
Guess what....they are not banned....if that's helping you with your survey....

Nightbloom herself was banned from the Joymax forums long ago and she buys silk, they even attempted to block her from the game but somehow that didn't even work. Ask her yourself, she will verify this. Of course they ban silk buyers if you piss them off enough.

Umm no, Ive never been blocked.

But i do know several people that buy silk that have been blocked. Using SRF as a way to gage who is getting banned for botting while using silk is ummm... pretty much impossible. Anyone who admits to botting gets banned. If you really want an accurate count, ask on the innumerable bot sites.

it is obvious that JM is detecting altered clients. Most bots dont alter the client. So the people that are getting banned are falling into the "not spending money on this game" category. That doesnt mean JM doesnt ban silk buyers. SRO is one of the biggest free games out there so a large majority of people are non silk buyers for whatever reason.

Every single lvl 90 I've seen so far has prem plus and pet, people know whos botting, jm knows also, they just have a system to filter out peeps with silk. :D

http://www.rev6.com/guild.asp?guild=ven_gt

out of ~30 goldbots, the one that arent banned are the one that display prem ticket.

This won't prove anything, if you want your proof just go dw, and check the lvl 90 botters pvping, why they aren't banned? not because its hard to detect, it's because they have prem, simple as that.

- Buy iSRO-Bot
- Login with the char you have bought silk with (Altleast 500 silk in the last 2 months and a few thousand silk in the last year)
- Take an uncensored screenshot of your char with a bot promp in the chat box.
- Post that picture on the official Silkroad Forums.

If you get not banned, its the theory proven.

all the 90 botters i know (a lot), play like crazy, buy silk like crazy, upgrade their stuff like crazy, none of them have been banned!!!
why do you want JM ban people who make their game run, their only problem is gold bot who are making money on their back........ for the rest, leave the (game) life going on .........

Yes a long time ago when JM cared.
Still, unless proven otherwise his ban was a ToS violation that he had been warned about, not a bot punishment.
