Post subject: Pure INT are 4 Masteries worth it? Posted: Tue Apr 03, 2007 12:40 pm |

Hello
I have a few questions so I'll seperate them.
Part 1
I have my character currently at level 21 PURE INT and all skills at level 15 (just levelled them up from 12).
I'm using the skills Bicheon, Heuksal, Fire, and Lightning.
I'm unsure what sort of build to go for:
Heuksal at LVL60 (i.e. still using Heuksal):
1, Bicheon=60, Heuksal=60, Fire=90, Lightning=90.
2, Bicheon=80, Heuksal=60, Fire=80, Lightning=80.
3. Bicheon=100, Heuksal=60, Fire=70, Lightning=70.
Lower Heuksal (i.e. using Heuksal mainly for the passive bonus):
4. Bicheon=120, Heuksal=40, Fire=70, Lightning=70
5. Bicheon=100, Heuksal=40, Fire=80, Lightning=80
6. Bicheon=140, Heuksal=20, Fire=70, Lightning=70
7. Bicheon=120, Heuksal=20, Fire=80, Lightning=80
8. Bicheon=100, Heuksal=20, Fire=90, Lightning=90
Are any of these builds good for PvE and killing quickly later on in the game?
I want to be able to defeat white and orange mobs fairly quickly so I can grind easier.
I also wouldn't mind PvP but I'm saving that for later in the game. Basically:
Is it possible to have a good character mainly for PvE and then later occasional PvP with 4 masteries?
If so.. how should the build go given those 4 masteries mentioned?
Part 2
Another question I have is...
Is it better to put skills into Weapon mastery or Force master for more damage?
Part 3
(perhaps the most important part so if you want to answer only one part please answer this one)
I am thinking of maxing out Heuksal at LVL 20 perhaps even leaving it at LVL 15.
Then later on Delevelling Heuksal.
So that I can focus on Bicheon, Fire, and Lightning.
Should I do things this way?
I'm a little worried about how much delevelling is going to cost but that shouldn't be a problem later on in the game.
This brings me to another question:
If I focus on Bicheon, Fire, and Lightning... what would be the best mastery ratio?
1. Bicheon=150, Fire=90, Lightning=60 (this is what i'm seriously thinking of doing if it will help me kill mobs quicker and also do ok in PvP)
2. Bicheon 120, Fire=90, Lightning=90
3. something else?
Usually I'm a "learn to do it yourself" kinda guy but there is so much to learn it's very confusing so your help is much appreciated.
Thank you!

Well, let's see,
1) I would recommend getting weapon skills for heuksal too. I mean, get Soul spear and ghost spear. You will be able to play a dual weapon build.
The configuration for the 90 cap should be:
90 fire, 70 bicheon, 70 light, 70 heuksal.
2) see above, and you will understand for yourself
3)Don't think of the 150 cap. That's a LONG way ahead. As for iSRO is concerned, the cap is likely to stay at 80 (or maybe 90) for some time now.
One of the best builds for a pure INT build at the moment is the one mentioned above: a dual weapon build.
You need heuksal for the extra HP it gives you. 1k extra HP can make the difference in PvP.
Recommended builds:
80 cap: 80 fire, 80 bicheon, 70 light, 70 heuksal.
For the 90 cap, delevel bicheon to 70, and level fire to 90.
There is no need to delevel heuksal. Quite the opposite way, you need the tree for the extra HP and maybe extra weapon skills.
Check this out: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zwKW4PSgLUM
^^ That's an example of an effective dual weapon build.
EDIT: the one who won in the video is dual lightning/ice. I think fire/light would be more effective, because alot of people are ice immune at the cap.
Hope this helps

Wow thanks for the fast reply.
I didn't know there was a "cap"... it's never mentioned in any of the "guides" available online.
Is it currently an 80 cap?
80 fire, 80 bicheon, 70 light, 70 heuksal. sounds perfect and what I was hoping for but then I started reading these guides suggesting it was too weak of a build and I started seeing all these "150 / 90/ 60" build suggestions and my mind started questioning what I was doing.
again thank you.
EDIT
I wanted to add... at what level should I switch to armor? I'm currently using Garments until I can get 4th degree.

Use garment if you can kill without been touched. This way you can save a lot of pots.
But if the mob hit you with phys attacks and hit hard, then switch to armor. Better waste pots then waste 3% because a crit may kill you ( int builds have low health ).

i think a better choice would be heuksal 50 bicheon 68 fire 80 light 70 saves a lot of sp there is no need to have two weapon masteries

So I guess what everyone is saying is...
-the highest you can go is LVL 80
-force masteries are better than weapon masteries for INT builds
Therefore something like:
Bicheon 80, Heuksal 60 Fire 80, Lightning 80 would be a good build.
or the suggested
Bicheon 80, Heuksal 70, Fire 80, Lightning 70 would also be good.
could anyone tell me the difference between the above 2 builds damage wise? I think later on I'll mostly be using Bicheon so I'm not sure if the first or second would be better. I'm leaning towards the first though I'm not sure exactly what 10 mastery lvl's on lightning would do exactly or if it would even be worth it.
I don't think SP or money will be too much of a problem as I plan on grinding the monsters later on in the game for both SP and stalling the drops I don't need.

if ur pure int, i doubt lvling weapon masteries beyond lvl 69 (where weapon skills max at) will help ur kd+stab or sss, gsm dmg much
at lvl 80 cap, it's possible to have a 4 mastery char with
80fire
80light
69bicheon
63heuksal(63 for gsm)
kd+stabs & gsm make a great combo
w/ cap beyond 80 (if it ever comes) & new skills coming along w/ it (if it ever comes also), it's better to just do 3 masteries, since a sword/blade lives on kd+stab & kd requires lvling/maxing to be able to have better chance of laying some1 out, ur gonna have to lose heuksal sooner or l8er. Heuksal, because I doubt any build can survive/have fun w/o light mastery (i just love wind walk & phantom walk, & mag.dmg buff).
so if ur looking beyond lvl 80, it's better
90fire
90light
90bicheon
or
100fire
100light
100bicheon
i doubt i'll stay beyond 100

Thanks that clarifies a lot.
I think i'll stick with the following plan:
Heuksal 20 (just so I can level up to 30 faster and get a little HP bonus)
Fire 80
Lightning 80
Bicheon 80
Then if 90 comes I can level up bicheon 90, Fire 90, Lightning 90 easily without having to delevel.
That or I could do Heuksal up to 40 then if 90 comes Delevel heuksal to 30 and do bicheon 90, fire 90, lightning 90.
If it takes forever to implement 90 then it doesn't matter because I will have 80/80/80 anyway.
^_^
for now I like heuksal because it kills quickly if the "nukes" kill fast as seems to be the case then LVL 20 Heuksal to help me get to 30 quickly will be all I need.
and yeah I love Wind Walk as well.
thanks.

Fine at 80 cap. At ninety cap your probably gonna have to stick with 3 masterys and since your only 22, the cap will be probably be raised by the time you reach 80 so you probably want to go for 3 masteries. But them again, you can just go for 4 and then use curse hearts or item mall to lower one of them when cap is raised.
