I recently wrote up the SP requirements for a level 70 Fire + Blader specializing in heaven chain, the entire stab and entire KD line, and the passive, as well as fire protection, Shield up to book 2, Max flame body, max passive, max imbue and lvl 70 fire also, with lvl 70 lighning, max'd passive, and the entirety of the Grasswalk series.

Required SP: 159,488

Now i took this little nifty table posted by bakemaster (search is FTW):
http://stud3.tuwien.ac.at/~e0125557/sro/spgain.html

Looking down the line i calculated how much SP i would get from 1-70 with a 3 rank gap, and it came out to around 132k SP. This number is off by a bit but it was definately 132k or more. Now lets consider how i could do this with a korean mindset.

Grind 1-20 at 9 rank gap. De-level and repeat level 20 at least 3 times. Then proceed at 3 rank gap till end of character.

Now thinking this unreasonable, i looked instead at what i could do with 4 rank gap.

I would earn 159,132 SP, off by only 700 some from my goal (made back just from re-gaining exp from death which is bound to happen).

SP Farming is not a necessity, 160k SP is doable WITH A 4 RANKS MASTERY FOR THE ENTIRE GAME.

This took me all of the time it takes to plug numbers into a spreadsheet and run a simple calculate function. Around 20 mins. All i needed was askill calculator and my brain.

And lets think. While i spent my time taking a full month OR MORE farming SP from 1-20 (and then back 3 times) i wouldve been leveling at a constant, ever growing rate with the other character.

In the end the 4 rank gapper would level that much faster, be that much more enjoyable and likely be MORE PROFITABLE (no need for SOS / SOM / <BLAH> expensive weapon to farm bandits for hours on end, not to mention the aiblity to solo 1* much sooner for cash).

Feel free to discuss / rejoice / enjoy this savory piece of information while its still new news.

And as usual feel free to flame me for my nubness, whatever you wish.

I for one like knowing i dont have to work my not-so-korean nuts off to make a semi decent character.

while that might work, itll only work for that one build. try making a dual nuker with your 4 level gap. i think your numbers will be a bit different. but nice find nonetheless.

The thing about farming at the stronghold is that it is the fastest way to farm. I'm not even kidding. You can get 500+ sp per hour without a ticket when you have a nice bow. And if you have a monkey, the bow will pay for itself.

Trust me, sp farming at the stronghold is THE FASTEST way of farming. The reason not everyone does it, is because it is kinda boring and they'd rather level, but they're gonna have to farm eventually.

Also to get that return on SP do NO quests. Quests that reward hundreds of thousands of xp and little sxp with throw off those calculation very quick.

Wow this sounds a lot more fun than farming.

sp farming at 16 is nice but the annoying delvling part sucks if u don't have a friend with res. It takes about 30-45min delvling 1 level if your just running out, dieing, and coming back. 2% per death so 50 deaths per lvl. I paid someone 200k to delvl me with res from 20-16, took about an hour. If i didnt' use him it would have taken like 3hrs. You only get about 1XXX sp that lvl.

Don't kid yourself, levelling with a 4 level gap will take much longer compared to farming 1 month then doing a 0 level gap to cap.

I don't have the numbers but it doesn't take a maths whiz to compare the difference in levelling rates with a 0 gap compared to a 4-9 gap.

You need around 80% more time to lvl up with 4 lvls gap than with 0 lvls gap (near 2 times). If you farm 1 month and get to 70 for 2 months you'll save around 1 month maybe a little more.

500 SP per hour with hitting level 20 every week (meaning 5 days of SP farming for 4 hours, 1 day for de-leveling, last day not counted due to variability in times) (max possible, less if i do other things) would put me at 2k SP per day for 20 days, or 40k SP.

According to the chart i would gain 72,870 SP from level 20-70. With the 40k SP i earned i would be at 112,870. Nowhere near enogh in all honesty.

Now lets say im leveling at 80% the speed of the other character, and assume that the numbers posted in this guide are correct, and that i can level at 6 hours a day and that the min values represent leveling at a 0 gap, my character would take aproximately 184 days to hit level 70. The other character would (Assuming the max values for leveling in levels 1-20 as this occurs at a 9 gap, and then adding in the sp farming time afterwards (1 full 30 days spent at level 16-20)) hit the same at around 134 days. Difference of 50 days. But here's another thing to consider, the other character WONT be able to max out his skills... and would likely have to break down and SP farm LATER ON, or at CAP. Neither of which is fast, neither of which is efficient, and neither of which is preferable.

And then also consider that the character will likely HAVE to drop off SP spending to conserve for increased masterie (and thus not get as many skills as the other), meaning that leveling will be more difficult and you likely wont be able to JOB as easily as the 4 level gap player.

You could make 60k+ in 20 days farming at the stronghold with a decent bow. I'm not telling you you must farm at stronghold, I'm just saying it's fastest and I honestly wished I had farmed a bit more.

I'm building an archer and this is exactly what I'm doing.

My planned build will require 159,341sp. I can easily achieve this by leaving a 4 level gap throughout the entire game (you MUST NOT do any quests or your skill points will be severely reduced!).

I really, really hate farming. I just can't bring myself to do it. So I honestly think that the game is a heck of a lot more fun when played this way (with just a gap).

I also think it's a lot more fun when you don't have to bother doing stupid, boring quests. I can hunt when, where and what I like, whenever I like :D.

If you don't have the patience or willpower to farm, then I really think that this is a very viable (and much more fun) alternative.

Just my 2 cents.

You can do it as long as you dont make it a bad habit of doing it later on, IE from around 1 through nearly 25 you can return quests and be just fine because dying at higher levels even 3 times would more than likely make up all the SP you lost taking a shortcut earlier in your character's life.
