Heyy,
I need to clear thing up,
I dont get it when people tell me that you level slower with a gap?
Why?
It's not like your getting less exp when having a gap?
I even wonder,do you really get more SP when having a gap? o_o
I need someone to explain me those two things people always tell me.

bigger the gap = more sp less xp
smaller the gap = more xp less sp

maximum gap = 9
minimum gap = 0

gap = difference between your current level and your highest mastery level

from an old guide

Ok in silk road there are two types of basic exp points you can get first you get experience points this is used for
leveling your character.

Second kind of exp is skill points exp aka sp points exp, for every 400 sp exp you get you get 1 sp point.

As you can see below there is 124 sp points.
Image

We will not be discussing Pet experience or job experience in this guide.

Now skill points can be used to get skills ie fire, cold, force, bicheon etc.

The reason people sp farm is to gather all the sp points they need for later on so that they can get all the skill they want at that time. As you level up you will notice that you will need more and more sp points to get new skills.

Ok first thing first how do you get exp and sp well simply put by killing things you get exp for every monster/player you kill you will notice how many you get on the bottom right window.

Now to increase you sp exp you will need to leave a gap between your skill mastery and your character lvl.

Image

As you can see this characters lvl is 12

Image

Fire mastery is 11

Image

Lightning is 10

Image

Bicheon is 1

Now only your highest skill mastery counts so at this moment for sp farming my fire mastry is the highest at 11 this is only a 1 lvl gap. My character lvl is 12 and my highest mastry lvl is 11.

This is not that good for sp farming as you only get a small amount of extra sp points.

This is what i get when i kill a decayed yeoya.

Image

I get 217 Experience points
And 94 sp Exp

i get the same amount everytime i kill one.

If my fire mastry was at 10 then there would have been a 2 lvl gap and i would have gained more sp exp.

Ok now if i increase my fire mastry to 12 this is what i get on the same monster.

Image

I get 242 Experience points
And 85 sp Exp

This is what i get for every dacayed yeoya i kill. My sp exp has gone down from 94 to 85. But wait have you noticed my experience points have increased from 217 to 242  thats right if you sp farm and leave a gap between character level and your mastery level you get less experience exp which means it will take longer to level up.

Ok now there's a bad side to sp farming the larger the gap the longer it will take you to level your character.

The maximum gap that gets you more sp points is 9 so if your character lvl is 20 and your mastery is 11 this is the maximum extra sp points you will get anything more like having your mastery at 10 and your character at 20 will gain you notheing exter then having it at 11.

Ok so how long should you sp farm for thats a good question everyone does it different i sp farmed till i gained 40k sp but that takes forever and you character will level up slowly.

i think thats it any questions post.

Exp gained = base exp * (1 - gap*10%)
Sp gained = base sp * (1 + gap*10%)
