all good.. maybe some day in 2008 when the get a smart tech guy at joymax.. jsut maybe.. 8) :P

If your ISP would adjust and accept crappy DNS info, then there wouldn't be a problem.

BTW, has anyone tried changing their DNS servers to 4.2.2.1 and 4.2.2.2 yet?

if adelphia had fixed the problem then we would all be playing like so many others and jett are you so blind that you believe adelphia saying they fixed their end, that's another way of them laying blame back on joymax to shut us up.And you fell for it, and we all know that we can e-mail joymax all we want and nothing going to happen, so what are we to do,bug the hell out of adelphia till they let the dns run as it is,it never hurt before why should it hurt now :?: this is just another way adelphia gets by with blaming someone else for their bs

You don't seem to realize that if it were on Joymaxs end, I wouldnt be able to play right now. The dns has errors, so their servers wont accept it. They need to manually enter it or lower restrictions. Its on your ISPs end.

Hate to say it bro But Chaud is rite..My isp Adelphia/TWC , r the only isp's who won't accept the dns the way it is. Joymax will not change it trust me so. Either change isp(which i can't casue only HSI in my area)or paly through proxy(like me i was until it died, but now i can't find a new 1). So, basically Adelphia needs to get enoguh complaints to accept the DNS, or were screwed. SRO permanently done =-(

from Adelphia/TWC I wrote them an e-mail

Thank you for contacting Time Warner Cable's Road Runner Internet
Support. The problem is that the IP addresses do not have a reverse look up
set up and this is why you are not able to get to the site. The IP
addresses have to have a reverse look up in order for it to propagate
correctly to all DNS servers. At this time our DNS servers are set up to
only see IP address that do have reverse look up for the DNS. You will
need to contact them to have the IP address set up to have reverse look up
on them in order for the DNS to propagate correctly.

Sincerely,
Tom

They create a new excuse every time a point is made to help them do their job. They are determined to not help what so ever.

Tom B > The problem is that the IP address do not have any reverse DNS on them and our servers are set up to only see ip address that do have reverse DNS.
csl_NLI > So you finally admit that there is a problem on your end?
csl_NLI > Well, with that said, how about you set up your servers to see IP adresses that do not have reverse DNS?

He went on to more or less say it's not his responsibility to help out Adelphia users or to do what he is paid to do. Adelphia has low satisfactory customer service, even though they advertise quality customer service. From experience with cable outtages I can tell you that they do their best to not do their job and to procrastinate to the best of their abilities. I recommend switching to a local ISP or DSL provider if there is an option in the area.

You might have better luck going to AOL dial-up if you Adelphia costumers want to play SRO soon again. Hey, I heard that you can play SRO even on dial-up. :-P

Well I just got done with my own webchat with them.

Allen L(Thu Sep 21 18:32:57 EDT 2006)>What can I do for you?

stalktheground23_NLI(Thu Sep 21 18:33:22 EDT 2006)>Well, there has been a problem affecting A LOT of customers

stalktheground23_NLI(Thu Sep 21 18:33:27 EDT 2006)>and nothing is being done to solve it

stalktheground23_NLI(Thu Sep 21 18:33:29 EDT 2006)>the problem is

stalktheground23_NLI(Thu Sep 21 18:34:09 EDT 2006)>There is an online game "Silkroad Online" played by many of your customers. Now, we can not play anymore. The reason? Your DNS servers only allow ISPs that have reverse look up.

stalktheground23_NLI(Thu Sep 21 18:34:24 EDT 2006)>The problem is not getting fixed, and you will probably give me the same old story and not do anything

stalktheground23_NLI(Thu Sep 21 18:34:46 EDT 2006)>but this needs to be addressed, there are many customers that are not able to play this game now and it means a lot to them

stalktheground23_NLI(Thu Sep 21 18:35:01 EDT 2006)>also, it is not a problem on Joymax's part so please do not say this.

stalktheground23_NLI(Thu Sep 21 18:35:44 EDT 2006)>you NEED to fix your servers so you can see also see ISPs that do not have reverse lookup

Allen L(Thu Sep 21 18:35:52 EDT 2006)>What is the url for that site?

stalktheground23_NLI(Thu Sep 21 18:36:04 EDT 2006)>http://www.silkroadonline.net

Allen L(Thu Sep 21 18:38:10 EDT 2006)>The issue is this

Allen L(Thu Sep 21 18:39:23 EDT 2006)>I have done an NS look up using the backbone provider to that site and it is the website's issue. It appears down. It is not resolving on a 3rd party webserver and it still is not resolving

stalktheground23_NLI(Thu Sep 21 18:40:21 EDT 2006)>All you need to do is set your DNS so that you can see ISPs that have no reverse lookup

Allen L(Thu Sep 21 18:40:20 EDT 2006)>You will need to contact that site admin to has this resolved

stalktheground23_NLI(Thu Sep 21 18:41:02 EDT 2006)>How will I contact the site admin if I can not access the website. Also, the game does not run from that website....

stalktheground23_NLI(Thu Sep 21 18:41:12 EDT 2006)>that is just the site for the game. YOu do not load the game from that website

Allen L(Thu Sep 21 18:41:26 EDT 2006)>Their hosting company is not providing the proper dns. This is happeining on other providers also

Allen L(Thu Sep 21 18:41:31 EDT 2006)>It is not jsut us

stalktheground23_NLI(Thu Sep 21 18:41:46 EDT 2006)>I know it is, it is starting to become a bigger problem

stalktheground23_NLI(Thu Sep 21 18:41:53 EDT 2006)>but it started off with you guys mainly

stalktheground23_NLI(Thu Sep 21 18:42:20 EDT 2006)>How come you guys just don't set your DNS servers to allow ISP without reverse lookup

stalktheground23_NLI(Thu Sep 21 18:42:58 EDT 2006)>goto this link, and give it a moment to load the whole page

stalktheground23_NLI(Thu Sep 21 18:43:11 EDT 2006)>it will show the top but there is all the problems lower but it takes a second to load

stalktheground23_NLI(Thu Sep 21 18:43:13 EDT 2006)>http://www.dnsreport.com/tools/dnsreport.ch?domain=www.silkroadonline.net

Allen L(Thu Sep 21 18:44:42 EDT 2006)>What is happening is the site you are trying to access has a DNS problem within their hosting company. Until that company has sorted out their own interior DNS we cannot update ours. Once that company has updated their records, they will report the information to us and all other ISPs. This problem is not confined to your connection. All other ISPs are receiving the same error.

Allen L(Thu Sep 21 18:45:33 EDT 2006)>Unfortunately, we do not have access to that hosting company's servers and this prevents us from making any change to thier equipment.

stalktheground23_NLI(Thu Sep 21 18:46:10 EDT 2006)>Ok, so what you are saying is it is up to us, the customers, to contact this company and tell them they have a problem?

Allen L(Thu Sep 21 18:46:51 EDT 2006)>I would imagine the company already knows the issue exists. If they do not, you would have to make them aware of the problem.

stalktheground23_NLI(Thu Sep 21 18:46:58 EDT 2006)>Shouldn't that be something a cable company that "prides itself on customer service" do? How is it up to us to contact them? SHouldn't you guys let them know that they need to fix their problem?

Allen L(Thu Sep 21 18:47:43 EDT 2006)>If we could fix the problem, we would. I can assure you of that. We do not know where this site is even located at. What IP address do you propose that we point our DNS to?

stalktheground23_NLI(Thu Sep 21 18:48:34 EDT 2006)>I'm not asking you to fix the problem, I am aware that they need to do things before this is resolved. I'm just saying, the least you guys can do is contact them and let them know, rather than telling your customers that its their problem and not yours.

Allen L(Thu Sep 21 18:48:55 EDT 2006)>As you can see from your dnsreport.com page that you sent me, the last known MX records point to http://220.73.220.61 and http://220.73.220.62 which do not point to any web address.

Allen L(Thu Sep 21 18:49:33 EDT 2006)>Unfortunately that is out of our control. We manage our own network and cannot be held responsible for the access of every website on the net. I apologize for the inconvience.

stalktheground23_NLI(Thu Sep 21 18:50:33 EDT 2006)>I understand that. But this will not be the last time you hear from a customer about this.

stalktheground23_NLI(Thu Sep 21 18:50:52 EDT 2006)>So many people are having problems with this one site.

stalktheground23_NLI(Thu Sep 21 18:50:57 EDT 2006)>Just this one.

stalktheground23_NLI(Thu Sep 21 18:51:08 EDT 2006)>You guys cant contact them and let them know?

stalktheground23_NLI(Thu Sep 21 18:51:28 EDT 2006)>this problem could be solved in 3-4 days if you cared about it.

stalktheground23_NLI(Thu Sep 21 18:51:37 EDT 2006)>But it has been over a week now

Allen L(Thu Sep 21 18:52:58 EDT 2006)>Do you have a contact for this person who maintains this site? You said that without the site you could not get the contact. How are we supposed to get the contact if you, yourself, cannot make contact with the person? We have the same access to that domain as you do. Read only. It is not that we do not care about the problem. It is simply that we do not have access to anything to correct this problem for you. I understand your are frustrated, however, this ISP or any other having the problem will not be able to fix it. This is all on the owner of the domain and his/her hosting company.

stalktheground23_NLI(Thu Sep 21 18:54:01 EDT 2006)>Alright, well then I will try to get a contact by talking to others not affected by this problem and I will contact you guys again.

stalktheground23_NLI(Thu Sep 21 18:54:08 EDT 2006)>Thank you for your help.

Seems We have reached an impass. Conclusion: Adelphia Sux, Although they blame it on joymax, Y do other ISP accept the DNS and not Adelphia. The One thing i use to escape stresses in my life has now been Terminated...LoFukinL
:banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

But basically whut it boils down to is that Joymax Understands our problem but who cares about ISRO, KSRO is where its at. We can all waste our time typing on this forum..And not one ..... thing will be done about it. It's Ridiculous. They still think that we r a bunch off noob and didint try goin to our host folder and put in the new ip. Ne way done wasting energy. Bought to go paly WoW Anoyone Care to join aim me

i spoke to Allen L and he mentioned that he talked to someone earlier:

clslaw_NLI>
i am having trouble getting on a website

Allen L>
What site

clslaw_NLI>
its a game site http://www.silkroadonline.net

clslaw_NLI>
i am also having trouble connecting to the server

Allen L>
http://www.silkroadonline.net is having a problem. Their hosting company needs to correct this.

clslaw_NLI>
the host company says its adelphia's fault for not accepting the DNS and adelphia users are the only ones having trouble connecting

Allen L>
I had another customer tonight with the same issue. We tried to connect through a third party provider and are not able to get the site

clslaw_NLI>
i can access the site through a proxy and my friends with different isp's can get on without a problem

Allen L>
What are your frineds DNS servers?

clslaw_NLI>
i dont know how do i find out

clslaw_NLI>
i just know that on every support website for the game i look on only adelphia customers cant get on

Allen L>
Have your friends check their IP config and get that information. What needs to be done is silkroadonline.net needs to contact our engineering department with the correct DNS servers they are using.

Allen L>
Well we,,, as I stated earlier tried through a third party connection and could not get there

clslaw_NLI>
http://www.projectbypass.com/perl/nph-p ... 2e6e65742f

Allen L>
If their site admin would contact us and give us the needed information you would not have this problem

clslaw_NLI>
thats the link thru a proxy

clslaw_NLI>
and i was able to access the site earlier today on a different isp

Allen L>
We canot contact each and every site on the internt and get the correct DNS from them
I

clslaw_NLI>
why is it only adelphia that cant get on?

Allen L>
It is not our responsibility to oprovide correct DNS for their site.

clslaw_NLI>
http://www.projectbypass.com/perl/nph-p ... 2e6e65742f

clslaw_NLI>
theres a dns report

Allen L>
as I stated earlier tried through a third party connection and could not get there

Allen L>
as I stated earlier tried through a third party connection and could not get there

clslaw_NLI>
so does every other isp go to every website?

Allen L>
Then tell their admin to give us the information

Allen L>
We need it from them

Allen L>
They are failing to provide it

clslaw_NLI>
http://www.dnsreport.com/tools/dnsrepor ... online.net

Allen L>
It is not our problem to call them and beg them for the info

Allen L>
They need to call us

clslaw_NLI>
i gave you the incorrect link before

Allen L>
Are you their admin?

clslaw_NLI>
this report contains all the currnet infromation for the dns

clslaw_NLI>
no im a customer that cant get on

Allen L>
Are you their admin?

clslaw_NLI>
no

Allen L>
We need their admin to contact us

Allen L>
They refuse

clslaw_NLI>
why cant you just take the information off the dns report and use that?

clslaw_NLI>
has adelphia tried to contact the company?

Allen L>
Sorry we are not responsible to contact them to make sure their site is working on our connection

Allen L>
There is more information we need from them than a report on line.

Allen L>
We need to speak to their admin

clslaw_NLI>
so what should i do then to solve the problem?

Allen L>
Do you have any other questions or concerns that I may assist you with today?

clslaw_NLI>
switch my isp?

Allen L>
We need to speak to their admin

Allen L>
We need to speak to their admin

clslaw_NLI>
has adelphia tried to contact their admin?

Allen L>
Sorry we are not responsible to contact them to make sure their site is working on our connection

clslaw_NLI>
or are you just waiting for the admin to contact you?

Allen L>
Sorry we are not responsible to contact them to make sure their site is working on our connection

clslaw_NLI>
maybe they dont know its not working

clslaw_NLI>
if they get a message from an isp maybe they'll correct it?

Allen L>
They have had several reports and are not answering any emails concerning this

Allen L>
We are well aware of it

Allen L>
Their admin is not responding at all

clslaw_NLI>
how come roadrunner is able to access this website but adelphia is not?

clslaw_NLI>
arent they the same now?

Allen L>
no they are not

Allen L>
The total change has not gone through

clslaw_NLI>
when will it go through?

Allen L>
there are also comcast, zitomedia and several other ISP"S having this issue

Allen L>
Do you have any other questions or concerns that I may assist you with today?

clslaw_NLI>
really because all i seem to hear is that it is adelphia

clslaw_NLI>
im talking to my friend right now who has comcast and he is having no problems

clslaw_NLI>
he is playing on the game server as we speak and has no problems accessing the website

Allen L>
I have spoken with several people on this issue. Our engineering team has researched it . the DNS that site has provided us is not working. IF they will contact us and give us the correct information...and again I sat IF THEY contact us we can get this resolved. THEY refuse to respond to us.........bottom line WE cannot contact them

Allen L>
Read what I jsut sent you

clslaw_NLI>
how come adelphia is the only isp?? wouldnt the other isps have the same problem

Allen L>
I have told you 5 times already. It is not just adelphia. we in this call center are not on adelphia's backbone and we cannot get it either

clslaw_NLI>
where is this call center?

clslaw_NLI>
india or united states?

Allen L>
in PA

clslaw_NLI>
so what isp are you on?

Allen L>
zito

Allen L>
Do you have any other questions or concerns that I may assist you with today?

clslaw_NLI>
maybe adelphia isnt the only one but why can comcast and roadrunner access it?

clslaw_NLI>
did the company personally contact them?

Allen L>
They have the correct DNS information

Allen L>
We do not and they will not respond to our attempt to contact them

clslaw_NLI>
why dont you try to contact another isp and get THEIR information if the host company is not responding?

Allen L>
since you contacted them personally you should have had them contact our engineering

clslaw_NLI>
im sure if someone from adelphia would contact someone from roadrunner they would share information especially because they are now owned by the same entity

Allen L>
let me ask you this

clslaw_NLI>
ask me what?

Allen L>
If you spoke to the site admin and told them the issue why did they not contact us ?

clslaw_NLI>
i did not speak with a site admin?

clslaw_NLI>
i never said i did

Allen L>
Then I misunderstood you sorry

clslaw_NLI>
apparently

Allen L>
We have tried to contact them personally

clslaw_NLI>
i just want to play the game

Allen L>
They will not answer our calls

clslaw_NLI>
i dont want to get into a technical discussion

Allen L>
They refuse to speak to us

clslaw_NLI>
is it possible for you to call another isp and get the information?

Allen L>
We cannot correct our issues without their information. It is different for each ISP

Allen L>
we need to speak to them and they are refusing to speak to us. simple as tthat

Allen L>
nothing we can do until they contact us

clslaw_NLI>
so back to my original question, it seems that the host comapny is not talking to anyone yet other isp's have the info and can access the site

clslaw_NLI>
why is adelphia different?

Allen L>
That host company changed their DNS They did not inform us of the change. They must have informed other isp's but the dns we have is not working. They need to give us the current information

Allen L>
they refuse to contact us, we have tried several times.

Allen L>
Earlier one of our engineers tried to contact them and they did not return his call

clslaw_NLI>
so a company from Korea singled out and isp in the USA for no apparent reason and talked to other isps?

clslaw_NLI>
so the only way i will ever play that game in the near future is to switch my isp?

Allen L>
it could be because adelphia has been divided into time warner and comcast....not all areas have been changed to their systems...

Allen L>
I DO NOT KNOW

Allen L>
We have tried to contact them,

Allen L>
they are not returning out attempts

clslaw_NLI>
so switching my isp is the only answer either of us can come up with correct?

clslaw_NLI>
am i correct?

clslaw_NLI>
what information would adelphia need that is different from another isp's info?

first sign of joymax trying to help....

Regarding "Undergoing Server Inspection or Updates" message

Date : 9/18/2006

inquiry : 7624

Hello. This is Silkroad Online.

There are users at the moment that are not able to connect to Silkroad Online. We have posted this previously in the Forum in the subforum "General Technical Issues/Bug Reports". If you cannot connect to the game, please try the following steps:

1. Go to path C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\ and open filename 'hosts' with notepad.

2. Erase the previous localhost and gwgt1.joymax.com entries and enter the following information in the opened file, 'hosts':

127.0.0.1 localhost
121.128.133.26 gwgt1.joymax.com

3. Reboot computer, and try running Silkroad Online again.

If users find the above steps difficult to follow, you will still be able to play the game at most in 2~3 days when your host information will be refreshed automatically. This problem is caused by delays in DNS broadcasting in some areas but the DNS does eventually get refreshed within a few days

from the looks of it, it seems like even they are confused idiots too
Im never gunna get back on that game. :banghead:  :banghead:

Hello. This is Silkroad Online.

We have posted this on the site however we are mailing this out to those of you
have had issues:

In order to assist in the resolution of the issue that is affecting some of our
users in regards to connection, we would like those of you with issues to send
your IP address and DNS server information through the e-mail because you
cannot access the website as well.

The method to get this information is listed below:

1. Go to the Start button.

2. Select the Run menu selection.

3. You will get a text entry box. Type in 'cmd'.

4. One you are in the windows that opens, please type: 'ipconfig /all'

5. Either send us the information that comes after the 'IP Address' and 'DNS
Servers' section in an e-mail OR take a screenshot have it hosted on an image
hosting site.

6. In addition, a trace route would also be of great assistance as well. In the
same window in step 4, type 'tracert 121.128.133.26'. Please post the results
in the same way as step 5.

i did this and sent it in i am lucky enough to have a dial-up account that i can use until adelphia get the new dns codes i hope this helps

if adelphia had fixed the problem then we would all be playing like so many others and jett are you so blind that you believe adelphia saying they fixed their end, that's another way of them laying blame back on joymax to shut us up.And you fell for it, and we all know that we can e-mail joymax all we want and nothing going to happen, so what are we to do,bug the hell out of adelphia till they let the dns run as it is,it never hurt before why should it hurt now :?: this is just another way adelphia gets by with blaming someone else for their bs

hey nub STFU FIRST>.

did u call them?/ did you do anything BUT WHINE>?? No so shut up.. cehcl the DNs report adn call them yourselves.. they will explain what i have here.. ITS ON JOYMAX END>> SO DEAL WITH IT OR GO PALY DOOM

You don't seem to realize that if it were on Joymaxs end, I wouldnt be able to play right now. The dns has errors, so their servers wont accept it. They need to manually enter it or lower restrictions. Its on your ISPs end.

yes i also agree with Chaud .. and Plasma_Jet calling everyone a noob wount solve the issue eather. Its not just Joymax its adelphia too. Adelphia have some restrictions and quality in their service and from what we see Joymax is a MESS. So now we are in the middle suffering.
