Hiya :)

I was wondering if anyone plays or played Far Cry 2?

Was quite surprised with none on the search results.

I just bought it off steam, installing it right now.
Saw my cousin play it, seemed really great. IGN rating and video review sounds good as well.

Can anyone tell me a little about the story?

Thanks :D

Hmm, doesn't sound very promising :P

I like the atmosphere so it will take quite some time for me to get bored. I love to just roam around in the jungle and find stuff etc.

Anyway, "GTA in AFRICA" sounds kinda funny ^^

Many people have complained about "biggest map ever".

Still looks good tough, it's an original idea.

I didn't find it that great.

From a technical side, the game looks stunning, ill give them that.

But everything starts to get a bit repetitve after a while and traveling the map takes forever...

And as Innocavious said, Guard Posts >_>

But i'd still try it out, might be your kinda game.

Yea I guess the roaming/discovering part really has to be something you like.

I just love going around places and seeing everything rather than just going for the main storyline non-stop.

I'm in the middle of a poker tournament atm, getting close to the payed places :P

Will be playing after that :)

I would like roaming around if i was able too without having to try to avoid so many guard outposts.

Even if they kept the same amount it would be nice if they took an in game day or two to repopulate. Ive gone through one before to get to a safehouse, i picked up some ammo and some health, went back through and all the dead bodys/bullet holes/exploded barrels were gone and all the guards were back. Its not like they are even difficult to get past, its just so annoying you have to constantly stop to deal with them.

That sounds quite annoying i have to say.

Isn't there a way to pass them?

Not sure why people think its so annoying. The guard posts should have a longer respawn though, since now its like 5 minutes. Game looks amazing on the highest settings, fire is always fun. If you dont want to get annoyed, don't just play to finish missions. Take your time and have fun, and cont just go in and shoot up the posts. Plan a good assault. I love the game personally, being able to choose the weapons i want for a certain mission, time of day. Using things for distractions and setting up traps for the AI. The drives do get a tad annoying, but the bus stations make it a lot easier for you to get around. Do wish there were some predatory animals though. But with steam having it for $15, theres really no reason not to have it.

This is how I play my games, I like to enjoy and explore all content of the game. Making a nice trap for some npcs is really what I would spend hours and hours on.

Ended up playing some css games, gonna try it now finally :P

Launched it earlier and I was stuck in windowed mode - seemed to be a common problem. Alt+enter'd and now my monitor auto-adjusts the screen and it put the game 2 inches outside the screen on the left -_-
