i also need a new graphics card and after seeing AvAlAnChE1's topic, i though you guys could help me out....
okay so i dont know much about graphics cards and all that mumbo jumbo, but i have managed to find a few good (or at least that i think are good) cards, and also im hoping for $100 or less...
well i cant see the difference between these 2(if there is one?):
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6814130290
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6814130292
then there is a few more:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6814130099
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6814161178
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6814161210
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6814150258
or if there is any better ones you guys know of around my price range please
let me know about that
i could also use some ram and found this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6820145034
which is a pretty good deal or should i go for 4gb?

EDIT: typos :)

id say go with the first one you linked, it might cost a bit more but it will win in the long run and be worth your money.

it seems the SLI for the 56 *the cheap version* doesn't always work, and that the 57 *more expensive* fixes this problem. that and the fact that evga doesnt even list the 56 on its website lol xD. and by reading the reviews it looks like the 57 is allot better then the 56 so id say the extra 30 or so bucks would be worth it so you could stay away from possible hours of agonizing over what could be wrong with your card :)

I would also take the first one.
Difference is the 1st uses newer memory (GDDR3), while the 2nd uses GDDR2.

I got another remark. Your fx5200 was an AGP card right? These new cards are all pci-e. Maybe you'll need a new motherboard too.

These 2 are a no-no. Actually, all of these are pretty much no-nos.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6814130292

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6814130099

However, if you would like my opinion, its between these 2:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6814150258

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6814130290

I own an nVidia 8800 GTS (640MB), and let me tell you, this card runs amazingly smooth. My friend had an nVidia back from '99 and it still runs new video games. Probably not as good as mine, but it still gets the job done. Always choose nVidia is what I say.
