CTF is almost fun everytime (losing or winning).
But last time something unexpected (for me) happend in the phase
of killing the mobs.
Tanks were running around with 2 or 3 mobs (birds) behind them,
wizards dying by the dozen.
One tank attacked a mob, I tried to stand behind him and started
nuking after he had taunted the mob. I was attacked immediately by
two mobs in the back.
Never had this experience before.
Somethng in strategy or skills went wrong.
Missing a cleric? Do I have to develop some bard skill?
(I have bard as sub, only with speed en noise, damned lack of SP, you know).

Finally a dumbo opened our gate, so the enemies came in and we were all dead :banghead:

Please advise.

I had the same experience last night around 9 pm Central on my level 34 wiz and a couple of union mates with several unknown players. We had two wizards with SoS and a good cleric from our union, but were all under 40. There was a Chin bow, a rogue, two warriors and a nuker to fill out the rest of the party.

The tanks didn't know what to do, they attacked separate mobs, while in range of the aggro of OTHER mobs. The cleric couldn't keep them all alive, nor could he keep us wizards alive, so almost everyone died.

About 10 minutes in to CTF we managed to aggro all the birds and get them in the back by the old secret room. Then they kind of scattered and the tanks could pull one at a time for the wizards to kill, while the cleric was able to heal. Repeated the process and we finally killed all the birds with perhaps a minute to spare. We rushed out of the hallway but couldn't get in to the opposing team's room - as they hadn't opened the door nor killed all the mobs yet. We got 1 ticket for winning the match.

For a successful ctf(with monsters that aren't bugged) you need :
- a warrior that knows what to do(taunts, holds monsters)
- a cleric that knows what to do(basically just heal and res, keep the tank alive)
- everyone else in the team must only attack what the warrior is attacking.

None of this attacking monsters on your own, realizing that you can't handle it, running around aggro-ing more monsters, finally noticing that the warrior and cleric are still alive, running towards the warrior and cleric only to die and have the monsters spread like grenade shrapnel to kill the rest of the party while spamming ressssssssssssssssssssssssssss.

Also, note that you must say "NO KEY", otherwise most of the non-english speakers will grab the key as soon as they see it drop. This may or may not work.

searched and found an old CTF guide, including references to the bugs, still seems good.
