Ok, first of all i'd like to say that this build isnt supposed to pwn at all...not before we add wiz atleast..its meant for those who cant play the game hardcore whatever the reason is...no silk...not enough time to play..etc..its for those who wanna take it easy while playing.

Why bard at the beginning then wiz later on?

1.Bards find pts easy..due to them being extremely rare..hell you might even make it to pts higher 10 levels than your level and you still wont be kicked cause they all need the mana and the tambours.

2.I'm not saying bards will level as fast as wiz...but they level in a pretty decent speed...even while soloing they are almost as good as a Chinese int.

3.Bards are the most rich build that could ever be built...hardly any potions..no need for armor to be up to date...you just need a pretty decent harp thats all.

You might reach 60 in like 2 months with no silk..which is a good time period for me...if you got a good guild to find a pt as soon as you log in + silk + time to play you might reach that in half the period..i havent tested this yet to be honest this is pretty much theoretical i'm speaking according to the speed of my leveling.

Why wiz at lvl 60 not sooner and not later?

All the fun with wiz starts at 60 and all the pvp business...so if you farm to prepare for wiz at that time the first thing you think about getting is the lv 60 wiz skills and invisible..then you farm for the other stuff..so that when you get bored you got the skills to pvp or job war.

The build is -in short- an easy & fast way to reach high levels in order for you to completely enjoy the game imo...also keep in mind that it is not a very boring build...you will always focus on grinding on high mobs, the grinding process it self wil be easier all you need to do is fill up your parties mana while chilling and listening to some music..etc.

Some people might get bored pretty fast from this but i dont cause i focus on collecting/gathering gold and trading items..getting good deals etc..and its working great.

Ionno maybe its just me maybe i'll get a lot of negative comments but i thought eh..lets give it a try..lets see what people think about it.

Regarding skills and details of grinding..etc. i'll post that in details later on but for now i'm just expressing the general idea.

:)

Edit:

Details, playing style and skill recommendations

Alright i'm gonna try to be short not much to say if you found anything that you cannot understand just check "Nenhunter's" guide or ask here.

{}Playing style:

First thing you have to put in your mind as soon as you get out of Constantinople's gates is that you can no survive without pts..so you have to realize the major pt-ing areas around.

First you do Movias and lv5 inventory quest then you go for the following zones (atleast those what i chose)

Forest Of Sorrow fortress/barracks thing at lv7-ish --> Dow Genetos/Genema --> Kiklopes (south of Greek-ish ruins area) --> polipemos (inside ruins area) --> lions (inside temple recommended) --> crabs --> wolves (Dont forget Curst Heart quest) --> warriors --> punishers --> ongs (kokuros spawn rate sux) --> sungs (be close to the river) --> bunwangs --> ujigies --> penons --> yetis --> worms.

Move fast dont stay in any spot for too long you will start to get really bored if you did so, take special care on your drops dont NPC anything stalling is fun and effective dont listen to anyone saying that NPCing stuff is better..an over night stall 1 or 2 days a week wont kill you, check stall network whenever you are in town or waiting for a pt to fill up...etc especially elixirs, make friends and join a good guild chatting really helps, and go for uniques once or twice whenever you're around a unique's spawn zone.

Keep in mind that the period between 51 & 60 will be a very boring period cause you have to 9-gap farm with a bard which is do-able but not very much liked lol..of course you can start gaping at like lv 55 or something basically you just need enough SP to lvl the wiz up to 60 and get the necessary skills then you might worry about the other skills later on.

Or there is another choice of you just leveling like mad while 2 gapping every once in a while you should have a pretty decent amount of SP at 60 then you get like 4 wiz skills (on the expense of you being a cheap bastad while leveling having most of ur bard skills neglected or low, lol) and start hardcore farming, to be honest thats what i'm planning to do. :D

{}Skills:

[[For detailed info about the skills check http://www.silkroadforums.com/viewtopic.php?t=68503 by Nenhunter]] (Keep it in another tab you will need it to understand the following)

~Horror Chord (baby nuke): Dont keep it up to date but it can be pretty useful/fun sometimes so up it but keep it 1 or 2 levels below the max level if you need the SP.

~Booming Chord (AOE): Keep this one maxed up its damage is pretty nice.

~Max the whole Music Pleasure skill line (tambours & marches..etc) you will need it for partying.

~Melody line: The whole skill line sux imo...except for rave melody is a great useful skill max it you will need it frequently cause from time to time you will not notice your own mana (yea i know...lol..i can just keep on mana cycling myself..but try to bard for a bit and you'll see what i'm talking about) + you dont need to click to do it u just press the skill...instant mana heal.
Also you may think you need bind/temptation but you really wont cause if you got a mob aggrod on you already have several choices : run - run+zerk (which u have full most of the time) - call for help from warrior (if in pt) - AOE kill the mob if its close to ur level - or just die if the mob is high..cause neither will work on high mobs..also noise already takes care of general/general pt mobs and these two skills only affects general/general pt mobs so you can just use noise and u wont need them..and u wont need them for soloing either cause you just 2 hit the mobs.

~Sound skill line: Mana Cycle and Noise are considered a must..Discord wave and tuning noise are not recommended if you are planning to go with the 'cheap bastad' playing style (scroll up if you forgot about it :P ) mana wind is basically double the mana cycle healing power but heals for only one time + it kills ur harp's durability which will never happen while using mana cycle + pt members usually likes mana cycle better.

~Dancing: Dont max it but keep every skills in a decent level so that you have the chance of joining a pt with already another bard (i know..sounds impossible) but it happens sometimes when there is not much ppl around to pt + they are pretty useful i mean they do make a difference especially with the mag dance.

-After 60-

Just keep the Noise and Moving March..everything else you just delevel if you are not planning to bard anymore...if you do plan to bard for emergencies just delevel all attack and dancing skills basically everything except mana cycle, rave melody, noise, moving march, tambours (lower the lvl a bit for extra SP).

{}Random stuff/hints/info:

-If you cant get in a pt dont just stand around doing nothing, make your own pt and hang around in town for a bit checking stall network..etc..believe me it is worth your time..i keep finding underpriced items..1 day i found like 7 wep elixirs for 90k each...and on another day a lv 24 sos wep for 900k.
-After this update life gets a lot easier you can just have the perfect grinding/partying session: mana cycle at quick mouse slot, set quick mouse slot to space on options, unlock the pt (click the little lock sign on the upper left side), then press ctrl+1 ctrl+2 ctrl+3 and so on to switch between pt members...switch and press space switch and press space and repeat.
-Ignore the messiness and the typos pl0x.
-Be smart, be fast and you'll be one of the best.
-I hax ppl who flame me :x

... :P

I got a question. It said in the description for Invisible that the wizard will not be able to move at all with it. In reality, can they move while invisible? If so, does it stack with Moving Match, so cancel out the slower walking speed?

Hmm i'm not really sure i will need to look around for that for the detailed part of the guide.

BTW can some more people please tell me what they think about it just so that i dont invest so much time in it and at the end no one would like it anyway. :D

when you go invisible .. you can move but your speed goes down to about 20%

moving march gives you speed boost to your actull speed .. so at bard mastry lvl 40 .. u get +50%
so .. your speed while in moving march + invisible will be about 30% of your actully speed

this is theoritical .. I don't know about wizards but I'm a rogue .. and tried it with my stealth .. it helps making being stealthed acceptable

hope this helped :D

How good are bard's damage?

They are rare and I was thinking of making one with cleric sub.

the first part i dont like too much :D

you lvl fast in pt... have to be parties on server to begin with lol, almost every pt i see on matching are for plvling

and if you can find good pt then you can join without being bard too and then lvl just as fast

Points well taken but about soloing i only said bards have to solo if they found no pts..and sometimes that could happen if you are extremely unlucky with pts but pretty rare i'm just saying to comfort those who think bards suck at soloing (not for just solo-grinding but for doing low lvl quests too)...actually they excel at it...*Noise + March Buffs --> Bards baby nuke->monster aggros->Bards AOE = monster..(same as your level maybe a couple of levels higher too)..dead*

As for your second point i'm not sure u understood me 100%...for example if there is a pt with like 4 wizards 2 tankers and 1 cleric...would they prefer to: 1-Take a wiz lower than the pts average lvl?
2-Take a wiz/tank their same level even though they have enough?
or
3-Take a bard? (considering that the bard population in server doesnt exceed 10 or something)

@ Osama:

Bard's damage are nearly the same as a Chinese nukers damage...well maybe light or ice nukes not so sure about fire..but i dont really recommend considering the damage in your choice cause you can get offering from cleric.

Also thanks to JiMMaR for the help & to greecemilly for the move :)

Pretty good guide but you are only 3X how do you know your dmg will keep up as good as it is now untill 6X (sorry if you have another higher lvl bard/wiz)..

I think you'll be better off grinding with wiz and bard as sub from the beginning. wiz for attack and bard for moving march/noise

Thanks for the opinion, but i did compare the dmg i'm doing now to others at my level so i guess its more of a ratio + i dont really need the damage.

And about the other point i thought of that too but u see at the beginning of the guide i said it was for players who wanted to take it easy..and going pure bard then switching to wiz imo is easier that starting with both from the beginning after all bard is much easier than wiz as a main, pretty fast too and its not very hard to get the wiz later on...not as fun though...you play easy and fast (and just a lil bit richer :P) on the expense of a little less fun before 60.

Now who voted that my guide sux :x .....show yourself raawwrr

j/k more comments pleez ^__^ (damn..you people are boring)

Cool guide. It would also be a big help for a bard to have a pet. They can use pets to tank for them, by having the pet attack, then using Discord Wave on themselves so they can continue to attack the mob without getting attacked.

Great guide in terms of the BARD character. But in my own opinion i see a major flow in here. Bard is a support type char and changing your player at level 60 to wizard and deleveling most of the BARD skill is a major minus:
1. you will lost most of your SP during the process. Using curse heart will not restore 100% your skill points. Only way to get 100% all of your SP back is to use a special scroll from item mall which is expensive.
2. It will be very costly especially when your gonna delevel lots of your skills. It will require more GOLD to delevel most of your skills.
3. Due to the lost of SP or lack of SP you will be required to spend more time in farming.

SUGGESTIONS:
1. If your gonna be a bard from start then be bard until you have max out.
2. If you wanted to change character later then don't max out most of your skills as a bard.
3. If you like, you can also be dual build a bard and a wizard but this will involve more time in farming.

I already asked myself these questions before writing and answered them in the guide.

To answer you in a few short points:
-As a bard you hardly need any of your skills maxed except for the mana cycle..
-It is almost a certain fact that bards are one of the richest builds in the game..because they dont need any up-to-date gear..and..usually in their spare times they catch some good deals from the stall network because they dont solo often.
-Euros farm easily :P ..well not extremely easy but pretty much faster than Chinese bec of parties.

:D

@ Burningwolf: err..i dont h4x ppl with kool names :D ..congratulations u have just successfully evaded the evils of my ub3r l33t h4x1ng sk1llz. *does some kung-fu moves* ...

A couple of comments.

Personally, I take temptation particularly for smaller party play. I find it quite useful when a mob has decided to take on the cleric or a wiz who starts running for their life and the tank doesn't taunt the mob, a quick cast of temptation and the mob wanders off forgetting about it. This is really good for the cleric over Discord because some times the Cleric has built up so much aggro in spamhealing that discord doesn't dispel enough, but Temptation doesn't worry about aggro, it just makes the mob go attack another mob.

Also another MAJOR reason for taking Mana Cycle over Mana Wind is Wind creates aggro for yourselves, Cycle doesn't.

But over all a good read.

Thanks for your comment..good point about the temptation..but thats just why you should have a couple of good warriors in your pt..i really didnt think it was necessary mainly because if the cleric was able to run/survive successfully it would be pretty obvious that he could use the warrior's help...but i guess it could help in some cases if the warrior is far or something..me being as cheap as i am i preferred to keep the SP..cause i hardly witnessed anything like this that i could actually solve before the warrior...also the cleric should think a lil bit before casting their next skill..not many clerics cast their skills standing next to pt mobs.
