fire > ice in my opinion
Fire is considered the Pure str tree.
fire gives you the strongest imbue. (more damage)
it also gives you phy. damage increase (more damage)
you also get fire shield (just switch to a shield, helps)
you also get hard fire protection (you get hit less from magical attacks)
FIRE WALL (this helps a lot, it takes the damage for you)
and the passive (more damage)
ice gives you phy. def. buff (you take less damage, not much)
snow shield (for last ditch efforts, won't really use this much)
So, in the end. Fire > ice because you get more from it. Also, most euro's are clerics. My friend that i always hunt with is a cleric. Hes not a bard. This means, I can get phy. def. buffs from him, but I can't get speed, and 250k for 30 minutes or w.e is expensive. Also, phantom helps when your a bower, you can phantom away, follow it up with double knockback, and now you've put a big gap between you and your opponent. This is why i think you don't need that physical defense buff from ice because with this distance between you and them, their not gonna be hitting you.
The question you should have asked is why do people choose ice > light because fire is a must. If you're curious as to this, go ahead and ask and I'll write up why.
