nukes dont use physical attack so giant shield is void if you use it dont give me that bullshit that it blocks a lot

That really made me laugh. Look mate, it's as simple as this:

Shield can block a nuke. Do you agree?
if you increase ur shield's br, IT WILL HAVE A HIGHER CHANCE OF BLOCKING A NUKE.
Please, but pleaseeeeeee, dont talk about things u dont know shit about. And ƒuck your expirience. I woulda rape u @ pvp.

you would rape me in pvp? LOL ..... hardly buddy first of all your too noob to know that giant shield doesnt help block nukes and second too bad i dont want to post all my gear and the gold i have you would end up calling me a gold buyer ROFL

edit yeah you will rape me alright with this HAHAHHAAHHAHA pshhhh
http://www.rev6.com/player.asp?id=29036

1stly, that aint my char anymore, buddy. 2ndly, u dont have any arguments about A SHIELD NOT BLOCKING A NUKE. So keep ur mouth shut and also keep ur personal expirience for urself, cuz no1 here gives a shit about a shittalker like u, spreading his theory using JM's bad skill descriptions.

If you plan on pvping a lot. And you KNOW that you will get 1 hit by say, prick. you should get it IMO. And especially against maddening. At level 42 with 5/6 sos gear, I STILL get 1 hit by maddening sometimes. And with those high crit %'s you die most of the time with castle shield.

Giant shield protects you from:
High Crit attacks (prick / maddening)
High level physical attackers (common in job wars. Usually glaivers, 2h warriors, rogues, bowman)

That's my opinion :D
I'm getting both.

yeh, like, u got 2 ppl lvl4x to agree with you. The only one who is retarded here is the one who thinks 2 guys supporting him makes the whole thing truth.

I dont think giant shield increases block on magical attacks.
It increases BR OF YOU SHIELD, WHICH ALSO BLOCKS NUKES.

How fckin old r u, 9?

Please keep the discussion civil people. We can argue based on logic all we want, but it's not going to help us here, and insulting each other will certainly not be helpful. I'll try to make some time free in the next few days to run some tests in pvp. I'm sure I can find a nuker or wizard willing to kill me a bunch of times. :)

Right. I'm sorry. I'll behave.

Imma make a pvp vid. I'll ask all of my buddies to meet me and nuke me (most of the pure str's have lvl1 nukes too, just for fun lol as for pure int's, I'll ask them to nuke w/o weapons, in order not to kill me. Then I'll fraps; 1st without, then with giant shield on, AND I'll turn the sound on, so u can hear; 1st less, then more BLING BLING BLING BLING.

The reason I say its not worth skilling, is because in my own experiance I have not found it very usfull, like most things on sro, if you have the sp get it :P otherwise from my personal experiance as a nuker, it hasnt helpled, but Crni_Vatreni beats me on experiance with regards to shield users, BaronSengir DOES have a valid point, the Bloody fan storm series from Huek claims to increase BR by 18% or w/e, but it can only block magical attacks, like nukes, not physical attacks, or physical attacks with an imbue, so logicaly it would mean that giant shield only blocks physical attacks, but Joymax arnt very clear, like on fan storm it says it blocks all, when in reality, it doesnt :) it would be very hard to prove if giant shield does or does not exclusilvy block phy attacks, as there is an equal chance the skill blocks it as the shield it self does! :)

I didn't feel like reading through this whole post so I dont know if anyone else has said it yet but both of them only effect physical attacks so Ironwall is better. I can't log in right now to get a screenshot to prove but it the skill description says it only blocks phy attacks.

the skill does say increaces physical block rate, but how would that even work with any weapon skill plus imbue, that just doesn't make sense

this actually has my interest now, how about instead of argueing we try to figure it out for sure, i don't got a bich user high lvl enough any more to use mt or giant

problem is you can already naturally block a nuke, a video would be hard to do, we'd have to record some taking 100 nukes and then 100 nukes with mt/giant on, do it 3 times both ways and compare averages

I'll do it. Just gimme some time.

I'll find 10 ppl to nuke me w/o weapons for 15 secs. First w/o, then w/ giant shield. Then u count the number or blocks. Or turn the speakers on, u can clearly say more or less blocks just by the sound of it. Will be @ youtube soon.

Block ratio on 2hand weapon just decreases the block of the opponent if he has a shield, noop :)

You misunderstood him. Bloody Demon Storm is a spear skill, which gives block ratio for 15 seconds. It has nothing to do with alchemy blues.

Yes sure, block ratio but how could he block with spear?
The mag def increase buff is better :)

He could block with a spear because that the skill "Demon Bloody Storm" allows him to.. *sigh*
And yeah, mag defence buff seems better.

Well, it wouldn't be the first translation Joymax farked up. :) All therapy circles claim not to work against champions, but the higher ones certainly do.

In this case however, my first tests seem to indicate that BaronSengir was right. I had a cleric hit me repeatedly with his normal attack, and only 1/4 - 1/3 of the shots were blocked. I'll run some more tests over the weekend, but for now I'm inclined to believe BaronSengir. I'll let you know when I've run more tests.

no sense in flaming when testing could be done, if cigi makes his video like he said he would following my guildlines of 3 tests both ways the averages could be easily tested, compared, and we should get an answer

Anyone made/making a video, I'm really interested if it blocks them or not.
I think it does personally.

I'm not sure if a video has been made yet, but all my tests so far indicate that it does not block them. I spent last night killing mages and shamans, and their (magical) attacks are not blocked at a higher rate when I activate the skill than without it.
