Just pre-ordered it. It's only $5 off though. :| If, for some reason, you haven't heard of L4D it's Valve's latest multiplayer game (4 player co-op/vs) where you have to fight off the zombie horde, with the help of friends, or be left 4 dead. >_> Alternatively, you can play against a team as a zombie 'boss.' There are 4 varieties. Hunters can crouch and then pounce on humans, Boomers spit blinding bile that also attracts other zombies, Smokers can snatch people away from the group with their tongue, and Tanks can weaponize nearby chunks of the environment by hurling them and they take more damage than other zombies. I've been waiting for this game for so long and it's finally here. Who's with me? [A demo will be out in a couple weeks.] http://store.steampowered.com/app/500/
Im definitely getting it, but a tactical COOP game probably isnt something these people are like. Specially if they like CS or something. No offense but i wouldnt trust half the people here. But im gonna be spending a lot of money on games this year, FC2 tonight, GTAIV, this, Fallout 3 and a few more, at 50 each it will be pricy.

Starcraft 2, Diablo 3
Years away. Good selection of games, Sharp. I approve. If Fallout 3 was being released on steam I'd pick it up in a heartbeat. I'll eventually get FC2 but there's a lot to play right now. Suppose I'll see you on L4D then.
Oh shit. I might get this one. I saw an ad for this game on the bus this morning. I would have to look at the required specs first though..sadly. It's basically playing as one of those poor bastards from Dawn of the Dead
Just did a quick check on the system requirements and it seems like I meet most of the recommended requirements except for the graphics card. I'm in between the minimum and recommended..I'm using an NVIDIA 7150M =S
Minimum:
* Supported OS: Microsoft Windows XP / Vista / Vista64 * Processor: Pentium 4 3.0GHz * Memory: 1 GB * Graphics: 128 MB, Shader model 2.0, ATI 9600, NVidia 6600 or better * Hard Drive: At least 7.5 GB of free space * Sound Card: DirectX 9.0c compatible sound card
Recommended:
* Supported OS: Microsoft Windows XP / Vista / Vista64 * Processor: Intel core 2 duo 2.4GHz * Memory: 1 GB * Graphics: Shader model 3.0, NVidia 7600, ATI X1600 or better

i like CO-OP, but i'd rather be a zombie team hunting real ppl than a zombie team hunting AI...just doesn't seem as much fun
I agree, being better than people is superior to being better than a computer. That's not to say the later isn't fun though. The demo will be out shortly and you can confirm or deny your suspicions there, for free.
I think there are enough FPS team pvp games out there to satisfy people's bragging needs. The 4-player COOP gameplay is definitely the main attraction of this game IMO.

I'd agree, but how many multiplayer zombie games are there that aren't mods?
From what I remember reading, unless it changed, the zombie players still go against the human controled survivors. The thing is they are not labeled like in most games with a GamerTag or whatever on their head, so you don't know whats AI and whats a person.
The game is more then incredible looking, the way the Director is built to monitor each character's amount of interaction and from there spawns things to attack you enough so you're not bored but not too much to burn you out as well as randomizes the spawn areas and triggers...i think its great. I cant wait to do this and Horde mode on Gears all night every night.
