ITS NOT A DNS ISSUE!!!!!!!!!! I have used public DNS and it still doesn't work. Yes Joymax has DNS issues but none that adelphia has blocked b/c of them(issues).

When using public DNS it still doesn't work, and I have tried DNS from everywhere.

In my most recent conversation with a tech person from adelphia/TW they told me I would be switching to comcast on 10/08/2006. If your service is switching to comcast in your next chat with them ask if this is true.

aww man they're actually just like dropping their service? that's messed up. Comcast sucks ASS! They're actually more hated than AOL at this very moment. They may be the worst ISP ever. If I were you, I'd drive past Adelphia's office and moon em (then Comcast's too)
And it seriously is a DNS issue, you just can't fix it that way cuz they sort of kind of have what I guess you could call a DNS server but not really on the very outside of their network that filters tons and tons of spam and bad IP's. There's no getting around until you're outside the Adelphia owned network (aka a proxy). Go to road runner's site and see if you can get their service around you.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Congrats on finding documentation on reverse-DNS and then posting the info that you found on the forum and claiming dominance. It was great.

But the real reason I am "lmao" is because you actually believe you can hack into your ISP's DNS servers. One second...

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAH

Honestly, you are nowhere close to "Adelphia's" DNS servers.

Keep trying buddy.

But just to make it clear to those who may not understand DNS and such, if Adelphia had a block on thier DNS servers for SilkRoad, changing your DNS to another provider's DNS would solve the problem.

Please for the love of G-d, don't believe a word Desolator is saying.

Also, the only real application of reverse DNS used in networks today is on mail servers. You want your mail server to point to a proper host that is not going to be blocked. I suspect you "knew" or read about that when you were studying up. Either way, ISPs could care less if you have reverse DNS set up on your website.

You may know a lot about computers, but you honestly have no idea how the internet works.

actually those were screenshots I took during my Web Server Administration class on Tuesday night. Oh we're on chapter 4: DNS Name Resolution. And the instructor talked about exactly what happens when you don't have reverse DNS entries...oh but you think you know more than him and me. It was all a rerun to me so I was busy getting beat like 15 times in a row at Reversi by Redhat, lol...I hate Linux. It's a wonder crazy people like you can even type.

Please hack into Adelphia's DNS server. I would like to see this.

Actually, don't get yourself in trouble. Lets hear the steps that you would go through to hack into said DNS server. Please? I would like a laugh.

Also, maybe you should pay a bit more attention in class. I sincerly hope you do not end up in this field. You are in for a world of hurt.

He would be happy to show you how, as soon as he found that pesky any key.

lol, this is easy
1. find out what OS the server is using
2. steal the admin password. Won't go into detail on that one cuz, it's kinda like one of these things:
Image
and some of the ppl here are crazy little kids *cough cough alittlebird cough*
3. remote desktop or ftp in according to what OS it's running and add a new reverse lookup zone for SRO's web server

but like I said, if they have a top level security filter it wouldn't help.
Now if you'll excuse me, these turkish bastards http://cyberraider.sitemynet.com/hackedby.gif had the audacity to hack my php board through a security hole that I can't patch because Ipowerweb SSSSSSSUUUUUUUUUCCCCCCCCCCKKKKKKKKKKSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :x :x :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :x
Don't worry though, I'll pay em back

Again, you have not even came close to "hacking" Adelphia's DNS. I can also verify you are not going to have the ability to "remote" into the DNS server.

Also, the "OS" of the server is going to be UNIX. You would need to telnet to said server. You would then need to have a username and password for write access to that server. Once you have all of that, you then need to be fluent in UNIX in order to rewrite the file to supposedly allow access to this website. However, you won't get far as it the issue has absolutely nothing to do with DNS, as has been stated millions of time.

Better luck next time.

I know I have stated DNS wasn't the problem. Here it is from a tech person. With a date of migration.
chat id : 1053767
Problem : Other
advanced_tool_log > analyst Mark G has entered room
Mark G > Thank you for contacting your Online Internet Support. Please describe how I may assist you while I look into your account information and contact history.
ice > I was wondering if there had been any progress with the Silkroad Online problem? Then I was also wondering if anyone knows a date yet for the migration?
Mark G > There has not been an update from Joymax about silroad online at this point. The initial belief that it was our DNS proved to be false so we are still working on a resolution on that issue. I am checking to see if we have any migration information on your area, one moment
Mark G > Broward County is in the process of a migration right now, the tentative completion date is the 8th, however it may continue on past that if necessary
ice > Where is Broward County?
ice > Is that the service that delivers my Cable?
Mark G > It is part of your billing "corp" or area, it should include your services
ice > So the actual service will be switched around the 8th? I know my billing information is already with them
Mark G > Tentativley, yes
ice > Ok. One more thing...
Mark G > Sure
ice > Would this migration date(tentatively) affect Virginia users? I am trying to get information for quite a few users. And York Pennsylvania?
Mark G > I am not sure how many areas this would effect to be honest
ice > Ok. Thank You.
