Hello, Aion community.

Thank you for showing great interest to our game.

Our Aion team is always listening to what the community has to
say. At the same time, we are addressing the problems that the
community brings up, such as problems in gameplay. We are
always striving to provide the best service to our community.

Recently, on our home page message board, there have been
complaints about illegal programs and we took this very seriously.

Illegal programs, also known as bots, break the rules, disrupts
gameplay, and disrupts the enjoyment of other gamers.

Starting on November 14th, we began to officially address the
problem through legal proceedings. We are in the process of
blocking the IP addresses that are associated with the bot users.
We are continuously updating GameGuard to keep blocking new
instances of bots. The Aion Team is in the process of hunting
down the bot makers to press charges through legal means.
In our crackdown against botters, it is possible that innocent
gamers could be mistargeted. However, to prevent this, we are
using extensive means to carefully monitor the suspected players
to make certain that they are indeed cheating.

Our Aion team does not support the use of bots. Finally, we want
to show you how to report botters in-game. If you suspect
someone of using bots, we would appreciate that you use this
report feature.

[How to report botters in-game]
In the game, if you see a botter, or suspect someone of botting,
open up Skills Window (K) then click the Actions Tab and then the
'Report Botter' button. Through this method, you will be able to
easily report botters.

Drew_Benton and clockwork will surely mess it up for u guys, this is going to be SRO vol 2 bot-wise. Just give it some time and 0x33 will have a perfect (multiclient?) bot working. NCsoft will surely hunt botters alot more actively then Joymax, but dont underestimate Drews & clockworks skills.

My bet is, Aion will suffer under the 0x33 reign, just as SRO does.

Of course every mmo turn in to botfest sooner or l8r, the process just got faster l8ly.
Aion will most likely use encryption in communication and client side too.
Ncsoft called up on korean gov. to help fight the bot/gold companies, I wouldn't hold my breath over that.
There is ingame bot reporting, at first they most likely ban bots fast ..

ofcourse their will be bots even WoW has bots but no where as much as sro, which is how aion will be i believe and they are banning bots alot in aion kr and IP bans as well which means if caught ur fcked.

Agreed. It annoys the hell out of me that retards think that there is NO bots in WoW, and that AION will end up like SRO. FFS, almost, if not all, mmos have bots to a certain degree. I have yet to see an an MMO with ZERO bots. Just because ox33 and others are supposedly creating/developing a bot doesn't mean you should assume the same SRO bot fate will come with AION. Remember, SRO has very lazy and greedy developers/moderators, and from the sounds of it they (AION) are pretty active at banning (IP and accounts). SRO is also a F2P, which ,in general, has shitty ass service (such as higher degree of bots). AION is P2P, which is better service (such as less degree of bots). I'm just assuming myself based on P2P (such as WoW, AoC, etc) trends of quality and service compared to F2P's (SRO, SoTNW, etc.) trends.

people alot of people who play sro pay upwards of 30$ a month for silk adding 4 dollars for bot and thats around 34$ per month. If Aion follows most MMO price formulas it will probably cost 15$ per month add in bot cost and we're still only looking at 20$ per month. Saying that P2P will deter botters and ppl who make bot accounts is a false statement as well all know that at least 50% of the SRO community buy silk and bots so paying a monthly fee for Aion and Botting would cost less than buying all that silk+botting.

WoW has a determined staff that is committed to customer happiness. Yes there are bots in WoW i have a friend who botted for a bit but since i've started playing i've never encountered one on Illidan which is a very crowded server. I understand the game is still in its early stages and im far from righting it off yet but the recent information, that there are still tons of lvl 38 bots (current cap is 45), and that they now have access to hacks that allow faster attack speed and damage is ridiculous. Aion will have he same chance to turn into another bot infested game like SRO and thats something im entirely not interested in.

I had high hopes but Korea better do something about this or this game is going to either flop or just have a bot infested community...

Yes, aion korean servers are full bot infested, a lot of areas 1mob/1bot ...
Guess there is nothing to do in mmo-s anymore, writing bot bigger business then the game.
Either an mmo sux that bad that no1 cares about it or it is good and full of bots.

For now it looks bad for aion.

From what it sounds like, the Aion team is going to handle the bot problem better than Joymax, so I'm not worried.

I decided to look into the game today since I've been hearing about it a lot, and I think I might try it when it comes out. I want to be a SpiritMaster. :love:
