Modify HOSTS:
Open HOSTS File with notepad (C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\hosts)
Delete everything and change it to:
127.0.0.1 localhost
121.128.133.26 gwgt1.joymax.com
121.128.133.26 gwgt1.joymax.co.kr
64.152.34.142 joymaxnpro.nefficient.com
Save it and reboot.

You also need to ensure that Silkroad is allowed through your personal firewall/Windows Firewall as well as any built-in firewalls in your router.

If that does not fix the issue, you can disable the built-in Windows Firewall. Note that this is not recommended. Instructions:

XP SP1:
1. Go to Control Panel, then double-click Networking and Internet Connections, then click Network Connections.
2. Right-click on your main Internet connection, and then click Properties.
3. On the Advanced tab, click to clear the "Protect my computer or network check box". Click OK.

XP SP2:
1. Click Start, Run, and type firewall.cpl, and then click OK.
2. On the General tab, click "Off (not recommended)", and then click OK.

Reboot, and see if that helps.

If not, reboot and tap F8 as the system is starting. Select "Safe Mode with Networking". Update Silkroad, then reboot into normal Windows.

If that still does not solve the issue, this may be an issue with your ISP. You can call them and tell them to refresh the DNS entries for silkroadonline.net, or you can try changing your DNS servers to fix the issue.

To do so, go to opendns.com/start, and click on the links on the right side for more detailed instructions. Remember to reboot after following the instructions.
