...to stand up to a rogue as an int?
i just now played ctf... i died, spawnraped... only 1 rogue (daggers) was at the spawn, i was like, ure mine... i spawn, snowshield on, 1 nuke... he attacks 500, 500, crit 1000, im dead...
i mean wtf? warriors make 200, crit about 500...
i rly didnt know it was so aggressive... 1st time pvp with a rogue...
should i avoid rogues, is this a massive fail by JM or is this gonna change?

Probably a massive fail, Joymax was never too good at balancing things out

Strategize your moves. I find rogues some of the easiest to PvP because of their low defense. Yes, they have very high damage with their buffs activated but that's your chance to strike, when their defense is laughably low. When they're not buffed and (most likely) attacking you with bless spell on, attempt to stop them. It's easier than you think.

believe me i know how you feel >.< .
the only class that i found useful is the warlock class...mainly due to the stun...since it's an instant cast skill
stun --> 2 curses --> nuke and the rogue is dead. also it's great to use against a dagger rogue emerging from stealth..
but besides that you will just have to come up with a strategy. try using ice imbue? or the ice freeze first to slow him down. or if you have s/s try kding him fast.
what is your build btw?

Pretty easy to win against a rogue, just use your weapon skills and not your nukes, since most rogues have more mag defence than phy defence.

what is your build btw? full int s/s, thinking about going hybrid later... ye don't try to nuke the rogue...it takes too long and the rogue can use 2..if not 3 skills by the time your nuke launches...quickly phantom to him and use kd and pray it works...use stab...and if he's not dead use a chain ^_^ plus use the bicheon phys def increase buff....should help. btw if the rogue has sox daggers...he might still be able to kill you too fast...nothing you can do about it.

XD Well, the only INT build I've played with vs a rogue was my Warlock/Cleric, and that was all based on probability. Dagger rogues like to use Stealth, then Prick you but thats a very slow-loading skill that you have enough time as a Warlock to stun them. So I won a few times but lost as well. But again, it all depends on your strategy. =)
Since you're a Chinese character, you can always use Ice Wall to build up a nuke and kill them before they destroy your wall. =)

what is your build btw? This tactic wont work on rogue/clerics, i pvped wit a warlock we did like 10 rounds and i won them all, the Holy word protects you from curses, also only 1 curse was working and that was disease curse.

You don't need sun, just a decent set with full blues maxed. Even with my garm set, i'm also pure int, and decent snow shield + ironwall, i was tanking a rogue and a bowmen that were 1-2 lvls below me respectively.
All the advices are right, if the rogue really is ur lvl, you should be able to 1 hit nuke him unless you have a huge gap or something's off. the shield series is def useful since the short def burst is usually more than enough for you to stand there and cast 2-3 nukes which against most ppl should = them being dead.

I find against rogues that either the smashing tree, the knockdowns, and your ice nuke are quite effective, smash hits fast and does decent damage, if you have crosswire or stone smash then the rogue is dead, and if not then add a shout on the end of it and that should deal with him, for xbow i find that book1 ice nuke will often 1 shot them, if they have CE on, as long as your not knocked down or knocked back.

Rogues are pathetically weak. With ice shield on you should do fine, they're a one shot with CE or DD on. And if they dont use CE or DD they're just lol-worthy. One nuke and they 're dead.
If you're under 70, yeah they'll be a bitch, once you get higher lvl you can just laugh at them though.
