Sony and Microsoft stepped up their game. Especially Microsoft, Sony went after core gamers with a slight ting of casual. Microsoft focused on Casuals but kept up the surprises and successfully targeted the core gamer. Nintendo, well They're doing their casual "here to make you smile" thing. I was most satisfied with Microsoft and Sony, although Microsoft made it seem like they were ripping some Nintendo Ideas.

That new Nintendo Wii add on looks awesome, if it really is that accurate its going to make the games much much better.

Microsoft delivered as usual. Sony's was pretty good.
Nintendo failed big time.

I'm not gonna watch over an hour of video for each company. srsly? each companies announced so much. each one of the conferences was 2hours i think and they didn't shut up about there new games the whole time. i watched the Sony one and part of the Microsoft one. Sony new:PS3: new better content coming to online(movies tv, etc.),God of War 3 announced trailer shown, M.A.G. promising new title posted a few above^,killzone 2 game play looks promising and suppose to come out this year. PSP: will have a r+c psp, God OF war psp, etc.,force unleashed version of the game for PSP only, nothing very good or new for the psp either then those player packs. PS2: not much -_- Yakuza 2 and a new bundle pack for $149. Xbox: Halo wars, FFXII(think that it) is going exclusive to xbox now(not ps3 anymore), talked about how people can make songs on GH4 when it comes out and share songs with people, also talked about rockband 2 a lot, got bored and stopped watching xbox press conference. Nintendo: didn't see it yet EDIT: WTF IS THAT Da_Realest?

Some poor guy is trying to play the drums in Wii Music or some crap musical game. I forgot. This sums up Nintendo's press conference.

to sum up Nintendo's conference, they have a new add on for the Wii remote coming out with their new Wii Sports Resort game which improves the motion sensor capabilities a lot to the point it can mimic wrist & arm actions in real time. Also the Wii Fit Board is going to be used for other games, a snowboarding game was shown as the main example to what it can do and how it works with other games.
also about that gif, nice to see that Sony fanboys hard at work isint it

Final fantasy XIII versus is still ps3 only I think and the 360 is getting its own part of the story. either way this makes it much harder for me to decide what to buy, I don't want to play 360 frat boy games but now the only ps3 exclusive that I care about is MGS4. Maybe I'll just get a wii :/

Quote: Final Fantasy XIII (ファイナルファンタジーXIII, Fainaru Fantajī Sātīn?) is an upcoming console role-playing game developed and published by Square Enix for PlayStation 3 in Japan, North America and Europe, and announced at E3 2008 for the Xbox 360[2] in North America and Europe. from Wiki, guess it is for both consoles...they really should get there story straight at e3, tards

also about that gif, nice to see that Sony fanboys hard at work isint it Sony showed tons of games, you know, something Nintendo showed very little of. Nintendo didn't even mention WiiWare or VC content. What did Sony show? A great Resistance 2 trailer, LittleBigPlanet, a new Ratchet&Clank game for 15 dollars, GTTV, a new PSP bundle, a video download service, DC Online Universe, Infamous, God of War 3, MAG, etc. I'll just list the games shown in Sony's conference and Nintendo's conference.
PLAYSTATION 3 BUZZ!(TM) Quiz TV God of War(R)3 Gran Turismo 5 Prologue Heavy Rain inFamous Killzone(TM) 2 LittleBigPlanet(TM) MAG Motorstorm(TM): Pacific Rift NBA '09 The Inside Resistance 2(TM) SingStar (TM) Volume 2 SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs Confrontation
PSP BUZZ! (TM) Master Quiz LocoRoco(TM)2 NBA '09 The Inside Patapon(TM)2 Resistance: Retribution (TM) Super Stardust(TM) Portable
PSN Fat Princess Crash Commando Flower PAIN PixelJunk(TM) Eden Ragdoll Kung Fu(TM)
---------------------
Wii Shawn White Snowboarding Animal Crossing: City Folk Star Wars: Clone Wars Rayman Raving Rabbids: TV Party Call of Duty: World at War Wii Sports Resort Wii Music
DS Cooking Navi Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars Guitar Hero: On Tour: Decades Pokemon Rangers: Shadow of Alma Guitar Hero: On Tour: Decades
Thats it...
Its funny because on just about all major gaming websites, Nintendo's press conference is ranked last. If you're saying Nintendo's press conference was better than Sony's, you're either a Nintendo fanboy or a casual gamer. Really, there is no comparison.
Wii Music is nothing like Rock Band or Guitar Hero. I'll find some quotes.
It’s more apparent that the simulated activity of playing a musical instrument will be dumbed-down more than the swinging of a tennis racket was.
The casuals will love it, but I question the long-term playability value for the rest of us.
I think Wii Music will be really compelling for the casuals (and worth the two extra years of development time the game has had). Just not sure of the appeal to existing music-game fans.
Wii Music wasn't impressive. We joined with two Nintendo PR reps to create a band, and we all struggled through Twinkle Twinkle Little Star and other standards. Mostly we waved the Wiimotes around and produced what sounded like drunken versions of the songs, but since there is no score, you can't fail.
For the moment, Wii Music appears to be on track to make a huge splash, but rhythm fans will likely need not apply—for all its flash, Wii Music is a toy just like Nintendo's Electroplankton (NDS), but one whose hardware advantages don't seem as well implemented as they could have been.
But most of the instruments seem to involve nothing more than repeating the same gesture in what you feel is the "correct" rhythm. With no skill or challenge involved -- and no discernable objectives -- we're not sure how long even the most desperate of music lovers who lack musical talent will stay interested.
We've seen that in the guitar, maracas, drums, piano, and saxophone already, and each is more a "baby's first music toy" than an actual game. Sometimes the casual-centric designs go too far even for the casuals. Wii Music may be the biggest proof of that thus far.
All of those quotes are from different gaming websites. Please don't try to compare quality games that have depth and require skill to that piece of crap known as Wii Music.
Wii MotionPlus... Yea, something that should have been implemented in the beginning. Basically Nintendo is saying they failed so here's a peripheral fix for it.
Wii Sports:Resort.... Nothing more than a glorified tech demo. Only casual gamers will love it. Everyone else will get bored of it in a few days or a week or so at most.
Snowboarding game? Those graphics are crap. I think I seen better graphics on the PS2 or Dreamcast.

The conference was a failure.
On a side note, I don't own a PS3 or a 360. I own a Wii.
EDIT: Even Yahoo didn't like the conference.
In contrast, it was hard to dodge the grumbling on the way out of the Nintendo event. Where were the classic franchises we all know and love? Where, for that matter, was Mario? Nintendo fans had to make do with a new Animal Crossing title, and an oh-so-vague mention of a Grand Theft Auto game on the DS handheld. Accessories like the MotionPlus controller plug-in and the WiiSpeak microphone are all very well, but don’t we have enough bits of plastic cluttering up our houses already?

Well this is what happens now..until the new consoles come out either Microsoft, Sony or Nintendo will have any really big announcements to make...also no offence but you do sound like an fanboy or self Quote: Wii MotionPlus... Yea, something that should have been implemented in the beginning. Basically Nintendo is saying they failed so here's a peripheral fix for it. lol...yea so if they add anything onto it it means that they failed? so i guess Sony and Microsoft failed when they realize new versions of their consoles or controllers? Yea using ur logic i guess Microsoft failed the last 3 years by realising a new 60G consoles, sucks to be them doesn't it

Sat you're being irrational and building a straw man. Everyone, except fanboys ,think nintendo's performance, at E3, was subpar when compared to MS or Sony.

Oh, I see you only repsoned to those certain parts of my post so I'm just going to assume I was right about everything else.
The others didnt need big announcements. All they had to do was provide more information about great games that we know are coming. They did that. Neither one of them presented anything mind blowing but the fans' expecations were met for the most part. However, you should have seen the chaos of many Wii specific message boards around the net when the conference was over. It was hilarious. lol
Oh, I think MAG(256 multiplayer) is considered to be a big annoucement for Sony. FFXIII no longer being an exclusive is probably considered to be a big annoucement for Microsoft. Wii Motion is possibly considered the big annoucement for Nintendo.satman83 wrote: lol...yea so if they add anything onto it it means that they failed? so i guess Sony and Microsoft failed when they realize new versions of their consoles or controllers? Yea using ur logic i guess Microsoft failed the last 3 years by realising a new 60G consoles, sucks to be them doesn't it No, but Nintendo's solution to everything seems to be make a peripheral... Also, there is no comparsion between what the others have done. Controllers were redesigned based on consumer feedback and so was the new model. Also, I'm also pretty sure that they are optional.
However, when the Wii was released, the Wii was said to be able to pick up precise movements and 1:1 gameplay would now be possbile. So far not one game is capable of 1:1 recognition. So, Nintendo's solution to fix the problem seems to be another peripheral. It seems future games will require this peripheral. From an IGN interview with Miyamoto:
"There's a lot of potential things we can look at with that," Miyamoto said of MotionPlus. "We haven't finalized anything at this point, but my general assumption is that probably having the Wii MotionPlus coupled with the Wii remote is going to become a much better standard for us to work with."
In my opinion, Nintendo is just milking the Wii for all its worth. Good thing I don't buy most of the games produced by Nintendo.

I never recall seeing any instance where it's worked before so I dunno why it would work now. 256 players is a lot of people. Only game I know that comes close is for PC and it tops out around 150. Even then the lag is pretty nuts.

M.A.G. looks great and with the PS3's amazing hardware it should be a breeze playing it. Though having a team that might be completely stupid could be an obstacle to overcome, You could fill there spaces with bots, or since its squad based sorta you could make it so that person would die err something if he did not fill out his objective. Punishments in other words. I think it will succeed relax.
EDIT: to Reise and average PC has a duo core perhaps, a PS3 have 7 cores each 3.2GHz(pretty sure) i don't know about the rest of it but if anything can do it it would be a PS3.
