It's not worth it. If they ban you, count it as a blessing and move on to better things.

That's counter productive, you aren't doing anything to hurt the company. Botting just because you are pissed means you are taking one spot away from a legit.

If you use a bot, and don't buy silk, then theres a high chance you will get banned, however if you use a bot and buy silk, then you wont get banned. If you don't bot, and don't buy silk, then you wont be banned.

+1

Hate people who keep saying that but don't have any proof. From the recent ban list we got a silk buying bot on greece banned too...

I'm so sorry Dango didn't use Euphemisms when addressing you.

OnT: Silk or no silk, it makes no difference. Joymax will find you and ban you. People should stop spreading stupid rumors.

obviously your chances of getting banned is significantly more if you dont buy silk

botting does not affect getting banned, joymax picks random users that dont buy silk and occasionally users that do buy silk

It's pretty simple; if u alter ur client or something like that there is ALWAYS a chance of being banned; no matter how much silk u buy!

Recently lots of people complaining about non-silkbuying "legits" getting banned.
But when u ask more info, there is always something that makes them bannable; like the swearfilter, zoomhack, no-dc client, ....
But of course, they won't mention that when complaining that they got banned while being legit...

When u get banned it's almost always for either Chargeback Or botting.
The reason "Botting" includes also the use of: swearfilter, zoomhack, .....

So someone that used zoomhack but never botted and gets banned will get; "banned for botting".

They banned a silk buyer because people making stupid rumors that silk buyer dont get banned. If I were joymax, I banned every botters, player who get powerlevel from botter. These freeloader off botter are worst than the botter themselves, they just taking up that extra space on the server.

ppl who buy silks = real ppl. JM dont ban them

ppl who dont buy silks = goldfarmers. JM bans them soon or later (just to mute all the complains)

thats just what i see since ages, its a fact. accept the sad truth :(

banned silk buyers? maybe coz chargeback or other reasons.

thats how Joymax works

if Joymax would ban all botters who pay, they will lose too much money for massive chargebacks (90%ppl pay using paypal)

These games are business first of all. GMs have family to mantain

ifu guys still believe JoyBot will catch all bots players you are blind •.• Is 100% pure utopia

Bots there were then, there are now, and there will always be ;(

Why do people believe these rumors?

First off, I know at least 30 people who used a bot, has been banned, AND BOUGHT SILK. So please don't spread false information.

I highly doubt that they will lose more than they would gain. Considering that the majority of the population has quit because of bots, logic would tell you that they are losing more money in the long run. Remove majority of bots, add some new items, provide better service and I can gaurantee you that they will sell 2-3 times more item mall items.

Humans were given a brain for reason. So stop being a lamb.

that's how I THINK Joymax works

if Joymax would ban all botters who pay, they will lose too much money for massive chargebacks (90%ppl pay using paypal)

Unless u are a JM employee, u can not say how they work.
A Massive Ban of Playerbots would be stupid; I think they JM will ban playerbots in small groups.
And u forget 1 thing: If sro becomes (almost) goldbot-free & playerbot free; there WILL BE MANY NEW USERS!! And there will be lots of silkbuyers amongst them. SRO - bots = Best MMORPG?
Now every new player can't loging -.-; so they are trusting on the older players. But they get tired of sro eventually too.
New senario (active botblocksystem): JM attracts new people + People that quit because of botters will return => increasing population of sro + more players tell their friends about sro => increasing income for JM
Even if servers go crowded, people will be more eager to buy premiums as the servers would be full with REAL players.

Current senario: More and more people leaving (quiting or to private servers) -> sro is not introduced to player's friends as it as a pain in the a$$ for new players; remaining playerbotters have premium but reach 90 so fast that they quit after 3 months, as they are bored (they are full farmed for next cap and just wait for new cap) => servers just keep filling up with goldbotters -> more & more people keep leaving = Less & less income for JM

EDIT: about ban and than do chargeback: I think JM could make an arrangement with PayPal -> JM bans a botter and any paypal transaction to that accounts gets locked, so chargeback can't be done.
ALSO: it is impossible to do a chargeback on all the silk u ever bought

I think Vandango, and lots of others here, are getting fed up with so called 'facts' being posted here (at least this is the way your present your thoughts). Vandango proved you wrong, maybe not on the best way. At least he provided a fact (Shadow got banned, yet he bought silk).

@HawaiianMix

hehe in my point of view "the lamb" is not me

u doubt what MorningDew (the 2nd one, who got fired some months ago) said.
(if i remeber well there is a topic about, in Silkroadforums too)

do u belive during the 3 past years JMax still isnt able to find a cure for bots?

@Razorhead

of course is what "i think" I wrote the post!
Everyone is free to think what he want.
What I THINK is = JMax wont ban Premium bot users. Tomorrow, like yesterday, Silkroad will still be infested by bots

@MrBow
But we dont know for sure the reason why he got banned.

Last time I checked, he was not the voice of the company and was only one perspective. From how I see it, he obviously was no one important and your typical disposable employee.

And even though we may agree that the company has unexpectedly taken a wrong turn, WE MAY NOT assume we know everything without knowing the entire details. Unless you are an actual GM or someone working in the Seoul, Korea office, you do not know what is really going on.

Are you serious? It would take me 10 minutes to come up with a complete solution to lower the amount of exploits in this game.

Joymax is not having problems finding a so called "cure". If anything, they are either too understaffed or do not have the right people to implement the majority of the needed patches.

Oh and you forget, the other 5 versions are individually published and they pay Joymax for developments. So, if a company is understaffed or is having problems with scheduled developments, why would isro be it's first priority?

Lack of priority = piss poor development.

Joymax only bans people who modify their client. There is no "RANDOM" ban. As Joymax has stated many times, when they ban player botters, they gather information over time in order to conclude that they should be banned.

It is a slow process, yet accurate. So, if your friend gets banned, they obviously were doing something on the side; botting, no-dc, zoom hack, etc.

Bots can be easily eliminated with the "Rappelz" method. That is spawning a special level 1 mob in all areas. Normal players cannot attack such a mob. The only way a player can attack these special mobs is by using a bot, which can send an attack signal. So when a player attacks these mobs, they are 100% botting and can easily be identified and banned.

Probably won't work since we had something similar to this in the beginning and all it did was kill new players.

And then, you have to worry about every character that has AOE attacks.

yes it's a known fact that JM bans players that buy no silk. they probably assume that there bots that way too.
