Hello, I need a bit of help I am new to SRO and looking for someone to answer some of my questions. My first question is what is the max level in this game and does level mean a lot in SRO? Also I am into PvP in most MMOs that I have played. So my question is what level and when do you get to pvp and how does it work is it a arena like system or battle ground or a battle zone/area or duels/1v1. My second question is about PvE content like raids, dungeons, world bosses and what not. Is there any if so how many people does it take to complete the raid/dungeon. Also the difficulty and the quality of the raid/dungeon. Okay now that those questions are out of the way. What is the fastest way to level? Do I just grind or do quests or do I both? Gear how do you come
about getting the gear and the stats you want to be equipping for your character. I play a Heuksal Spearmanship I am following a build so I now were to put my points. But help is always welcome.

Any other advice is going to be really help for me and my friends to read so we can advance are play in game.

Highest level is 110 or 120.
You can pvp at level 20 using the unique jobbing system, also you can do capture the flag. Fortress wars and other serious pvp is not till the higher levels just like WoW arenas. Also their is cape pvp which is pretty much dueling outside of a town.

Do both questing and grinding, but only do the quests that are for monsters you actually get decent xp from.

dungeons are sort of fun when you first do them, but aren't very challenging once you get use to them..just like WoW heroics

Welcome to SRF, I'll try my best to answer these questions to your satisfaction ^^
My first question is what is the max level in this game and does level mean a lot in SRO? Also I am into PvP in most MMOs that I have played.
Max lvl is 110. Lvl means alot in this game, there aren't many lower lvl's in this game, and the ones that are lower lvl are usually out there grinding or being plvled.
So my question is what level and when do you get to pvp and how does it work is it a arena like system or battle ground or a battle zone/area or duels/1v1.
Well there are different types of PvP, you got cape pvp, job, guild wars, ctf, battle arena and probably some others I'm forgetting.
- Cape pvp is possible from lvl 5-10 and up although I wouldn't recommend it till you are like 76+ and even then you'll get killed over and over by the assholes that are higher lvl.
- Jobs were meant to be the backbone of this game but there is hardly any jobbing, at lvl 20 you can choose a job (switching takes ~7 days).
- Ctf is an event that got implemented a long time ago where the focus lies on killing mobs, gaining a key from them and then killing the opponents and taking the flag. The problem with ctf is that not many people play it anymore and you get in fucked up teams (lvl 30 with lvl 100 etc).
- I do not know too much about the others so you will have to hope for someone else to help you with that hehe

My second question is about PvE content like raids, dungeons, world bosses and what not. Is there any if so how many people does it take to complete the raid/dungeon. Also the difficulty and the quality of the raid/dungeon.
Things like dungeons are non existent untill lvl 101+, from that lvl and up you get temples which contain unique mobs that you can kill for exp/items/quests. World bosses are there in the form of other uniques that spawn every 3-5/7 hours in a certain area. The problem with these is that they are a certain lvl but there is no lvl cap. So the lvl 20 unique will get hunted by lvl 100+ people, same goes for the other higher lvl uniques. There are no raids in SRO.
Okay now that those questions are out of the way. What is the fastest way to level? Do I just grind or do quests or do I both?
The fastest way is just to put your mind to zero and grind grind grind, there has been an update a while back which increased the rewards on quests so there are some quests now that are worth it to pick up but besides that I would focus on grinding untill 100+
Gear how do you come about getting the gear and the stats you want to be equipping for your character.
Monsters will drop items. Gear, weapons, accessory, pots, alchemy materials etc etc. It's up to you to choose which you will collect and what you leave on the ground. If you can't find proper lvl gear you can always take a look at the NPC's in the different towns, they sell the so called 'npc gear' and is good enough for grinding at lower lvl's.
I play a Heuksal Spearmanship I am following a build so I now were to put my points. But help is always welcome.
Before I can give you some decent advice I will need some more information on what you are going to do, which other trees will you take (Heuksal is a tree, you have Bicheon/Heuksal/Pacheon/Ice/Fire/Light/Force) and what your build will be (str/int or a bit of both).
Any other advice is going to be really help for me and my friends to read so we can advance are play in game.
Not really, but if you have any other questions feel free to ask here or pm me. I'll be happy to help.

Fortress Wars are really interesting, but u don't stand a chance unless u are like lvl 90+. There u have to take over a fort by destroying the gates, obstacles, defensive structures and the fortress heart and kill your enemies. The next fortess war u have to defend it from others, when u were successful taking it over the last time.

Guild wars can be done at lower lvls too, but it's better at higher lvls.

Battle Arena takes place once every day. There are different modes: Mob hunting for points(includes pvp) and Capture the flag(this ctf is without mobs). There are also different types like random matching(teams get put together randomly, 8 ppl in the team), party matching(the party leader registers the party as one team, 8 ppl in the team), guild matching(the guild master registeres 16 players form the guild as a team), job matching(u register while wearing a job suit, 32 ppl in a team, randomly put together). The map, number of mobs and flags depends on the sizes of the teams.

There are instance dungeons starting at 35. With 4 difficulties. There u can also collect talismans to get a 8/9/10 degree sun or 11 degree egyptian nova weapon.

The other stuff was basically explained already. :)

For cape pvp go to Samarkand South, it's one of the towns in the eastern parts of the map.
Battle Arena can be joined by talking to the Arena Manager in any town at the specific time.
For job you first have to join a league, then buy your jobsuit, equip it and you are good to go. Jobbing is over the whole map.
CTF is joined the same way as BA but you have to talk to So-ok at the specified times (a 10min warning is given).
Guild wars are made by being in a guild and inviting, or challenging, another guild to a war.

Looking at ur build u should add all points to STR.
U can stick to ur build with Heuksal/Fire/Lightning, that is a more PvE based build.
Or u can go Heuksal/Fire/Lightning 80/Cold 30, that is good in PvE and PvP(more in group PvP)

But i f u like 1on1 u can go Heuksal/Fire/Cold or Heuksal/Fire/Force. The last one is the best one for 1on1, but since u are new, i wouldn't recommend going for these 2. They will require some mastery deleveling as well.

Now about these skills. Right now i'm only talking about the masteries included in the first 2 builds i mentioned.

In Heuksal u should level the first tree(Annihilating Blade) until u get Ghost Spear Petal at lvl 19, then u don't need it any more(i still use the skill, but i have farmed about 450k sp, i'm talking about a sp friendly and u can get through without this skill).
In the next tree(Fanning Spear) u should lvl only the 1st, 3rd and 6th books(u don't need the other ones that much).
Heuksal Spear Series is a must to lvl. So is the Soul Departs Series, cos it's gonna be ur strongest skill and Ghost Spear series must be lvled as well.
The Chain Spear series is not a must, u can take them for fun or for hunting mobs, cos they aren't that good in PvP(to save sp u should skip this tree).
And Cheolsam Force must be maxed, that's where u get ur extra HP from.

In Fire u should max the first tree(Fire Force), that's gonna be ur imbue, Flame body must be lvled, Fire Protection and Flame Devil Force as well.
Fire shield, Fire Wall, Fire combustion are optional. Take Fire Shield for immunity against statuses(very helpful in PvP), but u are gonna need to carry a shield to cast the skill. Fire Wall is another thing that's very helpful in PvP and in some situations in PvE as well. Fire Combustion is just for detecting invisible Wizards and Rogues, can be detected with pots that cost quite a bit though.
U don't need the Flame Wave Series cos those are for INT chars.

In Lightning, max only Piercing Force, Grass Walk, Concentration and Heaven's Force.
U don't need the Thunder Force Series cos u already have the imbue from Fire, but u can use Light imbue for better crits in PvE, not PvP cos most players are immune or pill the statuses off fast(Fire imbue does more damage).
U don't need Lion Shout and Thunderbolt Force cos those are for INTs.

In Cold(if u choose the second build) Take only Frost Guard, Snow Shield and Cold Armor. U don't need Snow Storm, Frost Nova, Cold Wave and Cold Force. But u can take the Frost Wall Series, can be helpful in some cases, like against Warlocks, acts like Fire Wall, but for Phy Attacks.
