I'm not sure how, although i've managed to uninstall my video card driver and i'm unsure how to locate the specific driver i need. (My computer has reverted back to using the "generic video driver.")

And give in the proper information They will give u the required drivers -> download -> install -> reboot -> fixed (adjust refresh rate if necessary)
If u don't know what graphics card u have: press windows Key & Pause/Break button -> Hardware -> Devive Manager -> There u look for Display(drivers) or something that is "unidentified (missing the driver )"
Thanks Razorhead for your reply, in the end my dad reminded me that he did a copy of the CD with my new drivers on. However, many thanks for that other solution.
