so, people in the OTL have directed me here =p
anyways, my one of my hardrives is screwed up, whenever i download something onto it, my comp restarts
this also goes for when i scan it with pretty much anything

my other hardrive is a-ok, so its just the one that has problems

EDIT: i now cannot run any games or stay on firefox too long, b/c my comp will restart when i do that
help any1? :banghead:
EDIT2: just running my comp to long and leaving it, then suddenly doing something also restarts it now also
EDIT3:so i am reformating my harddisks, but i am getting some errors, and currently my computer is unavailable(im editing this on a laptop)
EDIT4:i reinstalled my drivers, reformated my harddisks, and its now running smoothly. hope it stays

Step 1: Check your memory. Download it from http://www.memtest86.com/.
Step 2: Check your HD. Run scandisk in extensive mode.
Step 3: Check the temperature in your system. There are multiple sensors on your motherboard, and I'm sure there's some software you got with it that will make them visible to you.
Step 4: Trial and error: borrow some spare parts, and exchange the hardware in your computer one at a time to see if that solves the problem. Make sure you wear a wriststrap linked to the metal of your computer case or let someone do it who knows what he's doing.

so, i no it was my hard disks
i replaced them with some spare hard disks, and my computer works fine now
but the spare is only a 30GB disk, and i do not want to really keep it, cuz my other hardisks were both 160GB
so should i reformat my old ones and hope they work?

Quick Easy Fix Turn off your computer, beat it with a hammer. If it turns back on when prompted, turn it back off and do again until it doesn't come on again. Once that is taken care of, go get a book and learn about computers.
