I just got the Meteor move and I am completely disappointed. Sure, the move does massive damage, but it's fundamentally weaker than fire bolt! Not only does it cast slower, but it takes 3x more time to reuse, 10 seconds instead of the 3 seconds of fire bolt! I can use 2-3 firebolts in that time. Not only that, here is the cherry on top of the ice cream: It is tied to fire bolt, so if you use meteor you cannot cast fire bolt for another 10 seconds or if you use fire bolt you cannot cast meteor for 3 seconds.

My plan to increase my rate of lvling by using meteor and fire bolt one after the other, 1 shotting worms... there goes that idea!

use other nukes while waiting for meteor.. like earth shock and snow shield, frozen spear

Fire bolt is my favourite nuke, I can't believe meteor disables it....that doesn't happen with the chinese nukes I don't see why it happens with the euro nukes when they keep updating after the newer lvl 60 nukes....it's hate!

You're better off just spamming Frozen spear + Fire Bolt during PvE against single targets, cause Meteor eats up too much MP compared to FB.

I think frozen spear has the 11 sec delay too. I don't have it yet so not sure. I currently just use fire bolt since I 1 shot the mobs I fight, but I would have liked to be able to take out groups of 3 using fire bolt, meteor, fire bolt, then wait for firebolt to recharge and repeat.

Saying it is a way to balance wizards is only a speculation, you never know, it might actually be a bug since it makes very little sense to have 2 skills that keep updating to share the same delay. I would understand if it was on something like earth barrier and earth fence sharing the same delay since barrier stops updating after level 80 when you get fence. It just make no sense to use meteor if you can increase your dps spamming just firebolts, since you can almost fire 3 of them b4 you can fire a second meteor.

ummm try shooting fire bolt first then meteor ??

The delay is shared, so if I shoot fire bolt, both have 4 sec delay, if I shoot meteor both have 11 second delay. Either way you would still have to wait 1-2 seconds before you can use meteor after using Fire Bolt. It works exactly like HP potions and HP grains.

u know the fire bolt is a great damage dealer i don't think that there is a higher damage skill in the whole game so u don't need meteor just use it for fun
but think , it may have advantage
i don't think that a skill that any wizard have (fire bolt) is better than a skill u waited to level 60 to use it
if it doesn't have any advantage , this means that JM made a fault

The advantage is that it does way more dmg... Meteor does 439%, with the same dmg as firebolt that at that level vs the 366% from firebolt. And it has a 3m radius...not that it matters much.

The disadvantages:

- Slightly slower casting. Slow enough to be slower than the devil bow arrow while fire bolt is a little faster.

- almost 3x longer reuse, 11 secs vs 4 sec for fire bolt.

- cannot be used right after fire bolt, and restricts fire bolt so you cannot use it after meteor.

I would say the last one is the most annoying.
