ok so ive read some stuff from the official site you can download the infamous srobot from, and tried it (omgomgomg) for a bit (no i havent used it to gain 100000 levels and play while im asleep )
A few things i noticed, the bot is very sofisticated, with default settings it doesnt KS, it will try to not attack mobs that are attacking people, mobs that are being attacked by people, and if you are fighting a mob, and another player takes the mobs aggro ( ex; you are fighting a giant, and someone does more damage, the giant turns towards the other player and starts attacking him) the bot will stop attacking that mob and find a new target.
In the manual it sais :
Quote: "Your Game is Freezing or You are Getting Kicked This is caused by a conflict with the loops in the SROBot coding.
1. You are hanging around a highly populated area where there are many people going for the same monster and you have your settings set to not to touch other people's monster. The bot will try to adjust and pick another target, this will cause the bot to crash and freeze your game if it tries to over-adjust. This basically means, if the bot has to choose another target too many times, it will crash. Of course me and my friend had to try it out, and yes - it did work. So if you see a botter nearby, just start attacking a mob which the botter is running for, or try to KS him as much as possible, and he will be gone. (10 minutes should give results) I hope this helps.[/quote]

I don't think that'll work too well if it got organized. If the botters can turn off the option to not KS, then they'd be completely unaffected by this, and you'd just be slightly slowing their lvling speed.

yes but if they're botting they won't be there so atleast it will stop them on one session and they have a good chance of not knowing what actually happened

How do you know for sure it's a botter? I just don't want to be confused for one, as when I'm in a good 'groove' I'll kill kill kill without paying attention to much else around me lol

This will definetly wont work cause bot has many options in witch it can do must things that normal player does! And there are honest pple who can do quite similar to these bots in agility. So it's not so easy to identfy a boter...
And it's quite fair that this new today inspecion, caught bot programs even before they start.
I think that if you stop making wrong ideas and talk to the GM or WM of Game Guard, as I do to theyr bad programing. It will hopefuly work
But I have some admitions to tell: as there are mean pple in the world, the more you try to stop them the even hard they work to get off somehow.

I found another botter (how the hell he got around the GG update so fast is beyond me). His name is Fataveli, and his current haunt is Chakji Workers over by the west docks on the Jangan side. He plays on aege server. Id frapp him if i had it at the time, but I didnt and couldnt,, but he is a bot. I had 5 to 6 Chakji atking me and he refused to fight them, every time i atkd a monster he was going for he automatically turned and left to another, picked up drops really fast, and no matter how long i spammed exchange he denied the exchange at the same time each time (the game spaces them out, he sending that is, and exactly 607 sends between he would deny the offer. There is no way that is humanly possible).
I tried whispering a GM to get him over to harass the botter, but neither crayon or gargamel were logged in.

yes it's a double edged sword, i wouldn't do it unless the guy was a confirmed botter, but even then i dont think i'd do it, i'm pretty lazy, i'd prob just call someone to kill them lol

If the bots arent KSing, and leaving others alone completely then I don't see a reason to bother with them. In fact I'd rather be killing the same mobs with a bot like that than with some of the people I've run into. Bottom line though is that it's their loss, they aren't getting the experience of the game anyway, and their programs aren't bothering anyone (aside from moraly), so I don't see a reason to try and crash them.

Actually i got a few sites with latest updates, and i always check them after patches.
This time it took about 5 minutes for new bot to be released, this time it works with Real Abyss Webserver, You download bot and tweaked gameguard files, then u download the "gameguard server files", and that way you set up a "offline gameguard server" on your own pc, which means:
When GameGuard is connecting for updates, it connects to your own PC, and your own PC will tell GameGuard there arent any. After that your tweaked gameguard files will say everythings just fine.
This will mean future patches wont affect botters (unless they change gameguard system).
Btw, i like to keep myself updated, having tried bots has helped me spotting botters, finding weaknesses and such, but no i dont bot myself.
Not only do i level faster than the bot myself, but i like to keep the game honest and lag-free (not to mention im in a huge and active guild, they would know XD)

One of the best things yuo can do against bots other than reporting them, is get them stuck.
Just get them stuck in a wall somewhere where they can still be attacked by one or two monsters. Enough so that they don't die, but are wasting their pots and hopefully pills if it does a status. That way not only do they waste their time (no xp gained), they lose money (loss of pots and pills), and eventually they may lose xp (eventual death after running low on pills)
Getting a botter killed will do nothing at all. If the bot is halfway decent he will just respawn in town and come back, quickly making up the 2% loss. Now unless you are going to get him killed each time he comes back, getting him stuck in a position where he can be attacked is the best solution.
Signs of botters:
Imbuing while not fighting a monster or trying to run through a wall. This is an almost 200% giveaway that it's a bot, unless it only happens a couple times due to lag.
Stops attacking a monster once it aggros someone else. Especially true if you suspect someone of botting and attack their giant and aggro it halfway through.
Picking up everything except arrows. Not always true, but this combined with other signs.
Running toward a monster when it drops after you two fought it when you clearly got the kill.

LOL very nice find. I would love to see how frusterated botters become when people start to do this.

Declines All Trade Messages Sent to Player
Declines All Party Invitations
Aren't these two (among some other things) settable in the Options -> Set game, Game settings ingame?
There is..
Guide
Invite Party
Exchange
Alarm
Message
PVP
Whisper
I know that I have set it to not allow guide and exchange.. mostly b/c I hate the guide and ppl that I don't know like to request trade and ask to buy my weapon or something. It's just a lvl 8 +1 som lol
Oh and that laggy imbue thingy has happened to me before.
edit: btw, my first post !!

Turning thos eoptions off in the menu will cause a message to be displayed saying the person is not accepting whatever is turned off.
This is opposed to the fact they simply are not responding if they are being talked to. You call them by name, and they don't say anyhting. You PM them asking them something and they don't respond.

i tried this one some one it though was a botter and it worked wonders. Kser that bot made him leave his on target even before i hit it. And i noticed he wud replenish his mana before every attack.
