Not too sure, but it is P2P. i spend more than 15$ in sro so i am gonna try this game, but my PC is a bit crappy 1GB ram, dual core 1.86 GHz, radeon x1300 (256 mb) i am sure it will be lagy ( but i hope good options there)[/quote] My computer is worse than yours. I have an AMD Athlon XP 3200+ (single core), 512MB RAM, nVIDIA FX 5200 (128MB). It handles SRO alright since I run Ubuntu instead of XP. I'd love to give this game a try, but I don't have the extra cash to pay a monthly fee. I guess I'm out of luck.

Also, I'm getting the new mac 17" pro, Nividia 9600M GT (512mb), 2.66GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 4GB (two 2GB SO-DIMMs) of 1066MHz DDR3 SDRAM. Any support for mac anyone? Or bootcamp only? Also, how well do you think it'll run? Speculations are fine.

Even if there's not native support on the Mac, you might do fine running the game on the Mac with whatever Mac's equivilent is for WINE in Linux. I seem to remember a Mac project out there for that.

Quote: As we know, Aion will be released as a subscription-based game. But how much will it cost per month and how many types of cards will there be available?
Finally, yesterday NCsoft announced that Aion will start commercial service from November 25th, 2008 and there will be four types of prepaid game cards for choosing.
1-month card: 19,800 won (approximately 13.7 USD*), 300 hours for 30 days
3-month card: 47,520 won (approximately 32.9 USD), 900 hours for 90 days
3-hour card: 3000 won, (approximately 2 USD)
30-hour card: 12,000 won ((approximately 8.3 USD)
Compared to World of Warcraft and Lineage II currently operated in South Korea, Aion's 1-month and 3-month game cards are priced the same with World of Warcraft, while lower than Lineage II. However, it needs to be noted that there is not time limit for World of Warcraft's monthly cards, but Aion is otherwise. Dunno if this was posted but yea, if these prices are true ill be pretty happy. Although the hours thing seems a bit shitty imo.

yeah that hour thing sounds a bit sketchy...300 hours is like 12 days of total game time and while i probably won't go over that in 1 month i'd rather not be limited..

Quote: NCsoft to add Fatigue System to Aion.
NCsoft is planning to do a massive update to Aion in February in which a fatigue system called Pneuma from Rest (non-official translation) will be added. The fatigue system in Aion is designed to cut the number of hours players spend in front of their computer screens by reducing experience points and item drop rate in order to prevent gamers from getting addicted to Aion. A similar fatigue system has been adopted in Korean WOW.
According to the system, if the gamer plays Aion for more than 3 consecutive hours, his Pneuma from Rest will start to reduce. When it reaches zero, the experience points obtained by the player as well as his item drop rate will reduce 30%, and in addition during PvP his damage to the opponent will reduce as well. But if the player takes a rest for three hours, his Pneuma from Rest will recover 100% and then everything will return to normal. Quoted from here http://news.mmosite.com/content/2009-02 ... 86,1.shtmlThats just ridiculous..I mean why should the older generation of gamers suffer because some kids are getting addicted to games and ruining their education or w/e. Not happy about this idea at all =\. EDIT: sry, apparently this concept is only for koreans. Got worried there for a sec

So if you're "supposed" to play the role of your character, and your character can get tired, then shouldn't you "get tired" too and go back to town to rest, possibly logging off but not necessarily? It makes the game a little more realistic in a way. We can't expect the characters to have the ability to run around killing for hours on end without getting tired. Edit: haha I wasn't paying attention and put SRO instead of Aion in my original response

I think I'll stick to WoW for now, even when this game comes out. With the graphical demand of this game, trying to do massive raids would be a bitch for my card.

hm 300 hours is 10 hours a day for 30 days... seems reasonable
with fatigue system you only get about 7 hours of play a day to begin with... if you do have to rest for 3 hours every other 3 hours
rather wish sro had something like this, would mean bots wouldnt work well and people would have time to stall/get off and open up server

I am not sure though. I don't think there will be any time limitation in EU/US version.
