 Post subject: elixers/weapon breaking during alchemy

i just turned lvl 42 and i bought an sos lvl 42 eu shield. i wanna make it +3, but what are the chances of it breaking during the alchemy?? i never thought it could break till i read it somewhere on the forum

Can only break when going for +6 or higher. (Some people claim +5 or higher, but I haven't seen that confirmed)
+3 is safe. It won't break.

actually it is really +5 or higher, i know so because my friends sos sword 64+5 try to +6 went kaboom without immortal :)

So no...It's possible going for +6 or higher (that means it's already +5)

I mean, it's safe going from 0->1, 1->2, 2->3, 3->4 and 4->5. Going 5->6 and up you'll need steady/immortal to prevent it from breaking or getting dura reduce.

i have a crossbow +3 if i wanted to make it +4 is there a chance it will go back to +0?

yea rofl, and the chance is quite big

btw, I thought it could break from +4 to +5 too.. altho the chance is very very small..

too late for that reply. My best crossbow i ever had is +0 but hey its 3 str i guess
