Cigarettes burn for approximately 12 minutes, but smokers usually only inhale for 30 seconds. That means for 11 minutes and 30 seconds cigarettes are spewing second-hand (sidestream) smoke into the air .

Because sidestream smoke burns at a lower temperature than inhaled smoke, it contains:

* 2 times more tar, which gums up lungs and breathing passages
* 5 times more carbon monoxide, which reduces the amount of oxygen in the blood

and i cant quote atm but i read is 10 times worse almost 11 than directly smoking. the thing i hate the most is working out and some1 suddenly lighting up a smoke near me ........... wont go any further into that

can you back up that statement with any facts...just sounds like total bullshit to me!

and if you tried a stunt like that where i live...you would go home with a very sore face!

Ive done it in school before, when we were all eating lunch some douche came up smoking blowing smoke everywhere so i grabbed his arm, took his cig and stepped on it and told him to **** off. Just annoying as ****

Seriously though, it's perfectly legal in places and you would be the one commiting a crime by hitting them. Does it make it right for them to smoke beside you? No, obviously not. Yet a few seconds of second hand smoke once in a while won't kill you. You're taking it to the extreme by saying you'd punch them in the face. If it's 'all the time' then kindly ask them to smoke somewhere else, if they don't then move yourself. Until something legal happens about it you're shit out of luck.

there is no such thing as an ok few seconds of second hand smoke when i dont want anyand about the legal spec of it i can say he started it and i was defending myself ,if you have some record of the issue with the person is even better. you have the upper hand when some1 is committing a crime or directly/indirectly abusing you/affecting your privacy/rights. also i dont go telling people ill punch any smokers i see in the face couse that affects your credibility

Cigarettes are sold in almost every store across the world "goverment endorsed", it is totaly legal to smoke!

we all have the warnings on the packets so we know the dangers of smoking to ourselves!

If the dangers of passive smoking get you so upset...try talking to your government representitive in your own area!

I don't mind smokers smoking on their own, but its annoying when someone smokes at the bus stop/restaurant or somewhere every else has to be, you can't help but notice it. But the thing that really annoys me is when I see trying to pressure their friends into smoking even though theirs that big 'No' there; that's what really annoys me.

The thing about ilegalizing cigs are that it wouldn't really stop it, you know you will find some illegal way to get your cigs as long as your addicted enough. And cigs make big bucks I pity those people who play $5-$10 or more for a box of cig. lol so much for something with such a bad taste, Ill take the wine. And atleast with drinking your liver can heal, if you get lung cancer that's not going away.

that is why when some1 says is stupid you dont defend it so the stupidity doesn't spread and perhaps your children are around people who firmly agree is bad

also you mentioned early that people should take the second hand smoke issue to the government and they already have that is why at least in over 70% of the united states you cant do so in public places and such

If you spoke half readable english it might be easier to reply..anyway here goes.

If you hit the person first and then the police come, you will be to blame. Violence solves nothing in this case. If it's legal to smoke and you happen to be near me I'm not moving unless asked politely. Touch me and I'd have you charged for assault. The real world hurts, but saying 'amagad gnna punch uuuu smokerzz' over the internet won't make me believe you would.

FYI I don't smoke and never will, and I 100% agree with your dislike for people smoking around me, but the way you adress it is horrible and in my opinion very stupid. Also my name isn't MrPharmacist..l2quote.
