ok we all know that few look in technical help

and even though poeople like to think this has a topic thread, it doesn't (try search)


the problem is that my firned uninstalled sro and is now trying to reintall it. he downloaded the client and started it but it says

"message string error" and refuses to proceed.

anyone know of a solution?

if we have a solution it should be stickied. if i missed seeing it after searching or looking at stickies - sorry :/ can't find it :/

If the message appears while installing then he probably doesnt have enough space.
Thats what happened to my friend anyway.

if it's not a space problem (you should check that first) you could try to burn your client (your installed & working one) on cd/dvd copy it on your friends harddrive and launch it.

This way he doesn't have to go through the install process.

ps: you may have to select all files after putting them on the harddrive and right click them and remove the "read only" flag.

thanks for the kind suggestions.

maybe this can be stickied

but i found the reason for it i think : its a corrupted download. i tried copying the downloaded file to a new pc and running it there and it gave the same error.

then i re-downloaded it with a download manager and the error disappeared.
