I think it's safe to say anyone that enjoyed playing the first starcraft has been waiting eagerly on starcraft 2, especially since they officially announced it. Although I prefer the RTS style Warcraft 3 has in that the game was more centralized around individual units including your hero unit(s) as well as strategies with creeping, I can't wait to play starcraft 2.

I'm not sure. SC1 was ok but not really that good. Although SC1 was the first RTS I ever played.

the reason why the game is so epic is that blizzard did such a good job balancing all the races.

and I smell phail with sc2. I was expecting a remake of sc1 with a lot more units, but here they just completely redid the entire game and all the units. It isn't starcraft anymore when you don't see reavers, tanks, or mutalisks. From what I see, it just looks like warcraft 3 with a really good mod on it.

I hated the RTS style Warcraft had.
Too much health, too little damage. A lot less macro intensive as well.

Except we do see tanks and mutalisks, and the game is only in alpha.
Although, I'm not fond of how Terran and Zerg look. Protoss is alright though. Visually speaking, of course. I hope they go for a more gritty and realistic look rather than the cartoonish form that WoW and Warcraft III took to.

I've never played Starcraft, i like the more realistic or historic oriented RTS games, like Age of Empires and World in Conflict (sure no RTS will be that realistic because of the genre itself, but i mean no supernatural shit and so). Futuristic environments aren't my thing, the only futuristic game i've enjoyed was MassEffect.
