Just write about why you want to do that course you have chosen, what excites you
about it and why you want a job in that subject when you leave...best bet is to look
for samples off the internet.

From what I learnt from my high school history teacher, you never be typical. Sure, you write about the reason you choose that course, and probably so will 500+ others, making you another sheep, another Joe Blow.

My view? Instead of writing why you chose the course, write why they should choose you.

Most colleges want to know who you are, your ideas etc, writing a whole essay on why they should choose you is not such a good idea as 1000 of others will be doing the same.

The essay is used to set you apart from the 5000 other kids who have GPAs over 3.5. You should talk about your major and why your dedicated to it, about yourself, any obstacles you;ve had t over come to get this far, leaderships stuff if you have it...etc

lol I'm reading a book entitled "Best College Admission Essays" it explains it like as if I'm trying to write a play ><

Write it in third person D: And if you are one of those kids with a really high gpa, I would stay away from talking about school... but rather talk about your extra - curricular activities more.. sports, videogames, hobbies, weird summer jobs, etc.

Last year, one of my friends got accepted and he submitted an essay about dungeon raiding on WoW. No kidding either.

Lol.. grinding mobs in the dw caves is nothing close to dungeon raiding. If your going to write about sro, I would say boss camping/killing , jobbing, or wars is pretty intresting as well. But there isnt really a feature where you can do instance dungeons on sro.

You should put " You know how confident I am you will choose me? This is the only school I applied to thats how confident I am that you will choose me. A mind like mine only appears every few years, You decide my fate ( or something like that)

Raiding in wow at high level (competing for world's first) is really not something to joke about in terms of administration, hierarchy and other stuff.
A GM of one of those guilds shows tremendous leadership skills leading over 25 people to work together and achieve their goal.

I don't think any of the other applicants will have that experience in leadership those GMs have already had, and it's really not a bad idea to devote a part of your essay to it.
imo.
