Hey, im playing a Bard, and i really enjoy the whole buffing stuff but the lack of HP is pissing me off.

So, first I would like to ask, does int make ur buffs stronger???

If not, then, as you are a support class, how about a high str bard???

Please discuss

;)

IMHO, I would make a bard as 2:1 int:Str, and no The amount of int doesn't affect how good your buffs are. But, you could also go pure int if you like. Or go 1:1. But euro builds aren't tested out yet. So it would be safer to go pure int or 2:1 int hybrid.

Hmm, if int does not affect your buffs you only need it for the MP and for magic attack. It makes me think that a 1:1 build would give enough HP to survive some random agro mobs...

I will add a little Str until i hit the 2:1 ratio, so I have some time to make my mind. Thank you for the info on the buffs.

I think I would probably go hybrid as a bard. This way you can stay a live a little, have good mp, and can still do decent damage.

yes we are sure.

anyways, i know someone who is a 1:1 bard hybrid. when i proceeded to nag on them about how their damage would be mediocre, they explained that they are a goddamn bard, a support character, they shouldn't be attacking mobs anyways and just be supporting people.

so if you have a large union where it is very very easy to find a party whenever you want, and you will never ever solo, go 1:1.

bards also get xtra mp when they equip the harp. has neone tried pure str bard? the xtra mp might be enough for bards not to get any int at all, and with bard skills, mp bar will always be full.

But what about for the bard "nukes" and heal skills (like that one where you restore a friend's mana)? Will those become weaker?

No way a bard should be pure str ever, that would be totally dumb, kind of
like saying that a nuker dies too often and should also go pure str.

As already stated, 2 int 1 str is more than ok for a bard. And no, it doesn't affect in any way, shape or form your buffs.

The bard attacks will get weaker if you go with str, but the mana supports and restores wont, they will remain the same, same with moving march.

Currently im going pure int bard, been decent, if i get mobbed by some mobs i die pretty quick

I think that a pure str bard would be great, since you got mana restoration and all that you wont need mana points so much.

ok, maybe a full str bard would way too weird... but why would u need a 2:1 ratio??? just for the mana??? just becouse it's a int based char??? I gotta agree with Tetsumaru, if you are playing in parties go 1:1 or even 1:2 int:str...

Im making an 1:2 str:int bard-cleric (bard as main) and work perfectly until now. Remember that your job is buff and recover mana, if you start to attack mobs the cleric can runout of MP and all party will die. As a bard you should always see that all needed buffs are actives and that on priority order the 1ºcleric, 2º you, 3ºwizzards-warlocks, 4ºwarriors/rogues have enough MP to continue fighting. If you do all this things you will find out that you dont have enough time to do anything else.

With the 1:2 ratio and the extra MP from being bard you will have twice MP than HP, so you will have lot of MP.

Me too :)

I forgot btw, can bard wear protector? I guess I can check later, but I'm a lazy ass.

Also, hybrids in euro are extremely pro. Even chinese hybrids are pro, but chinese hybrids will pretty much workout nomatter what, and euro ones won't.

As a bard, I'd start out with a 9:2 int:str ratio first, then move on from that.
