 Post subject: Stay Wizard? Or go Warlock?

Im lvl 77 wizard.. Should i switch to warlock? A wizard is a 1 shot and it's way harder to train. Should i go warlock? I have a shield, stun, etc. Plus i still hit hard...

You'll regreat for changing ... most likely .. when you friends will kill every medusa / Roc and shit ... and you'll support them only in damage ... and when someone comes with holy word ... you're screwed ... =/

Stay Wizard dude , and powerfarm yourself Warlock if you like it that much.

But arent warlocks better in pvp? FW and GW's? Because in the end thats what it all comes too.

@Nitro: I agree, a Warlock's low damage is hugely overshadowed by Chinese Nukers and Wizards, and even many STR builds, so they are ksed really easily. Of course they can debuff the unique, but that would only make the other nukers kill it even faster. The only Warlock I saw who got a unique kill to date is Astra, and no one was ksing him.

@Blurred: Warlocks are significantly better at tanking than Wizards even as a fellow pure INT build, so therefore they can have more 'fair' pvp. Wizards either live or die, but Warlocks have the added advantage of a shield and attack cancel skills. Therefore Warlocks, with the appropriate skill and reflexes, can easily fend off enemies and come out on top even when the opponent has struck first. This is only 1 vs 1 pvp, however. In group pvp, Wizards should have buffs and will kill much more efficiently instead of simply killing one or two people and then being 1-shotted. So as Wizards/Nukers provide the main attack force, Warlocks are their support characters who cast AOE Disease, Debuffs, and DoT skills. A Warlock's party potential is significantly hampered by Holy Spell, but even with Holy Spell, Warlocks can cast buffs like Advanced Reflect and Scream Mask, and of course DoTs and Stun still work. At 84, they get Recovery Bind, which launches Panic onto three opponents and is unrestricted by Holy Spell.

Here is the rundown:
-Wizards are theoretically faster than Warlocks in soloing, but it really depends on how often they die.
-Wizards are more needed in Euro parties, while Warlocks are lower priority.
-Wizards kill way more uniques than Warlocks.
-Wizards have a very difficult time PVPing solo, while Warlocks solo with ease and can kill multiple enemies with area Stun/sleep and Debuffs.
-Wizards do well in party PVP, provided there is a Warrior and Cleric to support them, but Warlocks are gimped when there is Holy Spell (otherwise, they are a GODSEND even though only 1 is ever needed).

If you are a solo PVPer like 99% of the population and you don't mind soloing sometimes when Wizards take your place in Euro parties, then Warlock is your best bet, because they hold up very well against most builds 1 vs 1, die less, and are still helpful in parties. But if you like to party grind and don't care much about solo PVP, then stay Wizard. Wizards are the most common build in parties; if you enter a balanced euro party, there should be 3 or 4 of them, which makes them the most numerous build (even moreso than warriors and clerics) and therefore they hold the most demand.

EDIT: IMO don't switch since you're already 77, but let this be a recommendation for a new character ^_^ Wizards have an undeniable advantage in powerleveling, so you could make a new character, farm it, and get it as for as level 60 very easily. And then you'll have TWO characters you can mess around with!

Blurred ... I think you are too high to switch now ... just continue with your Wizard , or farm alot of SP for your Warlock at Ongs.

ugh... the thing with warlock/cleric and holy word problem...

stun/sleep -> offering... you can skip the debuffing if you want
