HEY READ THIS FIRST!!@@14324325342 I PUT THE PERFECT GUIDE FOR PURE STR ON ANOTHER GUIDE BECAUSE IT WAS TOO LONG TO FIT WITH THIS ^%#$*&%$&@^#$%#@#~%#$^$#^%*%^*^&%#$@%$
Pure INT (Suggestion of equipment; try armor most of time, and protector sometimes. Garment isn’t a option, unless you got a strong set and a stroooong range attack. But armor for PvP is the best.)
Pure Int people are divided at 2 sides: Support People and Destroyer Wizards. As they have fewer hp than pure str ones, they can’t get to close combat without great risk, and so their strategy is mainly attacking from far and try by all means not to let him come closer – or you will die. Ice is good to have, but not essencial, it’s like armor – you will only need that kind of things at close combat, and we know you shouldn’t do that. For Int types, you should use mostly SWORD and SPEAR. Also, full INT character don’t need too much the Weapons skills as pure str does – you can go take only Magical Masterys and, of course, NUKES. Nukes are essencial here, the very soul of Pure INT building.
A *Spear* (for Heuksal skills, same as glaive) 1. Full Int + Spear + Fire + Lightning = Strong magical combination. Take the magical bonus of lightning and use mostly fire nukes – it should destroy everything in your way. If you want, Lion Shout is a good magic to use before the nuke, for it makes the opponent parry go down. The only bad thing about this building is: it’s a matter of killing first or dying first, If you do not kill fast, you will die. Terrible character for enduring Lags. Be sure you are patient to the extreme before going with this.
2. Full Int + Spear + Fire + Ice = Good attack and defense, perhaps the most equilibrated of the spear choices, and strong to fighting another nukes. Be sure to get the fire nukes and to get Frost guard and passive skill from Cold, along with Frost Nova if you want to.
3. Full Int + Spear + Fire + Force = Kinda support character, but very weak against Strong Str based characters. Should avoid this option if you can, but not completely useless. Armor all time, of course.
4. Full Int + Spear + Cold + Force = Better support character than before, for cold makes a better defense and it’s also nice to help your str-based partner against his enemy. You should abuse force skills, especially Ressurect, Therapy and Vital Spot, along with the passive skill.
5. Full Int + Spear + Cold + Lightning = Not bad, good defense and freeze moves + light nukes and magic bonus. Grass Walk is useful too. If you see your partner battle won’t get good results, then it’s a good option to RUN. Don’t be afraid of running, you aren’t close combat type.
6. Full Int + Spear + Lighting + Force = Good option, Lighting will give you good nuke attack (better than fire) and you will be capable of heal or resurrect your partner, with the bonus of running if things do not get fairly straight. The passive force bonus will be very helpful too.
B *Sword*
(for sword skills, same as blade)
- Most Nukers use sword, for it provides a better def than spear does. It sure is a good compensation for less powerful nukes (trust me, you are not like pure str – you need defense).
1. Full Int + Sword + Fire + Cold = Strong attack and very high defense. Up the shield skills along with frost guard and fire protection series and you’ll be almost invincible at battle. The bad thing is: you won’t have res or therapy circle skills, but your defense and shield shall not let you die easily. Can use protector.
2. Full Int + Sword + Fire + Lightning = The best set for nukers, provides a excellent magic attack along with a escape grass walk if needed, Defense here shall remain only with fire protection and shield series, what means a good option to fight another nukers. Should set armor or protector. If you wear garment, be ready to die fast when fighting Strong Str-Based face to face.
3. Full Int + Sword + Fire + Force = Good attack, not so good defense, You won’t run of mp fast here, but your dmg probably won’t kill your enemy before he gets close to you. Support Character mainly.
4. Full Int + Sword + Cold + Force = Best Sword support character, if you are searching for it. Cold shall give you fair physical defense and freezing skills (that will help your partner). This is also good for ressing your partner if he dies, because your def you let you some time for you to do that. This is NOT a Destroyer Wizard, so keep yourself away from lonely fights when you can.
5. Full Int + Sword + Cold + Lightning = Lightning Nukes and a shield + ice defense shall make you a formidable opponent against str-based ones. Use the skills wisely.
6. Full Int + Sword + Lightning + Force = Better than fire for nukes, worse for battling Int based. Just be sure to have someone with you, or Force will be almost useless.

Healer Guide June 4th, 2007 Why choose to become a healer? Well, you will play an important role in your guild especially when reaching higher levels. Not everyone chooses to level up the force mastery high enough, because they want to leave room for other skills that fits them better. Having someone focusing on the force tree in the guild then, leaves everyone more freely to choose what they want and not having the pressure of getting the force mastery just to be able to ressurect (bring someone back to life).
Your play style will certainly be more different than the others. Instead of attacking your enemy, you will more likely do your best to support your friends. But if the situation needs it, you will not be a total weak damage dealer and can jump into the heat of the battle knowing you can deal as much as heal.
When building a healer, you have many ways to choose between. My intentions with this certain build is mainly speed, high HP and good defense. There are three masterys to focus on: the one for your weapon, lightning and force. Any left mastery point is up to you where to put it. But because of having already three mastery trees, you should avoid the others unless you feel you got an abundance of skill points (SP).
You should put your stat points mainly into STR. This will give you alot of HP at the cost of having lower MP. The reason for choosing STR instead of INT as a healer, is imo simply that you must stay alive as long as possible. If the healer goes down to easy, he/she aren’t much of a help to the others. Going pure STR may not be necessary, but there are no reasons to not do it. Lots of HP will just do you good, while the MP will be more than enough for the healing skills.
Gear to use
I will start with the weapon. The ones you have to choose between are either glavie, blade or bow. All are STR based weapons (the bow works either direction) and what to choose here is all up to you. I am myself using a blade and the reason for that is the extra defense the shield gives. A block from the shield in a sticky situation, can be the difference of life and death.
As a blader you will not deal the highest damage, but this is not the main task of this build. You will not be useless in PvP though, because like any other blader build you will be able to recieve alot of damage and many times kill your opponent. Just like any other weapon of use, it has its advantages and disadvantages. So please don’t make this guide into some weapon discussion thread. The main reason I choose blade is explained above.
I will not digg deeper into any weapon mastery, but instead advice you to read other guides for that. If you go as a blader like me, I can recommend reading about the weapon skills in cuchulainn’s blade guide.
Because of this build being based on speed, garment is the protection to use. It provides 20% speed increase and also better protection against magical damage (which is mostly higher than physical) and a -20% MP consumption. You will need it all to stay alive as long as possible and don’t run out of MP potions too fast.
Force skills
Force
This is your main mastery tree, because it contains all your healing skills. You want to keep this as high as possible and a good thing about it, is that you can also help those who are higher level than you. So you don’t need to be at the top of your guild.
Self heal series
This skill is used to heal your own HP. But the heal series do the job much better and can be used on both others and yourself. So no need to waste any SP on this.
Force cure series
Works just like an universal pill and heals any curable abnormal status. It is slow compared to the pills but usefull if any of your friends runs out of them. If you feel you got the SP, you can upgrade it just in case.
Heal series
Heals alot more HP than self heal series and as told above, you can use it on both yourself and others. Good for a quick HP raise and to give a friend the upper hand in a PvP fight.
Rebirth art series
Undoubtedly the most important skill as a healer. Its use is to revive other players and while doing jobs, it will give you a great advantage when facing an enemy. You can heal players up to ten levels above you, assuming you have the the Force mastery at the same level as yourself.
Natural therapy series
A really helpfull skill, both for jobs and when killing mobs. It brings out a large ring, when inside you are safe from mobs up to a certain level. It also provides a faster HP and MP regrowing rate while resting. You are not safe though from champion-, elite-, giant- or unique mobs who can attack you inside of it. If a trade animal goes down, put this up around the trade goods. To be able to bring out a new one, you must stay away from being atacked within 20 seconds. Having this as a protection makes it all much easier.
Vital spot attack series
You get two skills out of this, vital spot-muscle and vital spot-spirit. The first one is used to decrease someone’s parry ratio and the second one to decrease someone’s attack rating. It lasts for ten seconds when inflicted and has a good regrow rate so you can hit many targets fast. The vital spot-muscle can be really usefull on STR builds because of their large amount of HP. When the parry ratio is lowered, the target will recive more damage. And for nukers or other hard hitting builds, a decreased attack rating will make their attacks weaker. You can inflict your target with both of them at the same time and the status can not be cured with uni pills. These skills can be used at any time without getting offender status. Its even possible to use them in a city’s safe zone.
Force increasing series
This skill is a passive one and adds up on your MP. Very usefull because you will have a low amount of MP due to your STR build.
Lightning
This mastery is what gives the build a good survival rate. You need to be able to avoid being targeted by several enemys and the best skill for that is imo speed. The lightning tree also provides increased parry ratio so you recieve lower damage.
Thunder force series
This will be your weapon imbue. Just like fire and ice, it adds up some extra power to your weapon. It has a transfer rate of 3m and give away extra damage to two nearby targets, so be prepared to agro mobs around you when fighting. Not much of a problem though, as you have plenty of HP to your advantage compared to an INT build. It will also inflict your target with electricity, which lower the parry ratio. For mobs this is usefull, while player enemys can easily cure the effect with uni pills.
Piercing force series
It increases the magical damage (INT build) you deal with a certain percantage. Not much of use, because you deal mostly physical damage (STR build).
Wind walk series
This provides two skills. Grass walk, which will increase your moving speed and ghost walk-phantom, which teleports you a few meters away at the direction of your mouse pointer. These two skills are the main reason of choosing lightning and not ice or fire. You will be hard to team up on and maybe even imposssible to catch, if your enemy has lower level of grasswalk.
Lion shout series
No use to you because it is a magical damage attack. The weapon masterys have got better ranged skills for your build.
Concentration series
This skill temporarily increas your parry ratio and will lower the damage you take. A good defensive skill that you need.
Thunderbolt force series
Same as Lion shout series, a ranged magical attack that is not very useful to your build.
Heaven’s force series
This skill is a passive one and also adds up on your parry ratio like concentration series. So you should get this one too.
Hope this guide will inspire you to choose the force mastery as one of your main skills. Going lightning as a blader may sound weird because it is not very common. But it is the speed you are after in this build, and not the highest dealing damage like fire or the longest survival rate like ice. You will in some situations stay away from fighting and only act as support. No need to be a super tank (someone who can withstand a lot of damage) like ice bladers or higher damage dealer like fire bladers.
Having three main mastery trees may sound alot. But I haven’t notice any hard time getting enough SP for them. I even leveled up all the force skills and my weapon skill up to 32 before I decided to go with lightning and force together with bicheon.
This is not said to be the best healer build. Everthing is based on my own thoughts of which skills that may help you out the most. The more different builds there are, the more usefull they all get. So get inspired, have some thinking done and then choose the way you feel is the best to go.

Nuker Guide June 4th, 2007 1.The skills
If you want to be a nuker and show all those thick skulled strength pures whose boss, you?re going to have to be, from the very start, pure intelligence. If you go for being a nuker, you will use magic incredibly often. So, here are the skills you will need.
Cold: Nothing here except maybe the cold wave series 1st level of the first book.
Lightning: Thunderforce Series: As high as possible
Piercing Series: As high as possible
Windwalk Series: as high as possible
Shock Lion Shout: You should get this farily high, and you shouldn?t get rid of the levels here once you get wolf?s thunderbolt, because it is good for finishing an opponent off as quickly as possible.
Concentration: Get this pretty high, but it is not abosolutely mandatory
Thunderbolt Series: This is the main weapon of the nuker, and you must put this before all other skills.
Bicheon: Smash Series: If you have points left over it?s ok. Get the first book when youre a low lvl
Chain Series: Same as smashing series
Shield Technique Series:pointless. This build is all about attacking
Blade Force Series: This should be about as high as you?re shock lion shout for lightning
Hidden Blade/ Killing Heaven Series: Get these fairly high, they?re good finishers, and while the opponent?s on the ground you might be able to nuke them (I?m not sure though. Try it out)
Sword Dance Series: A must. It releases several attacks with high damage
Shield Protection: It only takes one skill mastery level, so you might as well take it, but don?t start getting obsessed with defence. Your not a tank.
Force: You can get whatever you want with this, just so long as you have ressurection and the passive skill.
2. Why the nuker?
It takes a long time to get, it has low hitpoints and it?s hell getting to level 30 with such low hitpoints, made even more painstaking by the skill point farming (which you have to do)
But, once you get there, you can take out mobs of creatures slightly lower than yourself in a few hits, giving you massive experience. And, for PvPing, this is the ultimate aider in combat. If you have a friend with high defence and high hitpoints run into a fight, with you off to the side raining down death from above, you and you?re friend will seriously own.
But why all those skills, generally considered to be worse than fire and a bad compromise? First of all, for nukers, lightning and bicheon both give you a ranged attack before any other skills. And, lightning?s nuke, when you have full piercing series, actually does more damage then fire?s! (Really, go ahead and check it. With the 16% increase, it does more)
Also, lightning spreads out, and this effect is increased by wolf/ tiger thunderbolts, which spread out to multiple targets without the added lightning effect of doing so anyway. Bicheon?s sword dance also does this, and sword dance can be combined with thunderforce series to do crazy damage. With all of these benefits, you can take out low lvl mobs in a second.
Also, with lightning, you get windwalk, which is, as far as I am concerned, the best skill in the world for nukers. When it?s at it?s maximum, you actually move faster than a red horse, which is extremely helpful for escaping from tanks and strength based characters. Bowman can be more of a problem, especially if they are intelligence based characters with high cold.
3. Battle Plan.
Some of you may be able to get these skills without any problem, but then, because you do not have a good strategy, you get beaten. So let?s start off with the basics. Armor? Garments. Always. The increased moving speed and lowered mp usage plays right into your hands. Weapon? Sword. You are intelligence based, remember, and although it is hard to resist the looks of a blade, a sword helps you out much more. Also, always have a lot of potions and auto potion recovery turned on.
Normally, in a battle, you should have a guild member or party member attack the enemy first, and while the enemy is preoccupied, you can shoot in a few thunderbolts and sword dances, which will almost undoubtedly kill him. But if you?re solo, just follow this basic strategy: never let the enemy get a hit on you. When he first attacks, you should first look to see what he is wearing. If it is strength based equipment, such as a glavie or blade, you should immediately fire off a wolf?s thunderbolt, then turn on thunderforce and use a sword dance on him. If all goes well, he will be damaged severely before he even reaches you, because he is an idiot strength character. Then, once he gets you, immediately use your hidden blade on him, then killing heaven. With luck, he is now dead, but if not see if you can use a shock lion shout on him to finish him off. If not, run a few meters away and wait for him to get up. Then rinse and repeat continuously until you kill him.
But what if it?s an intelligence based character? This calls for a whole new game plan. First, you must hit him with a cold wave arrest, then a sworddance/ thunderforce, since he is weak to physical damage. Do a blade force, then run up to him and do hidden blade followed by killing heaven. All of this should still have thunderforce to back it up if you have it at it?s highest level, giving you eight seconds of destruction. By now he should be dead but if not, wait for him to get up and use a chain sword attack on him, which should finish him off because of his low hitpoints. The biggest problem is intelligence based bowman with high cold, which will eliminate most of your advantages, such as speed, long range (a bow has better range then you) and being able to get close for a finishing blow since they can stay away from you. The best way to counter this is to have plenty of universal pills ready, and asides from that to use the same strategy with other intelligence based characters: just hit them as hard and as fast as you can.

Classes Guide June 4th, 2007 1. Tier Based Mastery System
1.1 What is a Tier Based Mastery System?
Silkroad employs a leveling system very similar to that of THQ?s Titan Quest (even though Titan Quest came many years afterwards). Very simply explained, to gain the various skills in Silkroad you must level up your Mastery (ies) with skill points to “unlock” the skills. Once you have the appropriate level Mastery you may purchase skills once again with Skill Points. An excellent example is the first skill in the Fire Mastery, “River Fire Force Lv1″. When you first begin the game press “s” to bring up your skill page. Select the “Force” tab and then the “Fire” tab. When you put your mouse over the first skill (it looks like a book until the mastery is at the appropriate level). It will say “River Fire Force Lv 1″ Required Mastery Level 5. This means that your Fire Mastery must be Level 5 before you may gain the River Fire Force Skill. Additionally your Skill Masteries may not exceed your own level.
1.2 What are the Masteries?
There are four ¡°Force¡± Masteries and three weapon Masteries. In this circumstance ¡°Force¡± has been used as a bad translation for ¡°Magic¡± The weapon masteries are ¡°Bicheon¡± ¡°Heuksal¡± and ¡°Pacheon¡±. The Bicheon masteries deal with sword, shield and blade (blade is a heavier sword with better physical damage than the sword but poorer magical damage), The Heuksal masteries have glaive and spear skills and the the Pacheon is the bow mastery.
The four Magical masteries are Fire, Lightning, Cold and again Force. Fire deals the most damage ideal for PvP, Lightning has area effect spells good for tanking mobs, Cold has party support spells like slow etc.. and in this circumstance Force is healing magic.
1.3 How do i use the Mastery System to the full advantage?
Firstly Silkroad has a Mastery cap of 300. What this means is that you may have the equivalent of 300 levels of a single Mastery, 150 levels of two Masteries, 100 levels of 3 Masteries etc.. or any other distribution that does not exceed the cap of 300. At the moment the level cap of Silkroad is 80 so this allows for 3 masteries maxed out at 80 (240) and a 4th mastery at level 60. However for the sake of prudence, should the level cap be extended to 100 which it surely will given time, this will only allow for 3 Masteries to be maxed out. There for it is advisable that you chose only 3 Masteries. Additionally keep in mind that you need not chose ALL the skills in the mastery. This is a waste of skill points. Only chose the skills that benefit the your character build.
2. Skill Points
2.1 Why are Skill Points important?
Without Skill points you cannot gain Skills. While the skills between level 1 ¨C 20 are very cheap, let this not fool you. At higher levels skills are VERY expensive, so it is best to stockpile skill points and unlearn old skills.
2.2 How do i know if i have enough Skill Points?
There is a skill point calculator on MMO site which is EXCELLENT. Props to the creator, DeathZai. However should you be new to the game, you wont be know what skills to use, so that might require a bit of trial and error, and several ruined characters. However to give you the best shot at achieving a good character on your first attempt simply follow the guidelines below in regards to collecting skill points.
2.3 How do i best go about gaining Skill Points
To best gain skill points you will have to maintain a ¡°gap¡±. The term gap is used to define the distance between your actual level and the level of your highest mastery. For example a level 22 with a highest mastery of 15 has a gap of 7.
Simply put, the higher your gap the more skill points you will gain when killing monsters, but you will also gain much less normal xp. Also the smaller your gap the more xp but the less skill points gained. I have found that a gap of 7 will give approximately even xp to skill points ratio. However i haven?t met two single players that can agree on how many skill points are required to build a successful character, so don?t stress if some one says that you?ve wrecked your character. It all depends on which skills you need.
2.4 What is “SP” farming?
SP (Skill Points) farming is the term given to people who concentrate solely on gaining SP at the extreme expense to the time taken to level. There is an excellent guide written on SP farming by Rampage. However in a nut shell SP farmers are people that seek to gain as many SP before they hit level 20 as possible, since as you require more xp to level, the higher up you go, so it is with skill points.
3. Classes
3.1 What are the Classes in Silkroad?
Simply put there are no classes in the strictest sense. There are several guides written on this site that refer to ¡°Builds¡±, recipes if you will that make a certain type of character. In the following section i will detain several builds that are similar to universal character classes, like fighter, mage, priest etc.
3.2 How do i achieve a particular “character build”
The Fighter:
Often referred to as a pure strength build a good build for a fighter is as follows:
Attributes: Pure strength (100% strength upgrades, no intelligence) Amour: Garment. The pure strength gives you a high phys defense, and garment will give you a decent magical defense, making a well rounded character that can take a lot of damage of different types. Weapon: Either a Glaive or a Blade and Shield. Personally i think that a Glaive is a better option, as the pure strength build gives lots of HP, so the shield isn?t too important. Masteries: Weapon (either glaive or blade), Fire (lots of damage) and lightning (other types of damage) Skills: Only use weapon skills (shield skills if applicable) and buffs. Nukes are a waste of time for the warrior. Keep in mind that you will have limited MP as a fighter and chose spells wisely.
The Mage: Often referred to as a pure intelligence build or a Nuker the mage is as follows:
Attributes: Pure Intelligence Amour: Garment. Although this leaves the mage vulnerable to physical damage (¾ of the damage in Silkroad is physical), mages have always been slayed in close combat. Ergo, stay away from close combat. Weapon: Sword and Shield. A shield is a *must* for mages, for the extra physical defense. Additionally even thought the sword does less damage than the spear, its not like the mage will be relying on his weapons. Masteries: Fire and Lightning have the best Nukes (level 30 skills usually). However the freezing and slowing spells of the Cold mastery can be very useful for the mage. Therefore take the Bicheon mastery till level 30, and max out Fire, Lighting and Cold. Skills: All buffs, a small amount of weapon skills for just in case, and nukes. Read the nukers guide by JOHN LUCZKOW for more details on what spells to take.
The Priest/Paladin: This is a Hybrid build. Secondary spell caster and warrior
Attributes: 66% Strength, 33% Intelligence Amour: Protector Weapon: Either Blade and Shield or Glaive Masteries: Weapon, Force and one other. Either Cold (Priest) or Fire (Paladin). The Cold mastery is a more supportive mastery, while the fire mastery makes excellent an contribution in close combat. Skills: All buffs, Healing skills, resurrection etc. Weapon skills. Once again no nukes. To use Nukes requires a certain commitment
The Hunter (or Ranger): Bow wielding maniac. Excellent build for SP farming
Attributes: Pure Strength Amour: Garment Weapon: Bow Masteries: Fire, Cold, Bow Skills: All buffs, slowing spells, weapon spells, Bow mastery
Thief: In Silkroad there is no thief build as such as any character may be a thief. However Fire mastery is a great idea, as it excels in PvP combat.

Farming Guide June 1st, 2007 So you ran out of skill points at level 29+ and your masteries haven’t even caught up to you yet?
At this point you’re trying to SP grind on monsters very slowly and painfully because your skills aren’t high enough to get the job done quickly and efficiently due to your lack of SP.
Here is a little SP secret to help you out.
Step 1) Get all your gold right now put it in your warehouse.
Step 2) Reroll a new character pick Bow and Armor
Step 3) Keep your masteries as high as possible until level 5 to reach it quickly
Step 4) once you reach level 5 raise Pancheon and Ice to Mastery 5 then train Anti Devil Bow lvl 1, and Ice River Force lvl 1
Step 5) Don’t worry if you don’t wanna use bow you can remove these two books later at minimal SP cost. At a quest you get at level 20, you can take it over and over to refine any skills you may have accidentally gimped your character with.
Step 6) Do not raise ANY masteries past level 5 yet
Step 7) Reach level 14 (At this point you’re at a 9 level difference between your current level and mastery, which is the highest SP gain possible in the game).
Step 8 )If you reach level 15 you may raise a mastery to level 6 (you must keep the difference of 9 between your level and mastery).
Step 9) Once you reach level 16, this is the point where you get a new bow. Raise your mastery to level 7 at this time (again, to keep your 9 difference). This is the level that you will begin to gain SP very fast.
Step 10) Find the biggest and baddest level 16 bow possible (+3, +4, +5). Whatever is the hardest hitting bow you can find so that you can one shot kill bandit archers
Step 11) You know that bandit stronghold camp (Bijeokdan Ui mountain stronghold)? Well there’s a building in the middle of it that has bandit archers with instant respawns, so go there (bring lots of arrows and lots of pots) and hit every archer you see to rake in the SP.
Tip: If you have a group XP share loot share you WILL be able to KS every giant that pops up for some big time SP, and someone that is low level that can’t one shot the archers can be you dedicated looter, you will all gain tons of SP, gold, and loot.
Our guild was able to gather between approx. ~20,000-35,000 SP points in only a few days using this method.
With my full INT Archer on Troy, I have made 75k SP in 8 days

Starter Guide June 1st, 2007 Silkroad takes place in China. You start off in the city of Jangan. This game is a bit different from other MMO’s. For starters, you aren’t necesarily a warrior or a wizard. You are kinda both. You can level up weapon skills, or magic skills (called force). What magic does is add elemental damage to your weapon, and at higher levels (min. 30) you actually get longer range magic that doesn’t require a weapon. There are three types of weapons, swords, polearms, and bows. Each type as two subcategories. 1 category has a higher magic attack, and one category has a higher physical attack. I’ve tried out both and averaged the damage they do. Since you almost always apply a magic force to an attack, the magic attack weapon is important. 3 out of 4 of your attacks will use magic, so a magic weapon will always benefit you more. Your physical attack is not much lower, and your average attack will be fairly higher. So whatever type you choose, for levels below 30 always choose the subtype with the higher magic attack. Each weapon type has special abilities. I have never used swords or bows, so I don’t know what theirs are. The first polearm ability is a thrust attack that increases ur physical by 160% for one attack. This combined with a type of force is very effective. The polearm ability also takes up less then half the mp of a force ability, but is really only useful against bosses, or enemies that are red to you. The next ability is a block which I never use. After that is a spinning attack that can attack 3 enemies simultaneously. The next two abilities I haven’t unlocked yet. The last ability is a permanent 102hp boost and you get it at level 15. There are four types of force, three of them enhance your weapons, the fourth one is healing. The first is ice. I don’t know much about this one, but it adds ice damage to your weapon, and it also has a chance to slow down or freeze an enemy. That’s about all I know about ice. The next type of force is lightning. This one I don’t know too much about, but it lowers the agility of your enemies. Then there is fire, which is my type. It does the most damage out of the elements, but it has the worst effect. It has a 25% probability of burning an enemy, and an enemy will usually die before the burn ever does anything anyway. And if a burn does work on a much stronger monster, like a boss, it does very little damage. Another fire ability is called fire shield. It adds fire to your shield and you take less damage, but I’ve never used this. Mainly because I use polearms and not shields. Another fire ability is where your fire damage is increased by 3%. It takes up 98mp, but lasts six minutes. It doesn’t add a whole lot of damage, but because of its long running time it is a must have. The next 2 I haven’t unlocked yet, but one of them is a fire arrow, and the other is a magic fire shield to block magic attacks. The last thing is a permanent 1% increase in your fire damage. Each of the forces have a special likes this. I’m not sure what ice and lightning do though. I think lightning added 9 to your accuracy. The first force ability is a self heal. It is very useful in the beginning. The next force cures abnormalities. The next force is for curing targets, including urself. The next is a revive, and I’m not sure about the one after that. The last is a permanent 102mp increase. Now, about how to choose skills. Pick one weapon and level that up a little more than half of how much you level your elemental force. Choose one of the three elemental force types and level that up constantly. I wouldn’t level up each subcategory in your force type, nor all the subcategories in your weapon type. Choose them sparingly. Also, level up your nonelemental force ability. Level that sparingly too. You will want to level up the self heal a lot. The abnormality heal is worthless to learn because u rarely get an abnormality, and u can cure the ones u do get with pills. You will get a lot of pills in the game, so don’t worry about it. Everyone should learn revive though by the time you have hit level 20 at the latest (you can learn it as soon as level 17). The mp boost is also a must have. Use ur self heal in between battles and use potions for in battles. Potions don’t take away any time from your attacks. There are three types of armor: armor, protector, and garment. Garment has the highest magic defense, armor has the highest physical defense, and protector is inbetween. Protector is a good beginners armor because it has a much higher mdef then armor and a much higher pdef then garment, and you run into both types of monsters equally. Know the price of all equipment in stores. 85% of the people on the streets sell equipment for more than the npc’s. Be careful. There are four categories of eace monster. There is a weak version, the regular version, a champion version, and a giant version. The weak version is easy to tell. It’s name will have small, decayed, or old in it. Somethign that is a dead giveaway. One monster has slave in its name. Another has ghost, and one has broken, and another has young. The champion monsters are twice the size of the regular monster, and is often glowing, or a very distinguishable color. They are usually one level higher then the regular monster, but have a lot more hp. Then there are giants. They are the same level as champions, maybe one level more, but have a whole lot of hp. Think of them as raid bosses. That should be enough to start you off. Happy gaming.

Gold Making Guide June 1st, 2007 I Save every gold. Every piece of gold, helps make a difference. Save as much as you can. Usually to do this, don’t buy gears from NPCs, boycott them, look around people’s stalls and find the item you want, at a cheaper price. This is less time consuming, and you’re saving money. Don’t buy useless crap you don’t need, like a level 20 Arabian Camel at level 1, you can‘t use it! Think better.
2 Getting gold(The Hot Spot). Kill monsters, pick up every gold it drops, like said above. Do quests, you gain some amounts of gold, ranging for 500-500k+, depending what quest, the higher levelled the quest is the more, you gain gold while making gold. Going to the Bandit Stronghold, when you can handle the damage from Bandits and Bandit Archers,I could do this when I Was about level 16 these monsters spawn so fast, and people have no time to pick up the gold, so you pick it up, you could gain 100,000 in one hour. Buy low, sell high, if you see someone selling something extremely cheap and could be bought for more, I say go for it, gaining from profit from less spent.
3 Gold from Jobs I. Traders It’s best to just do one star trades, no joke.If you go for 2+ stars trade, you have to hire hunters, unless you have a lot of friends who would provide you free hunter services, and you take risks of being robbed by thieves and more computer thieves will spawn and raid your trade. So keep it low.
4 Hunters Easy, you just need to be a good PvP, best if you are at a higher level. To gain money, you will provide services to traders, as hired mercenaries. Wages from 10k-50k+ depending what the Trader has to offer. Keep in mind, you have to support yourself with your own money and you’re trying to gain that back while gaining some amounts of profit.
5 Thieves Steal, Steal, Steal. You attack traders with 2+ stars trade. You might want to be a good PvP for this too, you are required to kill Hunters, Traders and high hit pointed transport with the goods. You have to have a transport, a thief suit and a bandit scroll, these can be bought at the Thief Village, the scroll will take a while to finish casting, so you might want to have some friends backing you up. If you successfully robbed the Trader, quickly pull out your transport (Brumpy, etc. which ever you have bought), pick up the loot and caste the scroll, once you made it back to the Thief Village, sell the stolen goods. If your too lazy to do that, see if you are lucky, find dropped goods that previous thieves left behind and take that and return to the Village.
6 PvE Templates Sword - INT Build Stat points: All INT or 1:2 Skill Trees: > Swordmanship: Concentrate on Chain Sword series and Shield Protection passive. A little bit of Hidden Blade and Killing Heaven also suggested. > Force Skills: For PvP go Cold + Lightning. For PvE go Fire + Lightning. Lightning: Wind Walk series, Lion Shout series, Heaven’s Force passive Cold: Cold Force series, Frost Guard series, Cold Armor passive, maybe one Frost Nova and Snow Storm series Fire: Fire Force series, Fire Protection series and Flame Wave series Glaive - STR Build Stat points: All STR Skill Trees: > Spearmanship: Concentrate on Soul Departs series, Chain Spear series, Cheolsam HP passive. Flying Dragon series Flying Dragon-Fly lvl1. Ghost Spear series good for dungeons. > Force Skills: Train Fire as your main and Lightning or Cold for support. (All three if you’re gonna SP farm forever.) Fire: Fire Force series, Flame Body series and Flame Devil passive Lightning: WindWalk series, Concentration Series, Heaven’s Force passive. Piercing Force series good later on. Cold: Cold Force series, Frost Nova series, and Cold Armor passive Spear - INT Build Stat points: All INT recommended since Spearmanship gives HP bonus passive. 1:2 ok too. Skill Trees: > Spearmanship: Cheolsam passive, Chain Spear is good to learn. > Force Skills: Lightning highly suggested. Thunder Force series, Wind Walk series, Lion Shout series, Thunderbolt series, Heaven’s Force passive. Bow - STR Build Stat points: All STR Skill Trees: > Bowmanship: Concentrate on Anti Devil series, Arrow Combo series, White hawk and Blue Hawk, Break Heaven series, Mind concentration passive. > Force Skills: Cold highly suggested. Cold force series, Frost Guard and Cold Armor. lvl1 Frost Nova-Wind can save your !@#$%^&* in bad situations. Lightning or Fire good to train for support if you can afford the SP. Lightning if you want more runspeed and accuracy. Fire if you want more damage
7 Gaining exp and Leveling
The best way is to gain exp and to level up is not to go alone and bash everything in sight, but instead to form a party. There can be 2 different types of party, You can form a party where every1 in the party gains exp for every kill a member makes, the advantage of this is your going to be gaining a small amount of every kill that happens around you. The other way is to form a party where each person gains their own exp, now that seems dumb right, just like I thought too when I was new, but then the fact is you gain about a couple extra percent of exp per every guy you have in your party when you do that way, so the benifit of this is pretty clear, more exp=faster leveling
The 4 Elements Cold : this element can freeze your enemies and stop them from moving for a short period of time and may also slow them down, it is most useful with a bow so you can strike from a range and kill them before they even had a chance to run to you
Fire: this element is the element that works the best with melee weapons because wit hevery hit you deal more and more damage and can cause burns, burns, burn away your enemies HP away slowly over time which then makes it even easier for you to kill
Lightning: The benifits of this element is speed, lightning skills can give you a increase in attack speed and movement so you have a advantage and its lightning attacks splash onto near by enemies
Force : the most underated element is force, because it lacks any damage but in reality force is actually one of the best elements, for teamplayers anyways because you can heal everyone and rez if they have died, and this is a way to make gold sometimes too I’ve done this as 1 of my ways to earn gold though people might always pay you, I’ve made from 500-10k of gold just from using my rez button for som1 who needed a rez
8 The 3 Jobs There are 3 different jobs you can take in silkroad, Theif, Hunter, Trader
Theif : To become a theif you need to buy a theifs suit at theif town and your almost set. To level your theif at 1 you pretty much can only fight hunters who are to protect traders, or steal goods on the floor and you wouldn’t beleive how often you would see them. Once you are lvl 2 you can attack traders to loot them, if they are doing a 2 star or higher trade, once you’ve killed them you would need a camel and a scroll to teleport to the town where you then sell your stolen goods
Hunter: To get a job as a hunter, you need to talk to the general and buy the suit,Hunters are the most simplest, your job is to protect hunters, you gain exp by killing theifsthere is no real wage for a hunter because it depends on how much the trader would pay for your services, so I guess if you want to be a hunter, lvl him up alot so you can make lots of gold because traders would want your protection from theives
Trader: To ge ta job as a trader you will need to talk to the trader merchant and buy the suit. To level your trader you would need a camel and to buy goods from the goods seller next to the trader merchant in town, The higher your trader lvl then the more goods you can carry before adding a another star to your caravan because lvl 1 caravans cannot be attacked by real human player theives, but 2 or higher may be, I advise starters to keep their caravans at lvl 1 or hire hunters
9 Guilds and Guild Points
To form a guild you would need to be level 20 or more, and 500,000 gold, as a level 1 guild you can have up to 15 members to level your guild you will need lots of gold and GP ( guild points ) in order to obtain GP ,you need to earn skill points, every skill point you earn the guild earns 1 GP, I wouldn’t advise forming a guild so early, as you could buy alot of other stuff with the 500,000, a guild though can prove to be very handy when you need help as a trader or on quests
10 Random stuff
- Alot of quests are linked to another 1, so do them all or you won’t be able to unlock new 1’s - Fight monsters your level as you get higher leveled, weaker monsters give out less exp to you - You can lose a item when you die, so keep all valueables in storage if you are not using it - You are given about 5 new quests every level but you might not be able to them if you havn’t finished the 1 linking to it - You have to be level 20 to take on a job - You can take on all 3 jobs if you wish, but doing a sucessful trade will decrease theif exp and vice versa - You can gain unlimited skill points thru out the game - You can reset skills, with a reset potion, which you can obtain with 10 cursed hearts which you may obtain via killing random monsters - You can use elixirs to upgrade your weapons but there is a chance you will fail and lose the elixir for nothing.

Random Factoids: - a nuker in armor holding sword+shield can tank a str blader in garment.. that is until lvl 68 :X curse that double stab - nukes do not crit. - nukers are a luck based 1 v 1 build. They excel in group combat though because of the sheer amount of AOE at higher levels. - you will die alot on group war. (because every will gank you first), just get a nice tanker to go in before you. - a wolf is useless for nukers, if i could i would just keep mine for show as apuppy and not have it grow ^^
Stat points: keep magical balance at 90%+ to be a NUKER nuker. Anything below that, use nukes as an opener when far away, then use melee attacks.
I have a strong feeling that Full INTs will not have enough HP later in the game. Screenshots show them having around 7-8000 HP (depending on if you get the HP Passive) at lvl 90. The Hp Passive stops at lvl 60, meaning the spears lose their advantage of extra padding at that level. I have noticed in kSRO that nukers after lvl 60 have realized that 90% magic balance is enough to still wreak havoc BUT have some HP to back it up and survive a hit or 2.
Difference between a Sword\Spear: Sword+shield: - block factor can safe your life (has saved me many times) - extra defense (shield is like an extra piece of armor) - investing into the bicheon skill tree gives the knockdown skill, which can be life saving as well. - if you decide to go with the sword tree, KD + Stab is your best friend
Spear: - higher damage than the sword - investing into the heuksal tree gives a nice hp bonus. - nice skill that can stun opponents, allowing either to run away or the execution of another nuke [basically i use spear for pve and sword+shield for pvp]
Armor or Garm? - whatever you want until hotan, or get pass the dead ravine, then armor from then on. - another thing i like is STR armor, and with new alchemy system, HP statted armor. alot of nukers like + int stuff, but my take on this is that you already do so much dmg… should be around 90%+ for a pure int, why not get more hp? when in armor in str statted gear, you can take a lot more hits, and wont die from a crit.
Skills Required
Which Imbue? Fire or Light imbue are the best to choose because they do the most damage.
Buffs? Lightning Tree=Must Piercing force: (magical damage +) and Concentration series: (parry ratio +)
choose either: Fire:Fire Protection Series (magic defense +) OR Ice:Frost Guard Series (physical defense +) Frost Nova Series (AOE Freeze)
Which Nuke? Thunderbolt Series is a should have, because you’re already investing into the lightning tree.
then depending on which buffs you choose, you either get
Flame Wave Series (high damage, small AOE attack at later levels) or Snow Storm Series (lower damage, but large AOE attack at later levels)
also get the passive skills for whichever tree you decide to go with
OPTIONAL SKILLS: Hawk Training Series from Pacheon tree: (attack rating addition:D) this skill will allow nukes to hit alot more at the top of their range, this is useful because nukes have such a great difference in the damage they do oh BTW, as long as you have fire and light, you can really put whatever you want for the remaining masteries. spear for more hp, sword for more block ratio,. ice for defense. mix and match, have fun.. nukers are all about support and heavy hitting

The Ultimate SilkRoad Online Guide June 1st, 2007 1. The Basics 2. Character Guide 3. Leveling Guide 4. Alchemy Guide 5. Triangle Conflict Guide
1.0 The Basics
Silkroad Online is a very unique game in many ways. The skill system is different from most games. In Silkroad Online, from now on refered to as SRO, there is NO classes. It is a classless skill system. Those familiar with the old Ultima Online experienced this method of play. Essentially when you start the game you don’t select being a warrior or a mage or anything. That “class” feel is developed over your characters life. Check section 2 about character development.
1.1 What is a Triangle Conflict?
Silkroad Online has whats called a Triangle Conflict. As you may guess from the name the game is based on a time period of China and the West known as the Silk Road Era. This was the time when silk and other goods were transported along, you guessed it, the silk road to and from Europe and China. The conflict stems out of one of 3 sub classes you can play as once you reach level 20. These classes are the Thief, Hunter and Trader. They are open PvP Classes. Thieves do what thieves do, they kill Traders and fight for their lives against hunters. Hunters protect the Traders while they move goods along the silk road killing thieves as they go. Traders are in it mostly for the money, either hiring hunters or just fending off thieves themself while trying to get to the next town. Check section 5 on the conflict.
1.2 Alchemy
Alchemy is a staple of the game. It allows characters to take existing equipment and potentially make it better. Alchemy starts with tablets and elements and eventually ends up being a nice bonus on your equipment, if you’re lucky. More detailed information can be found in section 4.
2.0 Character Guide
Before you start a character it is good to think ahead about what you want your character to be, what kind of weapon you want to use and what methods do you want to use to kick some !@#$%^&*. Here I will outline the basics of character development and what is considered a good “build”. A build is a way of developing a character in a strict sense to be the best that they can be. In SRO there are a limited amount of attributes but a vast amount of skills. The two attributes or stats are Strength and Intelligence. The best character builds focus on one or the other. There are key reasons behind choosing one or the other and not splitting yourself up in any ratio. A pure intelligence character has the potential to do a lot of damage using spells. Spell damage is based solely on intelligence and the level of the skill. This however makes a pure intelligence character have less in the way of hit points and physical defense but gives them a limitless amount of mana to spend and a high resistance to magic. A pure strength character has, in general, less damage potential than a pure intelligence character yet has a lot more hitpoints to withstand damage. A pure strength character has a higher physical defense and a weaker magical defense in contrast to the intelligence character.
By now you are may be asking yourself, why shouldn’t I build a hybrid of both strength and intelligence? The reasons are quite simple. You won’t do enough damage to kill a pure strength character and you won’t have enough hitpoints to take high amounts of damage from a pure intelligence character. If you follow my advice and play through the game as this guide outlines you will see why what I do and how I do it is a winning strategy, for now, have faith.
Lets quickly cover armor types because they are essential to a build. There are three types of equipment, Armor , Protector and Garment. Armor has high physical defense and low magical defense and has no movement speed bonus. Protector has a balanced physical defense and magical defense and a 10% bonus to movement speed. Garment has a low physical defense and a high magical defense and a 20% bonus to movement speed. For the moment lets forget about protector gear. In my opinion protector gear is worthless because of the same principals that drive characters to be either a strength or an intelligence character, it has balance.
Armor types are essential because they allow you to add balance to your character’s weakness. For example, a character based purely on strenth will have a lower magic defense. This can be counterbalanced by using Garment armor type. They also allow a strength based character who generally won’t have a ranged attack to close in on an enemy 20% faster due to the speed bonus. The opposite applies to intelligence based characters. They can wear armor to make up for their weakness to physical attacks. This gives them an edge fighting weapon users. They don’t need the speed bonus because they have ranged attacks and if someone flees it is likely they will die before they get out of range entirely. Early in the game I suggest wearing armor always because it helps you grind through the monsters which 95% of which do physical damage. At a higher level you can switch to whatever balances your character the best.
2.1 Character Builds
I will provide 3 simple builds that are effective in any type of combat situation. These builds are mainly meant for PvP which is the bread and butter of this game. I will not go into detail which skills to pick exactly. That alone might double the size of this guide. I am simply giving you a firm outline to work off of with some simple concepts. If you understand those concepts then picking the proper skills shouldn’t be very difficult.
The Strength Glaiver
Stat Points: ALL IN STRENGTH
Skill Tree :
Glaive/Spear Fire Lightning (Any of your choice)
The strength glaiver is an extremely popular character. Most likely because its a VERY good build. In the end this character will end up having an extremely high damage and be able to attack fast. Another advantage is the 12 to 14 thousand hitpoints this character ends up with. There are many other skill trees you can add as a fourth skill. Some people like Ice because it allows them to take the physical damage resistances that come with it. Some people like Force for extra mana and party based skills such as healing and resurection. In the end I’d say the best lonewolf character would be good with Ice if skill points allow.
The Sword and Shield Mage
Stat Points: ALL IN INTELLIGENCE
Skill Tree :
Sword Glaive/Spear Fire Lightning
This build is difficult because it requires a lot of skill points. It is one of the highest damage dealing builds in the game though. Some people argue why I add Glaive/Spear to the Skill tree. There is only one skill to take within this tree, the passive HP bonus skill. By level 70 this skill will give you an additional 1000 or so HP. This is a great help to a character with low HP. In the end this character will most likely wear armor. I personally prefer armor on this type of character. This character is a killing machine that requires a large amount of mana potions. When supplied with large amounts of mana this character can go for hours. The reason this character uses a sword/shield versus using a spear for magic damage is EXTREMELY important for this build. The block bonus and armor bonus that a shield gives you is HUGE. When a shield blocks it will negate ALL damage done by the attack, whether the attack did 10 or 10 thousand damage, you will take none. When fighting a weapon user and even other magic users it can be very annoying to them when they see all of their shots being blocked. The block alone makes up for this characters lack of HP.
The Strength Archer
Stat Points: ALL IN STRENGTH
Skill Tree:
Bow Fire Lightning (Any of your choice)
This build can be fun to play because of the rapid rate at which archers can shoot. This character has quite a few advantages but falls short damage wise of the above two classes. The base skill trees are Bow, for obvious reasons, Fire, for imbues and magic defense skills, and Lightning, for Grasswalk primarily. This class being strength based will give you as many hitpoints as the glaiver. You will be wearker to magic so wearing garment type armor is suggested. Both this and the Strength glaiver have the fire tree which has a skill for added magic defense. In PvP that skill is a must. Some archers like to focus heavily in Ice and for a few decent reasons. The ice skills allow you to freeze and slow your opponent, which is good but of the 3 force classes ice does the least ammount of damage. Considdering this character already lacks the damage potential of some of the other classes it makes more sense to pick fire for the pure damage output.
i don not take complete credit for this guide, i have had alot of help
