there's the default npc crown that looks invisible but can i pk2 edit to the helmet so it shows on my character while playing instead of a bare head?
if there is a way, whats the code?

Just do the normal PK2 edit. It changes headgear to the kind that shows.

if i only have the crown, how do i make it appear as a helmet?

the crown and helmet are different peices of armour, thus different names...
helmets u usually get from drop, aswitch some time you get crowns...
out of experiance buying the helmet off of people seems to be the best way, they have the same attrbiutes just the helmet looks better...
