Alright, i recently had this problem and would like to share to anyone else who's having this problem, particularly those with a new computer with Vista, how to fix it. This tutorial by the way, is for people who have Intel graphic accelerators. The problem may occur by your screen going black, white, or becoming static, and a yellow triangle coming out of your task tray with a bubble that says
"Display driver igfx stopped responding and has successfully recovered".
Well, took me two days to find out, but after a bunch of research, i finally found out how to fix it. You have to manually install the updated driver, because many times, when i tried to download it from Intel, it would say that it wasn't the valid driver for my computer. But this is what you do. First, go to
http://www.intel.com > Support & Downloads > Download > Graphics > Desktop or Laptop Graphics Controllers (depending on if you're using a desktop or laptop) > and then select your graphic card. To find out what kind of graphic card you have, go to Control Panel > System > Device Manager > Display Adapter. Download the appropriate driver update as a .zip file. Then, extract the file you downloaded and open up the installation_readme. Scroll down the instructions until you find manual installation. Follow those easy steps to manually installing your updated driver and enjoy your now working display driver

. I would post the installation_readme file, but the instructions are different for different driver updates so i don't want to confuse anyone. If anyone wants to post if it worked for them, or any other tips, feel free to.
P.S. This site is what helped me fix my driver, so if anyone wants to take a look at it here it is
