Hello out there. I have now downloaded the game and I will play it for the first time. But I have some questions.

1. Is there some difference between all server? Can I make a char on Rome and play it on Venice? ( I have already learn some names :P )

2. Im live in sweden, is there some server with better ping and less kicks for me. ?

3. Is Silkroad a game for a guy who have checked WOW (World of warcraft) and think that it looks good and nice.

4. Are there some old Tibiaplayers here who would like to drop an comment to an old Danubian about this game ( Im thinking about all the fun you have had in X-roads. )

Thanks in advance, yours Nippe ;)

Ps. Sorry for my bad english Ds.

I can only answer that question. No you cant use a character that you created on one server to play on another server. you need to make a new character for each server.

1. no the servers looks all the same, although..you can swap between servers with your char

2. hmmm, SRO dont work with ping (like FPS)..it is al the same for every country (correct me if I'm wrong tho =)

3. you dont have to be here for über graphics =) especially if you checked WoW already

4. O.o

Thanks for the fast answers to a newbie :)

CodeOfSilence:No you cant use a character that you created on one server to play on another server

XMoshe: no the servers looks all the same, although..you can swap between servers with your char

I feel like you talk to eachother :P ?

So my character on Rome will show up on Venice to ? (If i want to play with my friend. hmm I have no friend in silkroad yet) but if i get a friend who play on Venice that is possible to meet him ingame and do quests and so ?

What I talk about ping, I mean ofcourse less lag. I think if some servers are near sweden.. not so much lag. Or is all servers somewhere on the other side of the world ?

I like the screenshots I have seen and wow looks to hard for me :)

No problem dude :)

I wait for some answers from swedish (or near) players what server I will take to have less lag as possible.

For the moment I cant log in :S Just get an error message.
Disconnected, and when i push confirm the game will shutdown.

I dont get up !!

if i was you....i would personally think hard and long before
make a character in this game..its best to plan ahead your build and know
in game talk, events(trades and such), and what certain people are like.

This way you can have a good SRO experience.

:D

Thanks for the info dude, you have some tips for me ?
Should I test to make a char on some random server and learn the game and make a new char later ?
Or is that to much time ?

yeah idd...=)

and again about the servers...they are all positioned in Korea so you will have as bad (or as less)(lol xD) lag in Xian while in Rome (although...I would go for a bit older server tho, high lvl's but rome/red sea and shit, the population of those are lvl 2/3 botters lol) my opinion tho =)

/Edit: the builds..take a look at characters/skills and the guides section =) it depends on whether you wanna tank and do low dmg, or deal high dmg but suck with health =)

I have now made a char on Rome, I´m also logged on :)
Running in city with a lot of people, I will now explore and see how I can kill some monsters :)

Wish me good luck :)

If you have some "first-time-logged-on-tips" Just bring em :)

My advice to anyone that doesn't already have time and hours and hours of effort already spent building a character......

Don't do it!!!!

I love SRO but the owners of the game offer virtually no customer service and we have a situation where the numbers of bots are growing exponentially.

If we aren't already outnumbered then we will be soon.

And what this translates into is this....

1. Lagg
2. Disconnection
3. Frustration to even connect to the server

Until Joymax sell the game, or actually decide to resolve these probs then your experience will be one of annoyance and anger, like most of us here.

Already we've seen ppl leaving this game in big numbers, to go to WoW.

Good luck with your choice :)

TIBIA FTW... man i was stuck on that game for ages... possibly the worse graphics ever.. but the community, service, updates were awesome compared to SRO... it actually had quests with puzzles instead of endlessly grinding....

SRO has probably some of the best Free MMORPG graphics

I would recommend starting in a newer server.. ie Rome, Red Sea.... I would avoid those four servers which are always crowded (Oasis.. and i dont remember the other 3 but you can tell which ones they are cause you cant ever get on...)

If you want an easy time. i would pick Glavie as a weapon and go full strength.... this build has the fewest necessary skills therefore you dont have to farm as much

If you want multiple moves I would recommend a Pure INT nuker.. with fire and lightning... but this build takes lots of skill points
The pure int nuker does the most damage, levels up the fastest, but is easy to kill PVP.

:banghead: How come no one was this nice to me when I first started silkroad! >.< I asked some questions and some stupid dude would yell "nOOb!" and run away "lol'ing" like a stupid idiot! but when I think about it, it's pretty funny :D

Here are some of the things I found out while playing silkroad...

1. Think of a build before you start playing the game(I had to start a new char because of this)

2. find out ways to make some money..because you'll need ALOT of it. Most noobie's sell elements...

3. I went through lvl 26 without joining a guild since I wanted to make myown...Join a good guild asap...they help you ALOT.

4. Don't become a hunter or theif until you reach a higher lvl -.- or else you'll die.

5. Make alot of friends...they give you free stuff if they're nice enough :D lol, when my friends figured out that I was a girl, I got loads of free gold, weapons, and even a free wolf :D I'm glad I'm a girl

6. watch out for npc theifs...they will kill you, I die atleast twice a day because of them. Just run away when you see a theif or when you see a trader

7. Before you sell something, find out the real price first...don't get ripped off. Find a trusty friend and ask him for sigestions...I sold a lvl 10 sos for 10 k...-.- I'm sooo stupid

8. Don't try to talk to a "bot" because they won't respond..lol

9. that's all I can think of, :D I hope this helps

Im level 5 now, I have done some quests, it was a fun game.

I have heard that you should make all skillpoints on one or two upgrades?
Not all ?
I have saved all my points, if Im upgrade inexample fire can I use some specials then to easier kill monsters?

I like this game
