I don't agree with u dedel, simply cuz i do use f12 sometimes and don't gimme that only botters use that excuse, ppl are different so let them play on their own way

I'm sure u can recognize botter in 5 min , i cant and bottom line is i even don't care cuz most of them will sooner or later quit anyway cuz they will feel useless without bot

i was only explaining my point of view =)

btw if u are such a pro than i think that u should know for how long yr pots gonna last :wink:

After i read this thread some questions came to my mind. If u find someone who could be a botter and u ask him/her: "are u a botter?". And the person doesnt answer that question. does that mean that he or she is a botter?. If someone ask me in german, chinese or any other language that i dont understand if im a botter, im most probably wont be answering that question.Maybe, also he/she doesnt speak english, also can mean that he/she turned the message window off.
If someone gets stucks against a wall, does it means its a botter?. Sure as hell. No one never got lagged at a online game and when the conection got back found himself against a wall.
If u attack a user and he/she doesnt respond the attack. Is she/he a bot?. Maybe, also it can be a new user that thinks that the attack came from a monster and not from another user.
I dont know how to spot a botter, i dont know and i dont want to find information about botters programs, pages, guilds. But i surely know when i'm in front of a witch hunt. Every one can say that someone is botting at the GM, so if u dont like the nick name of an user or u are just bored, or u saw a kid getting a really xpensive item that u want, just kill him and then go to the GM and start screeming: "user" is a botter, "user" is a botter, burn him down.
All i see in this thread is fear and hate, and for that we have the real world. This game is inside the world we living and its not an island but why it cant be a little, just a little better.

well, in my case...
i have been following her, the one i'm suspicious as a botter for 4 HOURS each day, in 4 DAYS straight, at the same spot. (seems like she put her char botting everyday)
I even comepare the clothes, weapon, and damage she does to those monster, they'r all the same. The pattern of attacking is also the same. The number of witnesses has increased from 2 to 8, if i counted rite (since after the 5th day, i were so tired of shouting "zasio is a botter" and noone pay attention to wat i say).
After a week, i notice she changed the battle field to another place, and unfortunately, i were at teh same spot (again). And guess wat i did... i just ignored her.

Why ppl, including me, hate botters? because it's not fair. If u see someone 's cheating, and u know for sure they'r cheating, and those who have power dont listen to you, wat u gonna do???

i'm kinda frustrated now.
BTW, the name of the botter is zasio, server AEGE, place if downhang, recently, she's been at the east gate of downhang, hunting earth ghost. She use a lightning glavie, wearing partly protector and armor (as i saw 2 days ago). If u see her, do wat ever u want.

Yesterday i made a report fot three botters on Venice server in Demon Horse area. I made three videoshots. I hope that will help a little.

There were a lot of players that were realy angry

5-7 botters were killing monsters like crazy without stopping. They are using some auto heal(not classic potions) on every minute or before every attack on monsters, not reacting on whispering, no reactions of attacks from other players, not using weapon skills, but still they are strong like tanks, killing horses with one shot...

I hope that ive made the right thing.

ive spotted this guy on the same spot 3 days in a row now. First day i talked to him, no response. Second day, he actually responds, i told him he was a botter and he said "I dont bot, maybe you do" (<--- wtf what kinda stupid answer is that) anyway. Today i saw him again, same place, no response.

Today and yesterday he always stopped at the same place...and ghosts are attacking him constantly..maybe bceause me and some other guy attracted ghosts to kill him:P but anyway....same spot, doesnt move, gets killed.

i got SS, but, does that really help?

QUICK NOTE: this is in reply to a few posts on page 3... if they dont respond to someone in english how do you expect them to respond to a gm?

the bots you find today are very very advanced. these guys do everything a hardcore grinder would do and they can be hard to distinguish from a fellow player. but dont lose hope. when a botter is banned a botter is banned forever.

how to know if someone is botting:
- the first thing you should do is pm them. it doesnt hurt to ask.
- bots have an option to or not to ks... but they dont have the capability to handle/deal with someone who is ksing them.. ks the bot.. until they say something.
- i have seen people grinding 24 hours a day. it is rare to find an individual who can do such diciplined grinding. pm and ask. grinding more then 24 hours does not mean they are a bot. CornBiSuon of Revolution(aka botting guild) isnt a botter to my suprise. everytime i went there random hours of the day he stopped grinding to talk to me.
- they know where they're gold is and when they die they instantly respawn... observe and pm to make sure..
- they get stuck... maybe not for long... but they do get stuck... when the bot gets stuck it turns around to find another target.. but there are places that have invisible walls that are impossible to run through or around.. an example would be near the hyeongchongs and earth taoists near that lake thing (map to be provided later)...
- hit them (suggested for pure str builds)... they chase after you BUT stop after EXACTLY 15 seconds(unless they dont have the option on)... either way this should tell that the person is botting.. make sure you pm them to make sure... sometimes they dont chase after you... no player would get hit and not ask why -_-...

pming is key... just to make sure that they dont use f12... try talking to them in all chat too.. nothing is werse when finding a bot then making a mistake of accusing an innocent.

what to do when you discover a botter:
-ALWAYS REPORT!
-screens dont really do anything nowadays... download fraps and record the botter... you can take screens and SEND them to joymax to have them investigate the situation further..
-announce that the person is botting in global chat.. this attracts a lot of attention.. if one of the GMs are on, theyll see it and go to location... remember to include coordinates...
- KS them... sometimes the bots crash.
- type [GM]Crayon... for some reason it doesnt work all the time... but it does work for a few.. it causes them to log off thinking there is a gm nearby...

common botters excuse:
-I don't have time to play. -- Then don't play at all.

Your inability to play doesn't justify the right to using a bot. Other people put their time into this game, with the ambition to be the best. But its hard to be the best when botters are constantly one step ahead. Botting IS cheating. You will eventually be discovered. Who says the game can't be fun at lvl 16 =/.

Macro programs not only destroy game balance, but are also a factor that prevents the settlement of healthy game culture. Therefore users using macro programs that are found within the game will be punished severely.

Macro programs also harm PCs through viruses and are mainly responsible for problems regarding hacking.

For the settlement of a healthier game culture, please do not use macro programs. If users find any macro programs being widely spread throughout websites, please report through the use of bug report located under customer service.

here is what seems to be a modification of the infamous chinese srobot..
-Hunt with ANY character, ANY level
-You specify where it should hunt, and the area for it to hunt. It won't just wander anywhere, only where you tell it to.
-Fully customizeable skill useage. All your buffs, all attacking skills are implemented and working. When you lose a buff, it will recast. You can setup skill combos for it to use also.
-It will use HP/MP potions when either value gets lower then what you specify.
-Use berserk whenever it gets it, or even when it is fighting a giant monster. Or not use berserk at all! You can set that too.
-If a GM comes near, or messages you, it will immediatly DC. Though because not many have this bot and it's not mainstream like with a game such as Ragnarok Online, you won't have to worry too much.
-When your bag gets full, or your gear starts breaking, or you run out of arrows, bot will scroll back to town. It will buy potions and all items you need, store everything else, repair your gear, and go back to hunting!
-Set it to accept party invites that are distribution, or to deny any party/trade requests.

For god's sake, pls provide some concrete evidence to prove a botting activity if u wanna accuse someone. Stop framing other people if u r unsure. One of my best fren had been banned for NOTHING. He dun bot and still get banned. He lost everything including his time and effort to nurture his character, and $$ (silks).

I do hope that if u guys are sincere in catching bots than accusing them just becos they ks u b4. Pls dun produce the following shit proofs

1. "I PM him and he dint reply"
Who the **** will reply you? I dun even know you. I dun reply ppl who I dun know. Waste my time. My PC is a bad model and always lag when I do fighting in cave so I always close my chat window. I am also doing fighting 99% of my time. So why do I need to entertain a noob who keep pm or talking to me? Do I have a choice?

2. "I got an SS that the botter dint reply my PMs"
LOL I can create alot of this. Just speak pm a few lines to someone ( u wanna frame) and then ss before the person speaks up. It is a picture anyway. It's hard to tell when the ss is taken.

3. "That botter use repetitive skills to kill every mob"
If repetitive skill usage is a component of "botting", then GM should ban 99% of the silkroad community as they use repetitive skills to level as well. I believe the most efficient skills will be used to maximise mp usage and to optimise time usage. If that is not the case, Joymax should implement 999 skills for each different tree so that there will not be a repetition of skills used, at least not within the next 15 - 30mins you will not see a skill repeated.

The reports include ss AND videos if im not wrong. I agree, screenshots can be tampered with and all, but videos might be enough proof.

Not replying to PMs and doing the same skills might or might not be botting. But what is most obvious is following a certain 'path'. Go to X location, turn around, go to Y, turn around, and go to Z. Rinse and repeat for 10+ times. That is enough proof IMO.

i was about to go to sleep when i saw this idiotic post looking for self-gratification, and in rage of this moron's stupidity i decided to log in just to post.

just because you have 300+ posts compared to the one with 2 posts doesn't mean your "opinion" is valid and his isn't. i hate to break it to you but GMs are people as well, not some superior program able to think for one's self. and the last time i check, people still do make mistakes. so maybe his friend was banned for the wrong reasons. make a character in AEGE, pm digisan and we'll meet up by the mangyan field just south of jangan. you go around and do your routine and i'll keep typing "are you botting? are you botting" then take a pic .. then i'll report it to the GMs and if you get banned, don't blame me.

hurts doesn't it when your attempt to sound smart failed miserably huh? all this reading from botting is giving me a scare that some people might consider me a botter since i've been in the same spot just a bit north of the bandit stronghold farming for white tiger skin - since i'm doing it for the second time for jodaesan and needing another 100 skins. i barely look on my chat log because all i'm concentrating on is constantly sweeping the area with my mouse view thinking of which next tiger to kill, characters that might have already begin to engage to attack it and so forth.

the only thing i hate more than botters is people who ks from other people repeatedly, and they know they're ksing the mob. what's more annoying is when those ksed mobs drop intensifying elixirs or Sox or quest items that rightfully belonged to you. now i'm not talking about giants since those are another issue but i'm talking about regular normal sized mobs.

so forgive me for not checking my chat screen because i'm too busy scanning and calculating my next moves, only waiting for the minute i finally gather all the quest items i need (sp farming at level 16 is a pain isn't it?).

i was about to go to sleep when i saw this idiotic post looking for self-gratification, and in rage of this moron's stupidity i decided to log in just to post.

just because you have 300+ posts compared to the one with 2 posts doesn't mean your "opinion" is valid and his isn't. i hate to break it to you but GMs are people as well, not some superior program able to think for one's self. and the last time i check, people still do make mistakes. so maybe his friend was banned for the wrong reasons. make a character in AEGE, pm digisan and we'll meet up by the mangyan field just south of jangan. you go around and do your routine and i'll keep typing "are you botting? are you botting" then take a pic .. then i'll report it to the GMs and if you get banned, don't blame me.

hurts doesn't it when your attempt to sound smart failed miserably huh? all this reading from botting is giving me a scare that some people might consider me a botter since i've been in the same spot just a bit north of the bandit stronghold farming for white tiger skin - since i'm doing it for the second time for jodaesan and needing another 100 skins. i barely look on my chat log because all i'm concentrating on is constantly sweeping the area with my mouse view thinking of which next tiger to kill, characters that might have already begin to engage to attack it and so forth.

the only thing i hate more than botters is people who ks from other people repeatedly, and they know they're ksing the mob. what's more annoying is when those ksed mobs drop intensifying elixirs or Sox or quest items that rightfully belonged to you. now i'm not talking about giants since those are another issue but i'm talking about regular normal sized mobs.

so forgive me for not checking my chat screen because i'm too busy scanning and calculating my next moves, only waiting for the minute i finally gather all the quest items i need (sp farming at level 16 is a pain isn't it?).

if you're going to patronize me, do it properly at least. and i don't really care if you watch the same shows that i do, i could care less. my point is that just because you have a higher count, higher character - that does not make your opinions far more superior than people with a far more lower post count or newbie characters. the point i tried to come across to you is that people's opinions are valid wether it sound idiotic or not, not character experience. unlike the general masses, i like to play efficiently, my M keyslot being set on W - autograb on D - sit on S .. this helps me cope with the fact i've gotten used to the AWSD movement of different MMORPGs and FPS shooters.

fair enough. i'll summarize everything so it can be a little more clear to you. becuase this whole time it seemed as if you failed to understand.

-i made my rant towards ferio about how gm's had to be there to ban and that they didnt make a mistake, and i defended a member that has contributed to this site plenty times by telling ferio and making a point that he only registered to start something.

-you defended ferio, telling me how gm's can make mistakes by banning people through videos and pictures, even though i already said that they don't ban based on such small evidence. the whole time you mocked me. you also said i was acting as if i was better then him based on my level and post count.

- i replied with how it seemed you wrote your post only after skimming through mine, and i pointed out its irrelevancy. i explained that i wasnt attacking ferio for his lvl or post count but for the content of his post, and how his post count only added to the evidence and was not the main case. at the end i took a stab at finding common ground to lighten things up.

-you then change the subject to my personal qualities(for who knows why). and took my stab at a stressless discussion as an attempt to aviod me saying im wrong. you then repeat the same argument that i had too much pride and believed that i had superiority. you said i was a hypocrite because i said i was friendly yet bitched at someone i thought was an idiot.

manyangman has once again gone MIA from updating this post. it seems that all the botters he has listed are from either the main site or from a botter "viewing" where the location of the botter was globaled and confirmed by many. i dont think he is going to add any names that we list here without proper evidence.
