i had the exact same problem.
the only things i did was kept trying and trying adn trying and i turned off all my firewalls and i ran ad-aware and after all that it worked one time. not sure if that solved the problem or not but it might be.

First, remove all current silkroad information on your computer. Then try reinstalling it from a different site, Filefront works i can garuntee that. I had the same problem for a while....Hope this helped

i tried to install it from like 1000000 different sites and there is nothing on my computer wich has something to do with sro except from the client installeren wich is saved in my documents, maybe there are some files in my windows but no idea where and how to find em.

I had this problem when I tried to launch the SRO install from an external USB drive. I copied it to my desktop and launched it from there and it worked fine.
