I think that's with a very high ISO, so the camera takes more light in. I highly doubt you can see that with your own eyes.

Its a picture of Mars and Orion over Monument Valley from Wally Pacholka. He is most famous for his flying rockies of the sky pictures, though.

Mars is the big bright thing on the left, Orion is the constellation to its right, Betelgeuse is that reddish star near the center, and the Belt of Orion and the Orion Nebula are farther right. Finally, the bright blue star Rigel appears above the rock towards the left side of the pic.

All real.
