With my onboard sound card I can't play with any sound on, the lightning imbue will bust my ear drums but with my real sound card its ok. You probably just have a sucky sound card or speakers.

try going into master volume on control panel, if your headphones have a volume switch then fiddle with it, change your moniters volume. Any of those should fix it.

I think this works only on Windows Vista, but right click on the sound icon on the bottom right of your desktop and a little menu should pop up, then try all of them until a menu opens up and it should show what applications you have up and you should see the Silkroad Online exe. (you need to have the game running) which should have a bar under it that should let you change the game volume only (Im not a 100% sure because Im writing from my PSP). Otherwise, try changing the volume from the sound icon...

...(left click it) OR (last resort) you can play with the sound off while listening to music
I hate double-posters, speak of the  but I did it for a good cause :D
Oh yeah... if you've been on the SRF for a year, why didn't you post this before :? :? :?
