So as was discussed here, it is possible to hijack the ingame scripting system during the intro sequence. This opens up a world of possibilities as far as movie-making goes, because it gives almost total control over the camera and the world.
Taking this idea a step further, I removed the interface for the login screen, giving me a nice full screen shot. Additionally, it is possible to spawn characters of any race, skin, level, or equipment and animate them. In fact, there is even a random function to allow completely random camera movements and characters. Here is a demonstration: Code: Select all
Just figured I'd share because I thought the scripting system was kind of cool.

Our Cruor, who art in heaven, Hallowed be thy Name. Thy server come. Thy pk2 be done, On earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily experience. And forgive us our noob actions, As we forgive those who noob against us. And lead us not into temptation, But deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever and ever. Amen.
How exactly do you control the camera and how versatile is it? I've always wanted to make SRO movies with a camera detached from my character. The only way I could do it is to pk2 a character as a camera from one comp by completely making the textures transparent.
This find will indeed expand movie-making.
EDIT: Ahhh... I just checked it out. It's very flexible. You can add as many camera movements as you want.

The song is called Shining Star, and it actually does play during the intro. It's an official song for kSRO, so it was in the Music.pk2 file.

That's some excellent work you've got there! I never really got into trying to find the camera scripting or such. I took a few looks but didn't come up with anything good. All I figured out was how to lock the camera in place and directly change the view. It's still great to see people having fun with going beyond just playing the game Keep up the good work
