Download VC6RedistSetup_Enu.exe (http://download.microsoft.com/download/ ... up_enu.exe). Agree to the license agreement, and extract the results to C:/. Go to C:/, and run vcredist.exe.

Update all drivers.
*To find the drivers for your system, go to the website of the motherboard manufacturer, and under the "Downloads" section, you can find drivers for your motherboard. Note that these drivers may not be the latest version, you may need to then go to the website of company that makes the specific driver to find the latest version.
*Generally the reason for this is because of outdated graphics and/or sound drivers.

You can find out your graphics card this way:
Go to Start>Run. Type "dxdiag", and hit enter. Click on the "Display" tab, and then you can see the name of your card in the "Device" section. Copy this model onto a new notepad window. If your graphics card model starts with ATI, then go to ati.com to find updated drivers. If it starts with a NVIDIA, then go to nvidia.com. If it begins with something else, like Intel, then go to intel.com. If it begins with SiS, then go to sis.com.

Then, if it begins with NVIDIA, you need to go to control panel, add/remove programs, and remove NVIDIA Display Drivers. Then download the NVIDIA drivers to your desktop. Reboot, and log in. Your screen will look very funky. Install the drivers that you downloaded, then reboot again. Readjust your resolution and color depth, and then try the game. If it's ATI, you basically need to do the same thing, uninstall the drivers, download the new ones, reboot, install the new ones, and reboot again.
